Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.887055 Composed by Folk Song. Arranged by Marilena Zlatanou. A Cappella. 8 pages. Marilena Zlatanou #3033145. Published by Marilena Zlatanou (A0.887055). GREEK FOLK SONG: THALASAKI MOU (Sea, my dearest) Traditional song from the Aegean Islands arranged for SATB choirIn a country surrounded by an often very stormy sea, and including hundreds of islands, this song is a prayer addressed to it, to spare the lives of loved ones. duration: just under 3' Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius file. For more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.net The arrangement attempts to adher to the genuine Greek folk music style as well as allowing some sea waves through it.A piano part is not included but a piano may accompany the choir, dubling the parts, if this is desirable by the conductor. As a Greek living in Norway for most of my adult life, and in my many years’ work as a conductor of a Norwegian choir specializing in Greek music (!), I have experienced the need to enrich the choir’s repertoire with both folk song- as well as other -arrangements of Greek music: This gave me the opportunity to share with our audiences some of the centuries-long musical heritage, as well as helping me make known to them some of the History behind the music of a country of such international historical influence in the past, and such a tourist magnet in our times.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928970 Composed by 1848 to 1903, 1859 - 1929, Lyrics by Katherine Lee Bates, and Samuel Ward. Arranged by Donald A. Mills, 2018. A Cappella,Folk,Patriotic,Spiritual. Octavo. 3 pages. Donald A Mills #4110599. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928970). This new arrangement of America the Beautiful is SATB plus children's choir or soprano solo, a cappella. You and your audiences will delight in the new harmonies. This is a prayer rather than a gut-busting patriotic song. This arrangement is appropriate for an intermediate or higher SATB chorus plus an average children's choir or soprano solo for the last verse. A second director for the chiildren's choir may be utilized. Great for that patriotic holiday, for church, or for a concert venue. In the absence of a children's choir, the use of a strong adult soprano may be substituted in that part.

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497866 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 24 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074279. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497866). Piano Duo - 2 pianos/4 hands. Ignite, Between the Octaves began with the impetus of static ‘pulsation’ (its original title) on repeated octaves. The piece is a fizzing dash of nodal vortices, small, then larger, spinning and tumbling and all the way to the finish line. This piece brings the complete suite of 7 pieces to a dynamic close, with a sense of ignition to new beginnings. The music echoes the opening F octaves of Initiate (movement 1). Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians.  The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1048737 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by Yoon Jae Lee. Classical,Romantic Period,Standards,Traditional,Wedding. 10 pages. Ondine Press #652362. Published by Ondine Press (A0.1048737). This is a full score Yoon Jae Lee's arrangement of the wedding march for string quartet. The set of parts is available separately. Mendelssohn’s wedding march is a ubiquitous piece for any seasoned wedding musician. A quick search online reveals that there are more than a few dozen arrangements of this work for string quartet alone! So why create another one? Many of the arrangements currently in circulation are of extremely poor quality, both from a musical and publishing standpoint. Too often they give little regard to what Mendelssohn actually wrote and are rendered as if the arranger was recalling the music by ear. My new arrangement was created with a fresh examination of the original orchestral score. Here are some key highlights: 1. It preserves the structural integrity of the music (i.e. same exact number of bars as the original) 2. Maintains a balance between the original context and rewriting the music idiomatically for string quartet. 3. Aims to be of high artistically yet playable by most string players above an intermediate level (There are double stops and a few triple stops but nothing unmanageable). 4. No unnecessary articulations, bowings or fingerings have been added. The basic spirit of the music is left untouched and skilled musicians can make their own interpretive decisions with fresh insight into the music. 5. A clean, high quality engraving with bar numbers added. An abridged arrangement of the first 29 bars of march is also available so don’t use a cheap, free arrangement online of this important work. If you are a “serious†musician, be sure to have this arrangement of the wedding march always handy in your library! Perusal Score: https://issuu.com/ondinepress/docs/mendelssohn_wedding_march_full.

C Instrument,Folk Instrument,Instrumental Solo,Piano,Treble Clef Instrument,Zither - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565930 By Sharon Wilson. By Folk Song and Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Christmas,Folk,Multicultural,Sacred,Traditional,World. Score and individual part. 6 pages. Sharon Wilson #6597485. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565930). Here is an easy instrumental duet arrangement (for BOWED PSALTERY solo with PIANO accompaniment) of the traditional French Carol Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella. The psaltery part was designed for a beginning psaltery player and is written in the key of F major with one flat (B-flat/A-sharp). The piano accompaniment is at the intermediate level. To assist those new to reading music notation, two solo parts are included: one is the standard music notation and includes the lyrics for sing along enjoyment. The second solo part is identical to the standard music but instead of lyrics, the note names are provided below each note (example A, B, C. . .). The psaltery plays the melody for one verse. An optional repeat is included in case a longer selection is desired. A piano accompaniment and/or rehearsal track (MP3 format) is available for this arrangement as a separate purchase: Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella (Piano Accompaniment Track for Easy Bowed Psaltery Solo). The range of a typical soprano psaltery is two octaves beginning with the G above middle C (G4). However, since some psalteries have fewer than 25 strings, the range for this song is only one octave. Also, the notes are written an octave lower on the staff to avoid the ledger line notes that would be required to notate the upper notes. The notated range for this song is C4 (middle C) to C5 (one octave above middle C).The purchase price includes a combined score (grand staff, 3-stave) with both parts (PSALTERY and PIANO) on each page, plus 2 options for the 1-staff solo part (one with lyrics, one with alphabetic note names). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Christmas Carols (A Collection of 10 Easy Bowed Psaltery Solos with Piano Accompaniment).Visit Sharon Wilson's website: https://www.sharonwilsonmusic.com/Subscribe to her YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@SharonWilsonMusic

