Score and parts. 27 pages. Joseph Hasper #3563009. Published by Joseph Hasper (A0.734831). The Hoagy Carmichael signature tune arranged for combo with four horns (trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, trombone) and rhythm section (piano, bass, and drums). Key of Db. 80 measures. Includes a full score and complete set of parts.Stardust was composed in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics added in 1929 by Mitchell Parish. According to Carmichael, the inspiration for Stardust came to him while he was on the campus of his alma mater, Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. He began whistling the tune, then rushed to the Book Nook, a popular student hangout, and started composing. He worked to refine the melody over the course of the next several months. There have been many interpretations of the standard over the decades, both as a jazz instrumental and as a popular song. Some artists who have recorded Stardust include Bing Crosby, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Art Tatum, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Django Reinhardt, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Lester Young, Erroll Garner, Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Wynton Marsalis, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Joni James, Nat King Cole, Mel Tormé, Connie Francis, Harry Connick Jr, Ella Fitzgerald, Barry Manilow, Pat Boone, Willie Nelson, George Benson, Al Hirt, and even Bob Dylan.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977357 Composed by Sid Ramin. Arranged by Des McNutty. Contemporary. Score and parts. 16 pages. Des Press #6445797. Published by Des Press (A0.977357).  Originally an instrumental jingle for Pepsi commercials by Sid Ramin, Music to Watch Girls By had already charted twice - thanks to The Bob Crewe Generation and Al Hirt – before Andy Williams’ vocal version, with lyrics by Tony Velona, appeared as a single from his 1967 album Born Free. This arrangement for string quartet is a relatively straight-forward idiomatic transcription in the same tonalities as the original recording, so you could even play along with it for fun. The level is on the easier side of advanced; quickly rehearsed by professional quartets and an accessible challenge for experienced students.  Enjoy!

Small Ensemble B-Flat Clarinet,Bass Clarinet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889423 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Christmas,Concert,Instructional. Score and parts. 8 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #3692949. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889423). The clarinet quartet arrangement of Break Forth, O Beauteous, Heavenly Light, was made for the 2018 Holiday Contest Entry. Martin Luther developed the Lutheran chorale, a religious hymn sung in four-part harmony by the congregation as part of the service. Break Forth, O Beauteous, Heavenly Light was written by Johann Rist and Johann Schop in the mid-17th century, so that by 1734, when Bach included it in his Christmas Oratorio, it was well known to congregations. The harmonization, however, is Bach ‘s own. The arrangement remains faithful to the original facsimile of Bach. It is transposed for a modern clarinet quartet.  Variations in loudness and the duration of musical notes are the basic elements to musical expression. A few interpretation symbols where added to shorten some of the notes.  Breathing between music phrases is notated.  and the final was stretched with one more bar for a ralentando effect.  This details are only suggestions for an interpretation.    The piece is appropriate for beginner students or amateurs and without any doubt very pleasant to listen when played by an experienced ensemble. It can be used in concerts and all sorts of spiritual or religious events. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Sheers! I wish you a Merry Christmas! Words: Johann Rist (1607-1677), 1641; Verse 1 translated from German to English by John Troutbeck, circa 1885, et. al. Verse 2 translated by Arthur Tozer Russell, 1806-1874. Music: Ermuntre Dich or Schop, Johann Schop (1590-1667), 1641; Harmony by Johann Sebastian Bach, 1734. 1. Break forth, O beauteous heavenly light, And usher in the morning; O shepherds, shrink not with afright, But hear the angel's warning. This Child, now weak in infancy, Our confidence and joy shall be, The power of Satan breaking, Our peace eternal making. All blessing, thanks and praise to thee, Lord Jesus Christ, be given; Thou hast our brother deigned to be, Our foes in sunder riven. O grant us through our day of grace With constant praise to seek Thy face; Grant us ere long in glory With praises to adore thee. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the wonderful illustration, the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. Special Thanks to Nina and Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzenegger, Koboldinha.  For all Living beings on Earth, for my Ancestors,  Thank You for all of You  All Your Love and Compassion. String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869118 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Latin. Score and parts. 16 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #1914305. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869118). Morango ... almost a tango (1983) is the most popular piece of music from my portfolio of over 150 works!!! It is amazing that the work was conceived thirty years ago!!! Originally, it was just a 32-bar jazz tune I performed every Sunday night with the Moon Unit at the 1369 Jazz Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1980-1984. The string quartet version, although written for the Kronos Quartet, was premiered at Concert X by the Composers in Red Sneakers in Sanders Theater, Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1983. The Red Sneakers String Quartet comprised of Thal Aylward, Melissa Howe, Frank Grimes and Sandy Kiefer. Richard Buell reported in the Boston Globe a few days later that the doleful Morango ... almost a tango got a lot of mileage out of a stubborn, almost unchanging cello line and the elaborations above it. The original program note read, Last summer in Vermont I met Gustavo Moretto, an Argentine composer, who taught me the finer and more beautiful aspects of the Tango. In my modest way, as someone looking in from the outside, I created Morango ... almost a tango - a bastardized version of the 'real thing.' Morango ... is also intrinsically connected to Kate Moran, a sometimes painter ... to whom it is dedicated. The work is played con sordino throughout. I hope the sirens next door don't intrude too much. But then again, John Cage would be delighted. Eventually, the Kronos got around to performing it on tour in Europe in 1986. When they played it as an encore in Italy at the American Academy in Rome, Mya Tannenbaum of the Corriere Della Sera wrote, Non sono mancati i bis. Un richiamo al sex appeal del vecchio tango da parte di un giovane «premio Roma», Tom Lee. Soon after, back in the States, the Kronos performed it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. John Rockwell wrote in the New York Times, ... a soulfully beautiful score by Thomas Oboe Lee. Three months later the Kronos recorded it on their Nonesuch CD, White Man Sleeps. Many other string quartets, both here and abroad, have since added the work to their repertory. The Lydian String Quartet, especially, have taken the work on their concert tours in the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union. It appears on a CD recorded by the Lyds in Moscow on MCA Classics. As interest in the work grew, other ensembles have requested arrangements of Morango ... There are now three other versions of the work: one for big band jazz ensemble by Ken Schaphorst, another for string orchestra commissioned by Aram Gharabekian and Sinfonova, and the third for violin and piano commissioned by the Paul Chou-Paul Salerni Duo. Of the string orchestra version, Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe wrote, Lee's piece, Morango ... almost a tango, is a transcription of atmospheric and elegant music originally composed for string quartet; it is as sultry as Faith Domergue in a film noir, and it steams. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1434004 Composed by Ray Noble. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1014246. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1434004). Love Is the Sweetest Thing is a popular song written in 1932 by British band leader and singer Ray Noble. Using guest vocalist Al Bowlly, Noble's recording was a big hit on both sides of the Atlantic, bringing Noble his first American success. It was published by Francis, Day & Hunter Ltd. Like most compositions published in the period (commonly called Tin Pan Alley songs), its main refrain (in thirty-two bar A-A-B-A form) is preceded with what were then called sectional verses or introductory verses which are usually omitted from early recordings and modern performances. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We added what we think are some pretty cool left-hand fills that we hope you will like! It's a fun song and not too hard to play!
