Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.741181 Arranged by Anne Britt. African,Children,World. Score. 3 pages. Anne Britt #3481757. Published by Anne Britt (A0.741181). The word lalela is Zulu for listen. And although Do Your Ears Hang Low? is a silly children’s song, keeping your ear to the ground, or listening for clues as to what is about to happen, can be very important, and in some situations can save your life. In some African tribes, stretched ears are symbolic of wisdom. The bass line in this early intermediate piano solo arrangement simulates a djembe – a versatile African drum that is played with the bare hand and can be very loud. 3 pages. Performance time: approximately 2:30.Also available as part of the Piano Remixes: Kid Songs Vol. 1 early intermediate songbook: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20756041Visit the publisher's website for contact info and some free sheet music downloads: https://annebrittmusic.com/

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.947319 Composed by Fred Onovwerosuoke. African,Christian,Contemporary,World. 6 pages. African Music Publishers #2029757. Published by African Music Publishers (A0.947319). In Aleluya (Hareruya) I have tried to recapture an endearing tradition I observed in Shona-speaking Gospel churches around Zimbabwe. The spirit of exhilaration, that special moment of optimal joy and total abandon in the worship of God, for his perfect son, Jesus, the Christ. It is an acclamation of God’s unconditional love, celebrating the birth, life, passion and resurrection of Jesus. Such celebration usually would be complete with the mystical sounds of the mbira thumb piano for which Zimbabwe’s musical contribution has become legendary. In fact, pitching the piece in the key of F# enables the accompanist to reinforce that tactile effect of the mbira.

Brass Band Bass Trombone,Euphonium,Flugelhorn,Piccolo Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1047096 Composed by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,World. 80 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #651613. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1047096). This brilliant brass choir arrangement captures the excitement of the composer’s orchestral showpiece Danse Nègre from his African Suite, Op. 35. Born of an African father, Coleridge-Taylor was an early 20th century English composer and conductor who was an influential advocate for Black composers. The five-minute arrangement is scored for four B-flat trumpets (1st trumpet doubles on piccolo B-flat; trumpets 3 and 4 double on flugelhorn), 4 horns, 3 trombones, euphonium and tuba with brass orchestration that mirrors the texture and excitement of Coleridge-Taylor's orchestral work to inspire performers and excite audiences. Consider this impressive arrangement to feature your band or orchestra brass section on your next concert. The recording is of the entire arrangement. “The Music of Black Composers Series is a welcome and timely addition to the brass repertoire. Organ and Djembé - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q18144 In memoriam Albert Schweitzer. Composed by Enjott Schneider. This edition: score and part. Downloadable, Score and part. Duration 7' 30. Schott Music - Digital #Q18144. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q18144). 'African Patchwork' was created for the European 'Albert Schweitzer Year 2013' in remembrance of the foundation of the hospital in Lambaréne 100 years ago (1913). The organ sound, thought of as an ideal here, is the typical 'Albert Schweitzer sound': romantic, soft diapasons and string parts, hardly any mixtures, cymbals and tongues. This dark fundamental sound is joined by the djembé with its richness of high harmonics and its ability of modulation (the best-known of the African drums can be used in different sizes). Depending on the percussionist's creativity, the percussion part, notated in a quite rudimentary way, can be extended by various playing techniques, drum changes and pitch modulations of the drumhead. The notated percussion part can also be used as a basis for intuitive and improvisational playing.
