The Heavens Are Telling is a very accessible classic SATB anthem for choir and organ.  I took two lines of music and lyrics from Haydn's 1797 oratorio The Creation and made that my chorus.  I then wrote verses using lyrics from other parts of The Creation and then wrote new music for the verses to sound like a continuation of Haydn's work.  The structure is through composed but with Ch/Vs/Ch/Vs/Ch/Ch with the final chorus having the lines reversed.  The piece makes a stately declaration of the wonders of God's creation of the heavens.  11 pages; 1:50 minutesThe range for each part is only 1 octave.Be the first choir to record this anthem and send me the link and I will post it.    plbeaman@gmail.com      Temporarily I have attached a recording of the vocal solo version, which is in another key, so you can get the text and main melody; which is then followed by a MIDI version of organ and 'aahs', to give you an idea of the SATB version.

The donkey is the beast of burden of the common man. (Analogous to an economic or dilapidated automobile.) Horses were primarily used by soldiers; something like a victor riding into town in a tank. Mules (Jewish law forbade the breeding of hybrid animals) were the choice of the wealthy. In Judea, they were evidently imported. David had Solomon ride into Jerusalem on his mule (something like a sports car.) But Zechariah sees Messiah will presenting Himself as king riding the transportation of the common person. Bach, consists in a counterpoint explosion of the harmonies through a melodic construction that sometimes corresponds to one of the themes identifiable in the original piece and sometimes has been entirely reinvented; to facilitate the vocal performance of each of the four voices, Alessio Niccolai adapted a text to the musical sequences: it is made up of a set of ancient Latin proverbs.The execution is not the easiest: a casual pronunciation of Italian is certainly optimal for being able to correctly execute the Latin passages.
