It is in a darkly reflective style. Some of the sounds in the melody and harmony you hear might not sound quite right because it is in neither major or minor. This particular mode is not used as much as some of the others because of the minor 2nd in the scale and because there is not a true dominant feeling chord because the V chord does not have a perfect fifth and is naturally a diminished chord. Sometimes I like to write a piece that is just an exercise in 20th century music theory utilizing the ancient modes.
