Composing this piece had been my was of processing the pain I had been carrying for all those years following his tragic death, and this is my way of grieving, processing, accepting, and ultimately sharing my memories of him and to remember him since that fateful day in 2016.

Riding a toboggan down a hill on a cold, winter afternoon is always fun, but at night make for a terrifically terrifying time. It's cold, and dark and you never know what's around the next banking turn. Excitement and Terror combine to create an adventure you will always remember. The Terrifically Terrifying Toboggan Trek is my second piece for very easy percussion ensemble with the beginning percussionists in mind. The piece has been scored by utilizing patterns which are relatively easy to learn. Layering and varying the patterns makes a fun and interesting piece to learn and perform. In addition, the use of the Alphanotes allows the new percussionist to review reading notes as they learn a piece which is most likely more difficult than they would normally perform. This will allow the students to focus on time keeping and listening. All the pattern as found on the back of each part. In 410, he was popularly chosen as Bishop of Ptolemais, a position he reluctantly accepted, as his views on certain beliefs of the church, including the soul's creation, a literal resurrection, and the end of the world (eschatos) were unorthodox. In the last of 10 odes Synesius authored, he describes himself bowing humbly in the presence of Christ. In the 8th century, a monk named Dallan Forgaill wrote the Irish poem, Rop tú mo Baile (Be Thou my Vision), to remember and honor the faith that St. Patrick had shown in his defiance of King Logaire of Tara’s decree three centuries earlier. His poetry lived on as a part of the Irish monastic tradition for centuries until, in the early 20th century, Mary Elizabeth Byrne translated the poem into English, and in 1912, Eleanor Hull versified the text into what is now the lyrics of a well-loved hymn. The music SLANE is an ancient Irish folk tune which became a hymn tune when it was arranged by David Evans and set to the Irish hymn Be Thou My Vision in 1927.  This hymn acts as a prayer to our God that He would be the first that we seek after, and continually refocus the direction of our life.  This arrangement is for 4 part male harmony (TTBB) a cappella.
