Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1339620 Composed by Conrad Ho. 21st Century,Baroque,Classical,Early Music. 16 pages. Conrad Ho #925324. Published by Conrad Ho (A0.1339620). This is a sort of theme and variation composed based on on the La Folia progression in late-April 2023. La Folia is a common composition back in the Baroque era. Vivaldi did it, Lully did it, Coreli did it. Even though Bach never composed anything named La Folia, it is used in his composition as well. In this version, it is intended for a baroque woodwind ensemble. Ideally, it should be played at A = 415 Hz where possible but modern instrument is acceptable. Although the art of improvisation is no longer popular amongst classical musician these days, applying improvisation in ornaments is highly recommended.

Banjo,Bass Guitar,Ukulele - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.913058 Composed by Andrei Lucian Dragoi. Instructional. 8 pages. Andrei-Lucian Dragoi #5741645. Published by Andrei-Lucian Dragoi (A0.913058). This paper proposes a sketch-version of a unifying beginners’ cost-effective teaching/learning method for any fretted string instrument (like ukulele, guitalele, mandolin and guitar) using the same 4-strings tuning which may be also used to teach/learn the basic music theory and practice elements: more specifically, the standard tuning of the central 4 strings of the guitar may be applied (non-standardly!) to all the other cited smaller (thus more portable) instruments (like ukulele, guitalele and mandolin) which may be used either independently/separately or as  preparatory instruments for the purpose of teaching guitar (and music theory) after that first teaching/learning phase on a smaller instrument (or on a 4-strings guitar). This unifying method may largely open the horizons of children (and beginners in general, to experience more than one instrument) and may also help poor children/persons (who don’t afford a guitar) to be taught the guitar basics (including important elements of music theory) on much cheaper (smaller) instruments (who are generally much more accessible): that is why this method also addresses to all music teaching systems from all poor countries worldwide. For those who have a guitar or a guitalele and want to apply this method, they may easily remove the 1st and the 6th guitar/guitalele strings (E4 and E2): the resting nucleus composed from the 4 central strings is sufficient to teach/learn all the basic theoretical and practical notions of guitar (or any other fretted string instrument) and music in general. This paper also contains some examples of songs (written in English and Romanian languages) with included chords (aka tabulatures), each song displayed in one tonality (C major or its relative A minor) or two tonalities (C major [/A minor] and G major [/ E minor]) which can then be altered by using a capodastro (aka capo) to fit any tonality and thus fit the ambitus and tessitura (the most acceptable and comfortable vocal range) of any child/adult voice. For a periodically-updated extensive online catalog of harmonized/ chorded songs see URL: http://dragoii.com/hcs This paper continues the work of other past articles/preprints of the same author in music.

Dardanus Variations for Solo Cello is a set of variations on a thematic fragment from Dardanus, a tragédie-lyrique by J.P. Rameau (1683-1764). Each variation depicts a different scene from the opera.I: Entrance of Dardanus: Son of Electra and JupiterII: King Teucer proposes the marriage of his daughter Iphise to King AnténorIII: King Anténor accepts Iphise to become his brideIV: Ismenor the Wizard introduces Iphise to DardanusV: Dardanus encounters the sea monsterVI: The Sea Monster creates havoc for King AnténorVII: Dardanus falls in love with IphiseVIII: Dardanus slays the Sea Monster, saving King Anténor's lifeIX: King Teucer and Dardanus make peaceX: King Teucer permits for Dardanus to marry IphiseXI: The Proposal of DardanusXII: Iphise rejects the proposalXIII: The Second Proposal of DardanusIXV: Wedding Dance Dardanus is connected to the Trojan War through his lineage and the founding of the royal house of Troy. The Dardanoi, the descendants of Dardanus, formed a contingent among Troy's allies in the Trojan War. The House of Dardanus, of which Dardanus was the founder, played a significant role in the lead-up to the war. The city of Troy, founded by Dardanus's descendant, Ilus, was central to the myths surrounding the Trojan War. Additionally, Aeneas, a prominent figure in the Trojan War, was referred to as a Dardanian and was destined to save the House of Dardanus from extinction. Therefore, Dardanus's lineage and the founding of Troy are the critical connections between Dardanus and the Trojan War.Ancestry and Founder: Dardanus was the son of Zeus and the Pleiad Electra. He was the mythical founder of Dardania on the Hellespont and the ancestor of the Dardanians of the Troad and, through Aeneas, of the Romans.Migration and Settlement: According to mythology, Dardanus fled from Arcadia to the island of Samothrace and then to the Troad, where Teucer, the ruler of Phrygia, hospitably received him. He married Teucer's daughter Bateia and became the founder of the royal house of Troy.Family and Descendants: Dardanus married Chryse, with whom he fathered two sons, Idaeus and Deimas. He later married Batea and had several children, including Erichthonius, who became the ancestor of many famous individuals in the Troad, including Tros, Ganymede, Laomedon, and Priam.Cultural Depictions: Dardanus has been the subject of various operas by composers such as Jean-Philippe Rameau, Carl Stamitz, and Antonio Sacchini, reflecting the enduring influence of his mythological story.Legacy: Dardanus lives on in the Dardanelles, the narrow strait separating Asia and Europe, once known as the Hellespont, a name also linked to Greek mythology. These facts highlight Dardanus's role as a critical figure in the foundation of Dardania and the royal house of Troy and his rich and enduring mythological legacy.
