This is a „take another crossroad version of Mozart´s famous Little Night Music, written by Austrian Arranger and Composer Augustin Lehfuss – a wild and funny arrangement for string quartet in a unusual latin style. Everybody knows the triad motive at the beginning of Mozart´s original composition, which reappears several times throughout  the piece. The idea was, that  the performing quartet, while playing the original work of Mozart –  tired of always playing the same classical music –  â€žturns left any time the characteristic motive appears, and switches  to the latin version which is sold here. Then it runs wild for a while and enjoys Mozart´s theme in a crazy latin style, bevor, finally disciplinized again, finishes in Mozart´s original ending of his „Little Night Music. From the „turn out of Mozart´s original piece  until the original ending  the latin arrangement  lasts  about three minutes .  For this arrangement starts with the famous triad motive, it can also be played as  a stand alone version, though recognizable for the audience. There are phrasings and dynamics indicated in this arrangement, but every quartet should feel free to choose their own phrasings. The 16th century tune Es ist ein Ros entsprungen is popular at Christmas, known as Lo, how a rose e'er blooming, A great and mighty wonder, and other texts.  This arrangement is another written to feature a younger instrumentalist in your Christmas services.  Parts for trombone, baritone, and trumpet are included, and other instrument transpotitions can be arranged by contacting the composer.  I've used the feeling of A great and mighty wonder for this, since a faster tempo normally works better for a young musician.  An experieced played can easily handle this as a slower tempo, reminiscent of Lo, how a rose e'er blooming.  There are three other suites with traditional hymns and original works, under the titles of 2020, 2021, and 2022 Suites for Trombone and Organ.  I hope you will give some younger players the chance to shine!

A La Nanita Nana is a lovely Spanish carol probably most well known in the arrangement by Norman Luboff. In this setting for 2 part mixed voices, the baritone line is a hybrid of bass/tenor ranges making it very accessible to a young choir with limited male voices. The treble part sits a little more in the soprano range and requires use of the head register. The only major challenge to the piece is to differentiate between the major and minor keys. Text is given in both Spanish and English allowing for multiple ways to interpret. It would be a welcome addition to any holiday program. It is also available for expanded choral voicing. This would be a welcome addition to the library with minimal voices. It would also work well as a duet.
