This wonderful song has been arranged for Soprano, Alto 1 and  Alto 2 in the key of Eb, a fantastic key for this voice range. Much of it is easy to learn and the harmonies are beautiful and can be enjoyed by readers and non-readers alike. The arrangement comes with score, individual voice parts (SAA) plus a lyrical piano accompaniment.  Written by Rowland J. Salley, the first version of the song was released in 1977, followed two years later by the John Prine recording.

Lars Ek is one of Sweden's best accordionists, and include known for its fine interpretation of Pietro Frosini, Nisse Lind and even his own more than 100 compositions! Lars Ek is from Stockholm and started playing the accordion as a 5 year old and a year later - in 1953 he made radio debut! TV debut in 1958! Lars is working as an accordionist in different contexts, including has he worked as a teacher, accompanist for numerous artists and toured a lot in Sweden and abroad. He has also toured with his popular Hot-trio and as a solo accordionist in Europe, Asia and North America! Lars has over the years recorded several records, which he actually managed to reflect the old accordion masters' compositions! Lars Ek is the initiator of Frosinisociety founded in 1985, which is to preserve the old accordion music. Lars is now as chairman of the International Frosinisociety and is one of the founders of The World Accordion Music Expo in Ransäter Sweden! The International Frosinisociety he makes through the site www.frosinisociety.org a huge fine job of promote the accordions development and popularity both in Sweden and abroad. Lars works alongside music by an artist agency Music & Underhållningsskrädderiet AB, which he runs together with the family since inception in 1980.

Flute Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of the Allegro movement from Henry Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. This selection is one of the arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library, many of which are being made available for the first time. They have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The original composition was written in D Major but Regis Bookshar has transposed it to Bb Major, making it a little easier for many modern musicians. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (13 pages). The 17th century composer, Henry Purcell, is generally considered to be one of the greatest English composers of his generation. His Sonata for Trumpet and Strings in D Major, composed in 1694, was probably written for the London Theatre, where a fine tradition of trumpet playing had developed. Purcell almost certainly had in mind either John Shore or his brother, William, the most renowned trumpet players in England at the time. The trumpets of the time were normally tuned in D and there were no valves on the Baroque trumpets, so they were limited in the number of notes that they could play. The term Sonata here probably means no more than a piece of incidental music and looks forward to the style that would become the solo concerto where soloist and strings are pitted against each other but also looks back to an older type of instrumental music which emphasized equality between members of the ensemble. The music is in three movements and looks forward to the fast-slow-fast plan popularized by Vivaldi's concertos. Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists, besides trumpet players, could also have the opportunity to play the Allegro movement from Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet, so he has created other arrangements of this selection. This particular arrangement is for a Flute Octet, consisting of 8 Flutes, but there are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this piece. You may find something else that may suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles also available for purchase. Back to School Blues by Tim Crooks for String Orchestra (beginner-ABRSM Grade 2).

Originally written for the Young String Programme at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester UK, this fun Blues piece has been tried and tested on young string players. Technical elements include low 2nd fingers, retakes, and D.S al Coda markings.

The arrangement includes an open string part suitable for Violin, Viola and Cello provided as both notation and graphic rhythm score with colour strings colours / string letter names. Only one open string stave is shown on the score, but parts for Violin, Viola and Cello are included in this set.

Tim Crooks trained as a violinist and violist, working professionally in Manchester (UK) for many years. He was a founding member of the Manchester String Quartet and scored many arrangements for the group's recordings. Saxophone Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Carol of the Bells, also known as Ring, Christmas Bells, is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services. Carol of the Bells was written by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 with lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant Shchedryk, a New Year's song, known in English as The Little Swallow, and utilizes a four-note ostinato which brings to mind the ringing of bells. Originally intended to be sung a capella by a mixed four-part choir it has since been recorded into over 150 versions and re-arrangements for various vocal and instrumental compositions. One version, Ring, Christmas Bells, an English-language variant with Nativity-based lyrics, was written by Minna Louise Hohman in 1947. Regis Bookshar has now arranged the music for a Saxophone Octet, consisting of 1 Soprano Saxophone, 4 Alto Saxophones and 3 Tenor Saxophones. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (21 pages). In addition to this version for a Saxophone Octet, many other arrangements of this selection are also available for a variety of instrumental ensembles, including Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets, as well as numerous other selections in a wide variety of styles.
