Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1155054 By Louis Armstrong. By Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. Arranged by Richard Hirsch. 20th Century,Multicultural,Pop,Standards,World. Individual part. 8 pages. Richard Hirsch #755336. Published by Richard Hirsch (A0.1155054). Taking inspiration in Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World mashup, I offer an arrangement in polyrhythmic 4/4 time of What a Wonderful World for solo acoustic guitar. The arrangement has an afro-flamenco character with two tiers of rhythm. Tier one is the normal 4/4 rhythm with accents at 1 and 3. Tier two consists of accents falling on beats 2 and 2& and 3& of the 4 beat measures. Tier two can be highlighted by clapping or tapping with a table knife on a bottle at beats 2 and 2& and 3&, with the strongest accent on 3& (an upbeat). The tune is really happy and up-lifting. If there are any little folks (kids two to four years old) around listening, they will have a hard time sitting still. My grandson (two and a half) really got going when I played it for him. I can hardly resist the urge to dance to the tune while playing myself! The arrangement is in the spirit of the Canarios by Gaspar Sanz for classical guitar and is meant to have the nature of a dance. The repetitive alternating thumb and index and middle finger cycle going through the broken chords with the melody woven in works to give the arrangement an almost hypnotic character. The fingering for the right hand is given in first section and is basically the same throughout the piece. The fingering for the left hand can, I believe, be easily figured out from the tablature. The arrangement is within the reach of intermediate students of the acoustic guitar; anyone who has mastered the basics of fingerstyle fingerpicking guitar, and can be played on both nylon and steel string acoustic guitars. The short and long glissandos and the arpeggios of natural harmonics resembling the kalimba (thumb harp) together with the drone effects of the enharmonic tones in the chords give an added dash of African spice to the piece.

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808686 Composed by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini (1741–1816). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Classical,Holiday,Love,Wedding. Score and parts. 23 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #3689775. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808686).     This is one of the most beautifully arranged short pieces in the Sweetwater Brass Press catalog.   Jean-Paul-Égide Martini wrote Plaisir d'amour in 1784. He took the words from a poem that appears in Célestine, a short novel by Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian. The poem begins, Plaisir d'amour ne dure qu'un moment (The pleasure of love lasts only a moment). Over the years, Martini’s melody has proved popular with other composers, including Hector Berlioz and Louis van Waefelghem. Two relatively recent songs that made use of the plaintiff refrain are the Christian hymn, My God Loves Me and the song Can't Help Falling in Love, which was performed by Elvis Presley in the film, Blue Hawaii.    This arrangement is not technically difficult, but it does require discipline and interpretation. As in the original, there are two key changes, F to A-flat and then back to F.  The time signature has been changed from Martini’s 6/8 to ¾ but retains all relative note values. Trumpet 1 plays the melody with occasional harmony from Trumpet 2. Horn in F provides arpeggio accompaniment throughout most of the song, with some help from Tuba and Trombone. With respect to high and low notes: Trumpet 1 has one A5 grace note (to a G5 quarter note); Trumpet 2 has three above-staff quarter notes in a row, A5, B5 and A5; Trombone has one F4; and Tuba has a number of F1 notes and one section of octave jumps involving F2 to F3 and A2 to A3.   This arrangement was completed in 2018, and performance time runs about 3 minutes, 51 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, would be very interested in your comments; contact him at lessmith@ufl.edu or leave a review on the SheetMusicPlus website. Choral Choir,Choral,TTBB Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1475739 By Cian Ducrot. By Cian Ducrot and Lauren Frawley. Arranged by Dustin S. Cates. Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. 15 pages. Dustin S Cates #1053296. Published by Dustin S Cates (A0.1475739). I’ll Be Waiting was released as a single in 2022 by Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot. Despite its catchy chorus, the piece addresses the often complex nature of human relationships. The contrasting themes of loss, regret, hope and love are all part of the story of the song. A story that the singer describes as the emotions involved in, “waiting for someone you love to show up.” Ducrot, who also studied flute performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, is one of a growing number of musicians gaining popularity through leveraging the power of social media, in particular TikTok, to share their music with the world. I’ll Be Waiting went viral as Ducrot posted videos of flash mob performances of the song taking place in subway trains, shopping malls and even on NBC’s Today Show.

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.920243 Composed by Hymn. Arranged by Karen Weirather. Christian,Sacred,Spiritual. 2 pages. Karen Weirather #5218047. Published by Karen Weirather (A0.920243). A tune found in many hymnals, Come Thou, Fount of Every Blessing is a beautiful song that has stood the test of time. This arrangement provides the perfect opportunity for two treble C instruments (particularly flutes) to showcase the melody while also supporting it with a new harmony or variation on each strain. The first verse starts out as a solo in the top part, the second strain follows with an added harmony in the bottom part, the third strain puts the melody in the bottom part and gives the top part a descant, and the fourth verse rounds off the piece with the melody returning to the top part and a harmony part in the bottom. Perfect for sacred and secular settings, this duet is beloved by all audiences and is a joy to perform. Time duration is approximately 2 minutes.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1400203 Composed by Nancy DeVries. Arranged by Nancy DeVries. Christian,Easter,Lent,Religious. Score. 2 pages. Nancy DeVries #983416. Published by Nancy DeVries (A0.1400203). Ubi Caritas is a well-known hymn of Western Christianity, associated with the foot-washing ceremony of Holy Thursday; it is known under the English title of Where Charity and Love Prevail. The Latin translation of the refrain is: Where Charity and Love prevail, God is there. The theme of this venerable Gregorian antiphon is heard and developed in this contemporary piano arrangement, which reflects memorable aspects of Holy Thursday - the Institution of the Holy Eucharist and the command by Christ to love one another. Intermediate or Advanced intermediate level. The work may be suitable for use during Holy Thursday, for all Sundays throughout the Church year and may also be especially suitable for weddings.
