This score is based on the soundtrack to HBO’s Game of Thrones TV mini-series, rather than on the simplified piano arrangement published by Hal Leonard. Ramin Djawadi, the Iranian-German composer of the original soundtrack said, in interview, he used a traditional Japanese tako drum in the background.  The TV producers told him : No flutes.  He particularly likes to use the cello in his scores and also to have unusual instruments.   In my arrangement, I used the cello as the lead instrument, together with strings, a tako drum and bass brass.  Also at the end is a very short solo by a Japanese shamisen, a traditional three-string guitar and a short choral background, as in the original score.   The tako drum can be replaced by a bass drum;  the shamisen can be replaced by an acoustic guitar; and the voices are purely optional. To enable you to listen to the full score, I’ve created a video on Vimeo, adding a new audio soundtrack of my score to the opening titles. It belongs to the genre of the azione teatrale, meaning an opera on a mythological subject with choruses and dancing. Orfeo ed Euridice is the first of Gluck's reform operas, in which he attempted to replace the abstruse plots and overly complex music of opera seria (serious) with a noble simplicity in both the music and the drama.I have also arranged the Aria from this work for a brass quintet with the French Horn as agile soloist. You might like to combine the two movements, like is often heard when performed or broadcasted.

The melodic content is based on the progression, II - V - I - vi - V/V - V, which is then brought through multiple tonal centers throughout the piece. In the development section, a response to this progression appears, ii - V - I - V6 - vi - ii - I - V, and is also brought through multiple tonal centers. Both themes appear in the recapitulation, which is followed by a small coda to conclude the piece.When faced with adversity, it is important to follow God's plan for us and float through the Sea of Faith to reach the promised land.Composed by Tyler J. With every step, the hero fights the tropes of mythology, but can they escape their own fate?Movement I: The Calling introduces our main theme naively. It's done in a style reflective of all action/adventure genres: romantically boastful, one dimensional and confident. But as the call to adventure imposes itself on the hero, the hero begins to think that all is not what it seems to be.Movement II: The Motions is a set of trials where the hero experiences great loss, triumphant battles, and a renewed image. Yet, that is just the cycle they expected and its trite conclusion and three act distinction troubles the hero.Movement III: A Fool’s Reckoning is a response to being a pawn in someone else’s story. It takes all learned elements and tries to distort them to be something new and different. But what if this transformation was all part of the same cycle? The hero fights until they forget what they fight for. Reluctantly resilient, they carry on wondering if there was ever anything heroic about them at all.
