Rinaldo (HWV 7) is an opera by George Frideric Handel, composed in 1711, and was the first Italian language opera written specifically for the London stage. The libretto was prepared by Giacomo Rossi from a scenario provided by Aaron Hill, and the work was first performed at the Queen's Theatre in London's Haymarket on 24 February 1711. The story of love, war and redemption, set at the time of the First Crusade, is loosely based on Torquato Tasso's epic poem Gerusalemme liberata (Jerusalem Delivered), and its staging involved many original and vivid effects. It was a great success with the public, despite negative reactions from literary critics hostile to the contemporary trend towards Italian entertainment in English theatres.

This aria, from Act III of the original 1711 production, is arranged for trumpet, piano, and voice, this arrangement embodies the full orchestral feel of Handel's famous aria as well as creating the most efficient performance mark up for the voice. This arrangement is the only one in existence of its kind and is sure to make an amazing addition to your vocal performance repertoire whether you are an aspiring student or a seasoned opera vocalist.

A Musical Joke (in German: Ein musikalischer Spaß) K. 522, (Divertimento for two horns and string quartet) is a composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; the composer entered it in his Verzeichnis aller meiner Werke (Catalogue of All My Works) on June 14, 1787. Commentators have opined that the piece's purpose is satirical – that [its] harmonic and rhythmic gaffes serve to parody the work of incompetent composers – though Mozart himself is not known to have revealed his actual intentions.

The title A Musical Joke might be a poor rendering of the German original: Spaß does not necessarily connote the jocular, for which the word Scherzwould more likely be used. In Fritz Spiegl's view, a more accurate translation would be Some Musical Fun. The sometimes-mentioned nicknames Dorfmusikantensextett (village musicians' sextet) and Bauernsinfonie (farmers' symphony) were added after Mozart's death.

The piece consists of four movements and takes about 20 minutes to perform.

In a modernised version by Waldo de los Rios, the opening of the finale of A Musical Joke was used for many years as the theme tune to the BBC's Horse of the Year Show.

In Venezuela, the word aguinaldo has two meanings. It is synonymous with a gift that is given at Christmas, but also refers to a very popular musical genre in our own country of the Christmas season. This genre represents the quintessential musical expression of Venezuelan Christmas. Modesta Bor, our composition teacher, always instilled in us the cultivation of this genre in the repertoire of our choirs and as creative work, in order to preserve it from its disappearance before the overwhelming invasion of other musical genres strange to our traditional Christmas holidays.

Purísima and A ti te cantamos, they are part of the musical heritage of the 19th century in Venezuela. Out of the creative genius of Rafael Isaza and Ricardo Pérez, respectively, are two of the most beautiful aguinaldos collected, among many others, by the Maestro Vicente Emilio Sojo, and are part of our Christmas tradition. They are two praises to the Virgin Mary, mother of the Child Jesus. Either can be sung a cappella, although they can also be accompanied by our traditional cuatro.

It was premiered under my direction in December 1992 by the Orfeón Universitario of the Central University of Venezuela, to whom it is dedicated.
