Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370325 Composed by John McAllister. 21st Century,Contest,Festival,Instructional,March,Patriotic. 58 pages. John McAllister #954701. Published by John McAllister (A0.1370325). Compton Bridge Road is a musical journey inspired by the scenic drive along Compton Bridge Road in Inman, South Carolina. The undulating hills stretching endlessly beneath the warm embrace of the setting sun served as the impetus for this composition. Written for the Chapman High School Band, the march captures the essence of the picturesque landscape surrounding the school. The piece is loosely characterized as a pastoral march, reflecting the intention to infuse harmonies and melodies that resonate with the spirit of Americana. Drawing inspiration from how Aaron Copland's music mirrors the landscapes it depicts, the composition aims to create a sonic representation of the visual beauty of Inman. Not adhering strictly to traditional march conventions, the piece incorporates a lush trio section, enhancing the overall sense of grandeur and tranquility. While Compton Bridge Road may deviate from the conventional march style, it remains a valuable educational tool, providing opportunities for students to explore different musical elements and forms within the context of a march. This composition offers a refreshing perspective, allowing musicians to expand their understanding of the genre while maintaining essential march style and structure.

String Ensemble,String Quintet Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813523 Composed by Shaker Song (attr. Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr.). Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Concert,Folk,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 11 pages. Regis Bookshar #6349853. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813523). Viola Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. Simple Gifts ('Tis the Gift to Be Simple), an American Shaker Song, written in 1848 and attributed to Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr. of Alfred, Maine, would be a great addition to any music library. The song was largely unknown outside Shaker communities until Aaron Copland used its melody for the score of Martha Graham's ballet, Appalachian Spring, first performed in 1944. Simple Gifts has now been arranged for a Viola Quintet by Regis Bookshar. It is suitable for high school and college students, and, depending upon their ability, even elementary school students. Professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. It could be performed for concerts and church services. The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has often performed it for Weddings. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (11 pages). In addition to this arrangement of Simple Gifts for a Viola Quintet, other arrangements of this tune are also available. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might also interest you. Please continue to check periodically because I continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this arrangement of Simple Gifts will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

On that day, amid accompanying splendour, the music-loving Grand Duke Michail Nikolaievich (1832-1909), youngest brother of Tsar Alexander II, married Princess Caecilie of Baden (1839-91), daughter of Archduke Leopold of Baden. Johann Strauss, who at that time was giving a summer season of concerts in nearby Pavlovsk, used the opportunity occasioned by the event to enhance his already enviable popularity with the Russian royal family and composed the Caecilien-Polka in honour of the lovely young bride. Indeed, it is clear from a letter which Johann wrote in late July 1857 to Carl Haslinger, his publisher in Vienna, that the new polka had been prepared well in advance of the wedding (the fair copy of the full orchestral score made for the publisher's engraver is dated 9 August) and was enjoying success even before the royal couple's official engagement on 16August 1857. Sometime after performing the Caecilien-Polka in Pavlovsk, Johann despatched the work to the Austrian capital where his brother Josef conducted its Viennese première, together with that of Johann's waltz Telegraphische Depeschen (op. 195, Volume 28), at his own benefit concert in the Volksgartenon Sunday 18 October 1857. The Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (16.10.1857) remarked that both works have caused a sensation in St. Petersburg and are truly genial Viennese sounds full of verve and melody. Since tradition demanded that the German Princess Caecilie adopt a Russian name - Olga Feodorovna - before her marriage, so Johann's Caecilien-Polka also underwent a change of identity. On 8 December 1857 Carl Haslinger announced the publication of Strauss's Olga-Polka, on the title page of which is the inscription: Dedicated to her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga, née Princess of Baden. It was under this title, too, that Johann himself first conducted the work in Vienna at a concert in the Volksgarten on 1 November 1857, shortly after his return from Russia. Reporting on this event, the Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (3.11.1857) observed: The 'Olga-Polka' is a most delightful, fragrant musical bouquet, full of fine, gracious rhythms. Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.781970 Composed by Terry Rendall and Werner Thomas. Arranged by Aaron Hettinga. Children,Contemporary,Folk,Multicultural,Standards,World. 12 pages. Aaron Hettinga #6014805. Published by Aaron Hettinga (A0.781970). This wedding reception/dance party standard is presented here in an arrangement for Brass Quintet. As this song meant to be a fun participation number, much interpretation of tempo and form will be left to the performers. It’s best to start moderately slow, then increase tempo a little more every time taking the D.S. There is no need to limit a performance to following this road map once through, be ready to repeat it for as long as your dancers are still active...and up to as fast as your players can handle! Flexibility: The 5 core brass parts will work fully freestanding on their own without drums as the accompaniment can propel itself forward without depending on the drummer alone for the rhythm. This arrangement’s package includes a sub part for Alto Sax in place of the F Horn. Find more from this arranger at https://aaronhettinga.com
