Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.989242 Composed by Mary Ann Joyce. Christian,Concert,Jewish,Sacred,World. Octavo. 9 pages. Mary Ann Joyce-Walter #6244605. Published by Mary Ann Joyce-Walter (A0.989242). Mary Ann Joyce-Walters writes: The first two sections of In Anguish and Hope are based on verses from two terrifying Psalms; the third section is a setting of a passage from Micah. I chose to use these texts after listening to a friend of mine speak about the death of her son.I became keenly aware of her personal and genuine feelings of rage against God, which were so similar to David’s Why do You hide Your face and forget our persecution and our oppression? Christ’s My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? and Elie Wiesel’s Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. I realized that a far more difficult question (and perhaps more deeply personal) than that of asking God to forgive us is Can we forgive God?After asking that intimate and bold question, the words of Micah recall that peace, based on justice, will come one day: you shall be at peace and unafraid.…nations shall not lift up sword against nation….you shall bear fruit in justice and peace.

I GOTTA FEELING - The Black Eyed Peas----------------Now an annual event in its fourth year, “Proms In The Playground†is an initiative that encourages community bands to connect with their local schools by offering a performance in their playground. As well as getting young people excited about brass banding, this initiative helps bands forge and strengthen relationships with organisations around them. For those bands that want to go beyond just a performance, this initiative is an ideal opportunity to offer a taster session so school children can learn about the opportunities available in their local brass bands.- Helen Minshall, BBE Youth Development Brass Specialist----------------When I was asked to arrange a collection of fun pieces for Brass Bands England’s “Proms In The Playground†initiative, I was more than happy to do so. It’s a brilliant way to engage local schools with music and brass bands, and I hope this set of arrangements will be enjoyable to perform and share with your community all year round.- Mark Harrison, Arranger.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818235 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Elizabeth C. Clephane 1830–1869 (lyrics) and Frederick Charles Maker 1844–1927. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple. Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 12 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #3098321. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818235). Beneath the Cross of Jesus ♫ Original piano arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ Based on the public domain hymn by Elizabeth C. Clephane 1830–1869 (lyrics) and Frederick Charles Maker 1844–1927 (melody) ♫ In preparing to compose the arrangement I asked myself “What would be the opposite of “Beneath the cross of Jesus I fain would take my stand.†How could I picture that? The opposite of firm footing, stability, taking a stand is vacillating between ideas or chasing numerous ideas. ♫ I pictured the wind scattering leaves and debris, but failing to budge heavy objects, anchored to the ground. ♫ Our culture bids us chase after status, power, money, pleasure, thrills … The problem, of course is that the shelf life of the satisfaction that these things brings is very short. Chasing after status, power, money, pleasure, thrills, etc. is like is like chasing the wind. ♫ Portraying chasing the wind allowed me to use some contemporary classical composition techniques such as polymeter, polytonality, and deliberate dissonance. The first theme suggests the futility and inevitable frustration of chasing the wind. The score opens up to the beauty of a life grounded on the cross of Jesus Christ. ♫ music © 2017 (copyright registered in ‘I See Your Glory’ collection) ♫ recording ℗ 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ presentation © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ performed by the composer ♫ This .pdf file includes 2 files: 1) Letter size piano score 2) Small page piano score for performing from a 10 inch tablet, 4) Small page piano score for performing from a 10 inch tablet. ♫ (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Small Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596601 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional. Score and parts. 7 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6057663. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596601). Los ñoquis del veintinueve   – The Gnocchi of the Twenty-Ninth –   by Juan María Solare Audio: https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS Comments   The order of these 29 numbers is rigorously random, as is the election of the six sizes of the fonts (12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 picas).   In order to determinate both dimensions I used the program I-Ching by Andrew Culver (assistant to John Cage in the '80 and '90), a program that is distributed as shareware in internet (thanks).   The colour version follows the following criterion:   - (a) prime numbers (see green) - (b) multiples of 3 (red) - (c) all other numbers (blue)     ...if it ends up being good music then what matter the procedure involved? (David Cope, New Music Composition, p. 117)     About the expression los ñoquis del 29:   The Italian word gnocchi (gnocchi is plural of gnocco, which meaning is lump) is used in Spanish often as ñoqui or ñoquis.   In the Río de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) are traditionally eaten on the 29th of each month, the day before payday, when people has less money. This tradition is called los ñoquis del 29 - the gnocchi of the twenty-ninth.   There are naturally other versions. The most picturesque comes from a legend of the VIIIth century (or even IIIrd century). A young physician called Pantaleon (Panteleimon) lived in Nicosia (Cyprus), who after converting to Christianity, journeyed through the North of Italy. There he practiced miraculous healings due to which he was canonized. In a certain occasion, he asked some Venetian villagers for bread, and they invited him to share their poor table. Grateful, he announced them a year of excellent fishing and harvest. The prophecy was fulfilled. Saint Pantaleon was consecrated –along with Saint Mark– patron of Venice. That episode occurred on a 29th, for this reason that day is recalled with a simple food represented by gnocchi. The accompanying ritual of putting money below the dish represents the yearning of new gift.   Outside the culinary realm, certain Argentine and Uruguayan functionaries are dismissively called ñoquis, because they only go to work at the end of the month, to justify their salary or simply to cash in for a not fulfilled work. This meaning was spread since the 1970's.   Premiere: Luis Mihovilcevic, Saturday 25 October 2008, Centro Cultural Islas Malvinas, La Plata (Argentina). * JMS * DonSolare@gmail.com *https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS