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.870393 Composed by Giovanni Gabrieli. Arranged by Randy A. Steinberg. Baroque. Score and parts. 48 pages. Randy A. Steinberg #1985497. Published by Randy A. Steinberg (A0.870393). Giovanni Gabrieli was no mere composer. He was an event. The figure at the nexus of many things all coming together in one grand tide. The greatest church in the greatest city of Europe. Freedom of intellectual thought. A Venetian School of composers at the forefront of musical innovation. The printing press and musical publishing. A Doge (Chief Magistrate or Duke) willing to spend, and spend big, on musical pomp and ceremony. A dearth of wealth and money to fund the grandest celebrations. He was the leading Italian composer and organist in Venice at its greatest heights at the chasm between the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque period in music. Presented here is the 27th Canzona published around 1608 for 3 trumpets and 5 trombones to be played as a single ensemble. A variety of substitute parts are also included to handle the trombone parts with any combination of cornets, French horns or tuba. This piece presents a wonderful dance-like chanson in 3/4 time that leads to a triumphant finish. A nice showpiece for the brass!

Is There a Place for DreamingIs there a place for dreamingIn the corners of your mind…In a world where dreams are broken,And dreamers hard to find?Do you dream and weep sometimesAbout the way that things should be?Come dreaming with me, come dreaming with me,Admission is free. Do you dream of another countryWhere there is no push and shove…where the rich don’t rule and the poor are fed,And the only law is love,And a neighbor is a neighbor, And there is trust and loyalty?Come dreaming with me, dreaming with me,Admission is free. When I was a boy, I used to daydream a lot,And they told me that it would not last;Wouldn’t have time for such a waste of my mind,When my life started moving fast. Now that I’m grown, I find that life with no dreamIs a hell I refuse to bear.If it’s alright, I want to open my mindAnd see if my dreams are still there. Is there a place for dreamingIn the corners of your mind…In a world where dreams are broken ,And dreamers hard to find?Do you dream and weep sometimesAbout the way that things should be?Come dreaming with me, come dreaming with me,Admission is free.

Mixed Percussion Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Trombone,Trumpet,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1435098 Composed by Stanley M Hoffman. 21st Century,Classical,Opera. 240 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #1015206. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1435098). Opera Scenes 1. At the Clothing Department (3:00); 2. To Get a Ration (9:00) - vocal soloists & piano or chamber ensemble (cl, bn, tpt, tbn, perc, vln, vc) with live or prerecorded crowd noise - 2021, 2024. The libretto is comprised of the insightful observations of a young Jewish boy—Abraham “Abramek” Koplowicz—who was trapped by the Nazis in the Lodz ghetto and who later died in Auschwitz. The libretto appears before each scene in the scores. This may be a relatively brief piece, but it is a major one for me and posthumously for the author. I am fortunate to be the only person given blanket gratis permission to set the words of Abraham Koplowicz to music. He composed a book of poetry, plays, and artwork while imprisoned in the Lodz Ghetto before perishing later in Auschwitz before he could become a Bar Mitzvah. The contents of that book are quite good, sophisticated for his age. Abraham's late half-brother, Eliezer Grynfeld—who found the book in the 1990s—and I eventually became good friends. The Pope once kissed Eliezer's hand. That is how highly regarded this collection is and, by some stroke of luck or fate, I have got exclusive musical rights to the book until it enters the public domain. In my settings of AT THE CLOTHING DEPARTMENT and TO GET A RATION, I combine the musical language of Schoenberg's A SURVIVOR FROM WARSAW very nearly with the instrumentation of Stravinsky's A SOLDIER'S TALE - only the percussion instruments differ. The musical language of these brief opera scenes is appropriately terse, very much in keeping with the oppressiveness of imprisonment. Please have a look and a listen. Thank you for your consideration. ---Words originally in Polish by Abraham (“Abramek”) Koplowicz (b. 1930, Lodz, Poland, d. 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau) Translation by Sarah Lawson and Ma?gorzata Koraszewska Adapted by Stanley M. What began as a writing exercise to develop educational materials for creative youth, A Simple Thank You quickly became a closing musical staple when presenting and working with educators and their classrooms. A simple lyric meets a simple melody that offers a simple thank you to its’ listeners is the simple meaning of this piece. Rodehorst’s arrangement of Johnson’s music and lyrics brings choral groups a great closing song be it to end a performance or to teach as a way to end each classroom interaction. Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497857 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 19 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074269. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497857). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Encircle, Between the Octaves, originally called rotate as its impetus was to generate a steadily rotating music. Encircle was later chosen as a more evocative word. The harmony surprised me as it suggested shifts and colourations that I would not have expected to conjure. Two upper rotating parts with melodic narrative are supported by bass and baritone lower parts. The final section adds a dance-like short form to end what could otherwise have run and run and run.  Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Large Ensemble,Rhythm Section Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.910421 Composed by Frank Loesser. Arranged by David Heywood. Contemporary. Score and parts. 56 pages. David Heywood #5200683. Published by David Heywood (A0.910421). On a Slow Boat to China has been a favorite of jazz musicians for over 75 years because of its grooving melody and fantastic chord changes. In that tradition, here is a hard swinging arrangement for four flutes (Three C Flutes and Alto Flute) along with rhythm section. After a dramatic chromatic introduction, the groove is set by a bass ostinato pedal that helps the melody build to the second half. All four flutes have a shot at the melody before opening up for solos for everyone over these great changes. After the solos, there is a stop time flute feature where a written out line is passed back and forth between all the players giving the effect of a group improvisation. It finishes with the same high-energy ostinato pedal. The chart includes written out piano voicings and bass lines, along with an optional guitar part. At a medium advanced level, this chart is well within the reach of most doublers, and is a swinging addition to any program!
