The choral writing is not difficult though it has some chromatic alteration in the 3rd line of each verse with the harmony somewhat different each time. The relaxed piano accompaniment is generally very supportive of the singers so the piece should be accessible for most choirs. It would make a nice addition to the church choral library.

Lastly, Spiritus Sanctus, or Holy Spirit, depicted by the floating sound above the entire chorus like a dove, descending on Jesus during His Baptism.

The text has been adapted into contemporary English. The multiple verses of the poem are set with slight modifications to the melody, and the harmony and choral texture are also changed with each verse. The listener and performer will immediately notice the juxtaposition of D major and D minor tonality which is the biggest challenge for the singers. The organ accompaniment provides full support for much of the work making it accessible for most four-part choirs and a nice addition into the Advent and Christmas repertoire.