Small Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.540713 Composed by Therese Brenet. Contemporary,New Age. Score and parts. 36 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #62099. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.540713). The composer writes : This work was premièred on April 27, 2003 at the Eglise Saint-Roch in Paris with the prestigious Orchestre de la Musique de L’Armée de L’Air, under the direction of my friend and colleague, Claude Picheraureau. I have always been fascinated by the beauty of the Cosmos, which has inspired many of my works. Feelings of infinite movement can be expressed musically and it seemed to me that one of the ways to do this was to end this work on a repeated phrase played in a long perdendosi, to give the impression that one is hearing the echoes of the finished phrase as the instruments stop playing. I had just started to write this work when I received a note for the Paris Observatory which gave me the news that the astronomical community had decided to name a newly discovered asteroid for Jean-Pierre Luminet. When I wrote to Jean-Pierre to congratulate him on this honour, reminding him with the Petit Prince that not everyone has their own star, I asked him if he would accept that I name this work for concert band with the full name of his asteroid: 5523 Luminet 1991 PH8. Jean-Pierre accepted my proposition by return letter : ..., not only do I not have any objection, but I would be very honoured. To be in the celestial spheres in the form of a rock and also in the form of music, what more could one ask for? Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1083306 Composed by Jeffrey Pettijohn. Romantic Period. Score. 3 pages. Jeffrey Pettijohn #687507. Published by Jeffrey Pettijohn (A0.1083306). This is a song about a 19th century couple who are walking in a garden. They have been courting for some time and the gentleman has decided to profess his love to the young lady. He goes on to tell her about the wonderful life that she can look forward to if she accepts his proposal of marriage. The gentleman, sure that his feelings are not unrequited, is surprised when she doesn’t respond immediately. After a few moments, he starts to say something and the young lady puts her fingers gently to his lips and says, “All I ask, is that you tread gently upon my heart. For I have been here before.â€.

Small Ensemble Drum Set,Euphonium,Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802654 By Bee Gees. By Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Dance,Disco. Score and parts. 12 pages. Peet du Toit #6200345. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802654). First of May is a song by the Bee Gees with lead vocals by Barry Gibb, released as a single from their 1969 double album Odessa. The song was first recorded in Atlantic Studios in New York and was continued in IBC Studios, London. Barry said in the booklet with Tales from the Brothers Gibb that the title of the song came from the birthday of his dog, Barnaby. Maurice recalled the session in which that song came about. Barry and I were sitting at the piano, he said, And I started playing the chords, and Barry started singing, 'When I was small and Christmas trees were tall' and I started singing along with it. We put a demo down with a vocal and we kept the piano track. Went back to England, and went into IBC Studios in London, added onto that piano track and Barry's vocal stayed on as well. We had a choir and an orchestra all on this one piano. This song was initially taped in demo form in New York City on 16 August 1968.The orchestral arrangement from maestro Bill Shepherd was featured on the second chorus. The song starts with a piano on the first verse and chorus. Shepherd's orchestra was featured in second verse and second chorus. After singing the second chorus, the singer repeated the first verse. The music was stopped when he sings don't ask me why, but time has passed us by, Someone else moved in from far away.It was quite a challenge to arrange such subtle music for a brass quintet. I am very pleased with the result though. Enjoy!
