Flugelhorn,Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284795 Composed by Ho Fong Leong. Classical,Contemporary,New Age. 17 pages. Marco leong #875974. Published by Marco leong (A0.1284795). Alternate arrangement for Violin, Flugelhorn and Piano, Aug 2023.Dedicated to Simon, Leo and Wellington School as a parting gift. Scored for Violin, Horn and Piano. Premiered in St George's Bristol, September 2019. “And then we see†is dedicated to the wonderful people I have met throughout my journey in Wellington School, especially to two of my very good friends – Simon, a euphonist; and Leo, a ‘cellist. Originally planned to be written for Piano, ‘Cello and Euphonium, and to be finished and performed in our last school concert as a goodbye gift, I had however not managed to complete the work before graduation. I have therefore taken this opportunity to express my emotions and sentiments from the time with this newly written piece. One can therefore very easily sense the nostalgia pouring right from the very beginning of the music, as I reminisce our years together. It is based loosely on a ternary structure (ABA) – the A section depicts the moment of farewell. One can hear the violin plays a very simple, bell-like melody, representing the bell-strikes which signify that it is the end of a long journey – time to say goodbye. The B section, based on the very same melody, transforms itself into a 6/8 dance. This dance depicts the pang and melancholia as we bid farewell, leading to a passionate climax. The A section then returns with the melody in its original form, announced by the horn. The coda concludes the piece, trying to move away from the tonic, representing the start of a new chapter in our journey and our optimistic feelings about it. Throughout the piece there are also quotes from the famous Westminster chimes, and variants of it, enforcing the bell imagery.

Solo, SS choir divisi, cello, organ, and handbells - Moderately Easy - Digital Download SKU: MQ.56-0030-E Composed by Howard Goodall. Instrument parts. 9 pages. Duration 5 minutes, 58 seconds. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #56-0030-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.56-0030-E). Latin. Matthew 5:3-11.Written for the Enchanted Voices CD, this is one of many settings of texts either from the Beatitudes (or springing from them) available from this composer. For soloist, SS chorus (divisi), organ, cello, and handbells, the music has a light, ethereal feeling. A unison chant-line begins the piece unaccompanied. The organ enters with a drone as the chant continues. At the text “vocabuntur (called)†the voices split into three parts in a beautiful moment of radiance. There is a cello solo (13 measures) which restates the chant melody. The voice enter wordlessly as the cello continues. Finally, the chant melody reappears in the voices, in canon, as the music ends. Duration 5:58Instrumentalists play from the choral score.

Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.873044 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. 12 pages. Sally Whitwell #6130719. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873044). If you really pushed me to make a call, Mussorsgky’s Pictures at an Exhibition would be one of my favourite pieces in the classical repertoire. Somewhat outrageously, for a pianist, I prefer the colours and textures of the orchestrated version. I reasonably regularly listen to it, especially in transit. But to be honest, it’s not the kind of music that I perform all that often i.e. music by dead, white, male composers. I mean, it’s 2020 and as the meme says I can’t believe I still have to protest this sh*t. And I feel it too for those in the visual art world. I mean, things are a good deal better over there in contemporary art world, where women are exhibited regularly and everyone seems to embrace it without a fuss. As for women artists from centuries gone by, it’s less good news but they’re working on it. I’m reminded of the situation daily as my older brother, who is excellent at choosing gifts thoughtfully, gave me some Guerrilla Girls merchandise which I use as an iPad cover. Entitled Advantages of Being a Woman Artist, it’s a list of truths that’s pretty relatable for any creative woman. My favourite bit - Being reassured that whatever kind of art you make it will be labeled feminine. Ooft. Too real. And so I conceived of this song cycle as a kind of gift for those fighting the traditional, patriarchal structures of the entire creative sector. Three songs, inspired by three works by three wonderful Australian women artists of last century. All are depictions of scenes around Sydney Harbour. In-curve is inspired by Grace Cossington Smith’s The Bridge in-curve, a depiction of an unfinished Sydney Harbour Bridge, painted in 1930 The Code is inspired by Thea Proctor’s woodcut print Women with fans. It is thought to be a portrait of two other artists, printmakers Ethel Spowers and Eveline Syme, sitting above Rushcutters Bay. Where would we sail? is inspired by a very different view of the same location Still life and Rushcutters Bay by Margaret Olley.

Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.841180 By James Taylor. By James Taylor. Arranged by John Murphy C.S.M.V. Rock. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. John Murphy #5792957. Published by John Murphy (A0.841180). You Can Close Your Eyes     James TaylorLearn this classic James Taylor song and master his characteristic finger picking guitar technique. You will learn: 4/4 Fingerpicking rhythm patterns that you can use in many other songs and other genres.Popular and widely used great guitar chord inversions (also sometimes called slash chords, e.g. G/B )to create interesting bass lines that complement the melody of the tune and give direction and forward momentum to the song’s chord progression. Bass driven chord progressions are a characteristic feature of accomplished guitarists like James Taylor and Chet Atkins.‘Clawhammer’ technique or ‘Travis picking’ are the names often given to a style of playing four bass notes to the bar (usually alternating from root to fifth of the chord played with the R.H.thumb). If you listen to the great country guitarist Chet Atkins you will hear this ‘clawhammer’ style in most of his guitar arrangements.Useful hammer-ons/pull-offs and passing notes that will improve your technique and add a professional touch to enhance your guitar performances. See bar for 8 hammer on the A sus chord and also on the B minor in bar 32. Note the pull off on G chord in bar 11.Intro and outro sections are included in this James Taylor guitar arrangement of ‘You can close your eyes’Most songs have intros and outros so that the singer can get the tempo and start in the right key. However, many published arrangements often just start on a pick-up note or two on the last beat of the bar with no chord indicated and end the song on a chord that is not the tonic or main key chord that tells the listener the song has ended. ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ by John Denver is a good example. In the key of ‘D’ the song starts with the notes ‘C#’ and ‘E’ and then the first bar is indicated as ‘D’ major chord. If you start the song playing a ‘D’ chord you will most likely sing the wrong notes because ‘C#’ and ‘E’ belong to the A7 chord of the song. So a simple 2 bar intro of ‘D’ , A7 (start singing on the last beat) and back to ‘D’ would help the singer to get the tempo and sing the correct pick-up notes. The printed sheet music of ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ ends on an ‘A7’ chord of the chorus and as such does not indicate that the end chord should be ‘D’. So it is not always safe to assume that the end chord in printed music indicates the key of the song. Lyrics with chord symbols to show when to change chords. Matching the fingerpicking tab or sheet music to the lyrics can sometimes prove difficult so I have included a lyrics sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ with chord symbols. This is a very popular format to give an indication when to change chords. However, the drawback is that there is no way of knowing how long each chord lasts as the bar structure is missing. But once you learn the bar structure from the sheet music or tab part you will find this Lyrics and chords sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ your go to page for performing the song until you know it from memory.Downloads available Include:Score Tab Chords Lyrics For GuitarNotes Chords Lyrics For GuitarTab Chords Lyrics For GuitarIf you like or buy this arrangement it helps if you leave even a brief review- two words( very good) or even better one word (Awesome) :) Contact me at info@guitarlessonsdundrum.com

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028153 Composed by Emil Johansson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score. 3 pages. Emil Johansson #3389375. Published by Emil Johansson (A0.1028153). The polska is a musical form found in Swedish folk Music with a distinctive rhythm which accents the 1 and 3rd beat. Emil Johansson has taken the form and applied it to the classical piano repertoire. The piece reflects feelings from the deepest of sadness to the purest of joy. I recomend anyone who wants to play this piece to listen to some of the polskas of Swedish folk Music Before you start practicing this piece to get a sens of how it should be played. I also recomend to practice each individual melody in the right hand by them selves at first. And the Cantabile section should be played with a good legato.

Stewart. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk,Singer/Songwriter. 13 pages. Scott S. Stewart #951873. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.1367524). “The Pirate of Penance†(1968) by Joni Mitchell from her album “Song to a Seagullâ€, is a story about two women and their relationship with a mysterious pirate caught in the twist of a murder. This arrangement calls for 3 women: Penance Crane (soprano), Singer (mezzo-soprano), Dancer (mezzo-soprano or alto); and pianist. It's composed with the brilliance of folk singer Mitchell and her ability to spin a good yarn. And it’s a welcome addition to those in a Young Artist program looking for contemporary ensemble music to round out their programming - particularly good on a G & S inspired program. Performance time: 2:45+-.
