Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1392870 Composed by Richard John (Gb1) Thompson. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Folk. 7 pages. Peet du Toit #976395. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1392870). The Banks O' Doon (Modern Scots: The Banks o Doon) is a Scots song written by Robert Burns in 1791, sometimes known as Ye Banks and Braes (after the opening line of the third version). Burns set the lyrics to an air called The Caledonian Hunt's Delight. Its melodic schema was also used for Phule Phule Dhole Dhole, a song by Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore. The song was inspired by the story of Margaret (Peggy) Kennedy (1766—95), who was seduced and then abandoned by Andrew McDouall, the son of a wealthy family and sometime Member of Parliament for Wigtonshire. Kennedy sued for a declarator of marriage, but died prior to adjudication of the case. Although the Consistorial court found the marriage claim valid, the Court of Session decided the marriage claim failed, but found McDouall to be the father of Kennedy's daughter and ordered that he pay £3,000 to Kennedy's estate and provide for the child.(Burns wrote a second poem about Peggy, who he had met when she was 18 - Young Peggy Blooms.).

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.766998 Composed by Emile Waldteufel, Franz Lehar, Josef Ivanovici, Juventino Rosas, and Rudolf Sieczynski. Arranged by Bob Delfausse. Concert,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and parts. 18 pages. Robert Delfausse #5324739. Published by Robert Delfausse (A0.766998). These five very famous waltzes were all written for full orchestra.  While this arrangement for string trio does not claim to have the grandeur of orchestral performances, it does claim maximum musicality and fun.  I made the arrangement at the request of friends in a string trio, and they have made good use of it, often at weddings.  Enjoy!  Level: intermediate and above.  Duration: 4 minutes, 51 seconds.

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802693 Composed by Anon. or Fernando Sor, or Narciso Yepes. Arranged by Shigeo Ida & Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 6 pages. Peet du Toit #6513457. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802693). Romance Anónimo (Anonymous Romance) is a piece for guitar, also known as Estudio en Mi de Rubira (Study in E by Rubira), Spanish Romance, Romance de España, Romance de Amor, Romance of the Guitar, Romanza and Romance d'Amour among other names. Its origins and authorship are currently in question. It is suspected of originally being a solo instrumental guitar work, from the 19th century. It has variously been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gómez, and Narciso Yepes. The Anónimo (anonymous) part of its name has been incorporated over the years due to this uncertainty. The question of authorship has probably been propagated by three main reasons: the lack of claim by its true author, the desire to avoid paying copyright fees, and the desire of publishing companies to claim the lucrative copyright of this world-famous piece. The style of the piece is that of the Parlour music of the late 19th century in Spain or South America, having a closed three-part form: the first in the minor key and the second being in the major key, with the third being a restatement of the first.Narciso Yepes (1927 - 1997) interpreted and is listed as the author of the piece in René Clément's 1952 film Jeux interdits (Forbidden Games). The popularity of the film gave the piece worldwide fame. Yepes currently has the copyright of this composition in Spain although recordings and manuscripts of this song predate 1952. Newer publications show Yepes as the arranger and the piece being of anonymous authorship, or authored by Fernando Sor.The official statement from Narciso Yepes and the Yepes heirs is that Narciso Yepes, being a young boy, originally composed the piece for his mother when he was about seven years old (c.1934) and soon thereafter performed it between acts at the Teatro Guerra, in Lorca, Spain. Some time later, he recounts, when he was thirteen years old he attended a performance in Valencia and heard his composition performed by another guitarist, who indicated the authorship as anonymous. Yepes contends that the melody had been plagiarized (with some changes to the arrangement) by someone who, he assumes, must have attended that first performance. However, Yepes was born 1927 and cannot be the author of the work, since it was already recorded in 1900 and published before 1925 (possibly 1913) by J.A. MEDINA e HIJO; and in 1919 in themethod of Pedro Mascaró y Reissig, etc. Vicente Gomez (1911-2001) published it and performed it in 1941 in the Hollywood movie Blood and Sand with Tyrone Powerand Rita Hayworth, also attributing authorship of the song to himself. Anyway, the piano arrangement of the brilliant Shigeo Ida caught my attention and I decided to rework it somewhat into this trio for strings. Enjoy!

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1491758 By Keith Terrett. By Roy Williamson. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 10 pages. Keith Terrett #1068437. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1491758). As of February 2024, the Scottish Government have not yet formally adopted an official national anthem of Scotland, despite having the legal competence in order to do so. ] During a meeting of the Enterprise and Culture Committee on 9 May 2006 in the Scottish Parliament, MSP Michael Matheson raised the question about the status of Scotland's national anthem, citing during the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, there was some debate about a Scottish national anthem, largely because a number of songs were being used as our national anthem. However, in recent discussions on the matter, no consensus was reached, other than on the point that we should have a national anthem. At that time, there was suggestions that the incumbent First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell had claimed that a debate on an official national anthem for Scotland should take place to address the issue.MSP Murdo Fraser expressed concerns over the three most popular candidates for an official national anthem of Scotland – Flower of Scotland, Scotland the Brave and Highland Cathedral. In his speech to the committee, he claimed Flower of Scotland is inappropriate because some of the sentiments that are expressed in it are jingoistic and anti-English; Scotland the Brave is inappropriate because, although it is a good tune, it does not have words that match the upbeat nature of the music; and Highland Cathedral is a good tune, but it has no words at all.

SAB choir, Piano (With Optional Full Orchestra) - Digital Download SKU: LX.55-1097L Royal Servant...Rejected Friend...Risen Christ!. Composed by Joseph M Martin and Lloyd Larson. Choral Cantatas. Easter, Lent. 92 pages. Exaltation Publications #e55/1097L. Published by Exaltation Publications (LX.55-1097L). ISBN 9780893282226. UPC: 000308106893.Those who witnessed the life and ministry of Jesus were consistently mixed in their verdicts about who He was. Many claimed Him to be the long-awaited Messiah while others claimed Him a fraud. Some accepted that He came bearing messages of peace and love while others were looking for a king who would conquer with power and might. Confusion surrounded even Christ's most devoted followers in His final days when He was rejected and crucifed...only to be followed by the unprecedented events of the resurrection, resulting in a compelling affirmation: This was indeed the King of all kings! Lloyd Larson and Joseph M. Martin combine their extensive writing experiences and talents to provide a distinctive and inspired look at the ministry and final days of Jesus' life. Creative choral settings, utilizing both new and familiar melodies and texts, make this a worthy selection for the Lenten season. Most of the anthems may also be used individually throughout the Lenten season.
