A delightful collection of 14 pieces for grades 2-6 Bb clarinet & piano
Depicts the goings on outside and around a Parisian cafe. Several pieces in the collection currently feature on the Trinity College London Bb clarinet syllabus (November 2022 - ongoing).
 
Written in 2013, Scenes from a Parisian Cafe is a beautiful collection of 14 concert and educational pieces for beginner to intermediate (roughly grades 2 - 6) by UK composer Chris Lawry.

The pieces cover the events of a day from the viewpoint of the cafe, from morning to night, and covers a range of tempos and styles with something to suit any occasion and mood. Witness a couple dancing in the rain, a bandoneon player busking, a marching band passing by, and the stars emerging as the evening comes to a close (and much more). With a total length of 27 mins, this is a very good value for money and exciting addition to any concert, educational, or general repertoire. 

The 38 page score (with 18 page part booklet) comes with an accompanying full demonstration tracks (Sax with piano) and a piano-only backing tracks for each piece. These are accessed via the printed download code printed in the publication.

Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 4, expertly arranged by American composer P. F. Strohm for a trio consisting of two tenor trombones and piano. Brahms was enthralled with the rhythms and melodies of Hungarian music. He originally wrote his 21 Hungarian Dances for piano four-hands, and loved performing them for his friends. P. F. Strohm has placed the first six of these musical gems into a new setting of two trombones and piano, drawing from the original piano score; from the violin and piano arrangements made by Brahms' friend, Joseph Joachim; and from Brahms' own solo piano arrangements. These new arrangements are for skilled performers on all parts. Written for and dedicated to Mark Kellogg and Larry Zalkind at the Eastman School of Music, the dances are excellent for recitals and contests, and make wonderful encores. H.P. Takes Five is a cheeky take on Henry Purcell’s famous trumpet tune. Instead of 4/4 time, it’s in 5/4, with a few 7/4 measures thrown in for a bit more fun! Purcell (1659–95) wrote much incidental music for plays and so-called semi-operas performed in London’s theaters, and often included a trumpet tune as a signal for the next act. A trumpet was the only instrument that could be heard above the noise of the audience! This is the wind quintet adaptation of the arrangement originally written for brass quintet. The lead moves around the parts and so this is indicated to make sure that the appropriate line remains prominent. Pay attention to all the tenuto and staccato marks. Make sure that the ff in measures 26, 42, 52, and at the end are as loud as you can get them without overblowing. The fluid lines of the lyrical middle section will test your powers of concentration.
