Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918296 Arranged by Brenda Dillon. Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Dillon's Music Group #6221673. Published by Dillon's Music Group (A0.918296). I Need Thee Every Hour was written by Annie Sherwood Hawks. After her husband died, she reflected on the power of this hymn: I did not understand at first why it had touched the great throbbing heart of humanity. It was not until long after, when the shadow fell over my way, the shadow of a great less, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words which I had been permitted to give out to others in my hour of sweet serenity and peace.About the composer: Brenda Dillon is best known for her contributions to the Recreational Music Making movement. In addition to her contributions to the RMM Track for MTNA's Pedagogy Saturday, she also presented group piano and RMM sessions throughout the U.S. As well as serving as a teacher trainer, she has written extensive articles on both group piano and RMM teaching. She has publications with Hal Leonard and Alfred Music listed on her website. (www.brendadillon.com).

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938565 Composed by Douglas Pew. Contemporary. Score. 20 pages. Blue Shore Music #12975. Published by Blue Shore Music (A0.938565). The 25-minute suite A la Orilla Azul Del Silencio ('On the Blue Shore of Silence') was inspired by the last poems of Pablo Neruda. Sensual, other-worldly, expressive and showcasing his rich harmonic pallet, they are freely tonal and transcend any sense of measured time. This is gorgeous piano music. The language is luminous and chromatic, with just enough hints of tonality to help juxtapose the incredible harmonic shifts. His sonic approach to the keyboard here has its ancient roots in Debussy’s pianism, demanding hushed pianissimo dynamics. Pew has a unique voice that is sure to connect with audiences, while saying something fresh, profound and meaningful. - Scott Holden, pianist. 1. Llueve (It Rains) 2.Flores en la Luz (Flowers in the Light) 3. Una Palpitación de Estrellas Pálidas (A Palpitation of Pale Stars) 4. ¿Ahí Está el Mar? Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1255616 Composed by Percy Aldridge Grainger. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Folk. 34 pages. RayThompsonMusic #849128. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1255616). Lincolnshire Posy is a musical composition by Percy Aldridge Grainger for concert band commissioned in 1937 by the American Bandmasters Association. Considered by John Bird, the author of Grainger's biography, to be his masterpiece, the 16-minute-long work has six movements, each adapted from folk songs that Grainger had collected on a 1905–1906 trip to Lincolnshire, England. In a similar fashion to these folk songs, many of the movements are in strophic form. This is my arrangement of 2 mvts: No.II Harkstow Grange and No.VI. The Lost Lady FoundArranged symphonic wind dectet (double wind quintet) and bassNo.II Harkstow Grange  (alternate spelling Horkstow Grange)In strophic form, in the concert band version the theme is stated by the clarinets and horns at the opening of the movement. Shifting between 44 and 54 time, the movement features a cornet solo, which is often substituted with soprano saxophone. In my version the opening solo is given to one horn, and cornet solo is played on the oboeNo.VI The Lost Lady FoundA lilting 3/4 melody in strophic form. As the tempo is too fast for the conductor to gesture each beat of every measure, the movement is typically conducted in 1 where each gesture given by the conductor indicates a full measure instead of each beat. Every section of the ensemble states the theme at some point in the movement.

Two-part chorus - Digital Download SKU: C7.CGA381 Composed by Tom Mitchell. Easter. With Handbells, bass. Sacred Anthem. Octavo. 12 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGA381. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGA381). UPC: 749193004425.Taking for her inspiration the refrain used by Helen Kemp in her presentation on children's choir methods, Sue Ellen Page has composed an effective setting with additional text by her husband, Eric. This is one of four anthems commissioned by Westminster Choir College for the second Festival of Singing Children to be premiered in May 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey. The addition of percussion instruments and flute give a colorful spirit to the anthem. The changing meters should not be difficult to teach, and the changing keys help build to a stunning climax. Carol of the Bells is a well-known Christmas carol with a rich history rooted in Ukrainian culture. Here are the key points to understand about this iconic piece:Original Composition: The melody of Carol of the Bells is derived from a Ukrainian folk song called Shchedryk, which Mykola Leontovych composed in 1914. Shchedryk, which translates to The Little Swallow, was originally a New Year's song celebrating the arrival of spring and good fortune.Cultural Context: The song's origins are tied to Ukrainian traditions, where it was sung by young girls going door-to-door on New Year's Eve, wishing families prosperity and good luck for the coming year. The swallow in the song symbolizes the arrival of spring and abundance.English Lyrics: In 1936, American composer Peter Wilhousky adapted the melody for Christmas, writing new lyrics that emphasized bells and Christmas cheer themes. This version transformed Shchedryk into Carol of the Bells, quickly gaining popularity in the United States and becoming a staple of Christmas music.Musical Structure: The carol features a distinctive four-note ostinato and is metrically bistable, allowing listeners to perceive the rhythm differently. It is typically arranged in 3/4 time and has a lively and festive feel, contributing to its widespread appeal.Widespread Adaptations: Carol of the Bells has been recorded in over 150 versions across various musical genres, including classical, jazz, rock, and heavy metal. Notable adaptations include those by Mannheim Steamroller and John Williams, which have helped to cement its status as a Christmas classic.Cultural Significance: The song's association with Christmas has overshadowed its Ukrainian roots, leading to a complex relationship with its cultural identity. In recent years, there has been a movement to reclaim Shchedryk as a significant part of Ukrainian heritage, especially amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.Modern Recognition: The song is frequently featured in films, television shows, and holiday concerts, making it a beloved part of the Christmas season. Its ability to evoke joy and nostalgia resonates with audiences worldwide. In summary, Carol of the Bells is not just a Christmas carol but a piece with deep cultural roots and a fascinating history of transformation from a Ukrainian folk song to a global holiday favorite.

Published by Dillon's Music Group (A0.918265). The Water Is Wide and Wade in the Water suggest a uniting of a folk song and a spiritual.  The Water Is Wide is a folk song of Scottish origin and Wade in the Water is a spiritual that contains explicit instructions to fugitive slaves on how to avoid capture and which routes to take to successfully make their way to freedom.  Escaping in water was a strategy to throw pursuing bloodhounds off one's trail.  They were encouraged to follow these directions:  Wade in the water, Wade in the water children, Wade in the water, God's gonna trouble the water. (included in Brenda Dillon's African American Collection).About the arranger: Brenda Dillon is best known for her contributions to the Recreational Music Making movement.  She served on the RMM Committee that designed the RMM Track for MTNA's Pedagogy Saturday.  She also presented group piano and RMM sessions throughout the U.S.  In addition to serving as a teacher trainer, she has written extensive articles on both group piano and RMM teaching.  She has publications with Hal Leonard and Alfred listed on her website (www.brendadillon.com).

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1167223 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 13 pages. Sally Whitwell #767600. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1167223). As a composer, I feel I always need to be working on somethinng. Even if it's not for a commission, I like to work on my skills, on my composing craft, on keepng the creative ideas flowing. So occasionally, I set myself assignments of a sort, which is how this song cycle Spectrum came to be. I set myself the task of interpreting the colours of the rainbow pride flag. Because I am so gay. The cycle is not actually LGBTQIA+ themed in its subject matter as such, the flag was just a kind of framework for my creativity. In thje intervening years since the cycle was first conceived, the LGBTQIA+ community has embraced a new flag, the Progress Pride FLag, which will give me a few more colours to interpret and add to the original cycle.Thie song Yellow Rain is a setting of a joyous poem by Monique Duval about getting caught in a sun shower on the beach.
