Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845858 Composed by Christi Stills. 20th Century. Score. 3 pages. Christi Stills #3884163. Published by Christi Stills (A0.845858). November https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMzP2gFdYXQ is a reflective piece I composed one morning last week. I wanted to create something simple enough that other piano players could enjoy it and learn to play it in a relatively short amount of time. It has an interesting mood with curious resolvings. I asked my son how it made him feel. He said it made him think of someone on a journey. Essentially, life does have its many journeys. Some are adventurous and exciting. Some are heavy and difficult. It's good to know there is a Sovereign God who is in control of all of our journeys. He brings comfort to those who seek Him!

Instrumental Solo,Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1513976 Composed by Various. Arranged by Robert Chamberlin. Christmas. Individual part. 20 pages. Robert Chamberlin #1088519. Published by Robert Chamberlin (A0.1513976). This set of Christmas Carol introductions for pipe organ has been written specifically for one hand and pedals. They were commissioned by a friend and fellow organist who was experiencing mobility issues with her right hand. She asked if I could write something she could play without having to rely on her right hand. From the beginning, I was intent on writing for left hand and pedals. But, as I moved forward with each carol arrangement, I realized that the manual part could actually be played with either left or right hand alone. There are different challenges with each hand, due to the structure of the hands (distances between fingers, especially the placement of the thumb). In spite of those challenges, the manual part can be played by either hand. While these arrangements may be useful for organists experiencing physical issues with one of their hands, they could also be used to help develop independence of the hands.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1272809 Composed by Drew Morris. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. Score and Parts. 65 pages. Yellow Envelope Publications #865007. Published by Yellow Envelope Publications (A0.1272809). Though ā€œThe Veil Betweenā€ starts slow and ominous, it quickly picks up the tempo with a driving bass line and melody that pushes throughout the piece.Ā The middle section is filled with creepy percussion instruments, including bowed cymbals and super ball mallets on gongs and timpani. Your percussionists are sure to enjoy trying out these cool sounds.Every person on a melodic instrument gets the melody at some point in the piece. I just liked the idea of someone starting to play the melody as people were getting ready for rehearsal and anyone else being able to join in! Plus, I thought it might make it easier to teach the style of the melody if you could do it as a full group. This piece was originally written for 5 percussionists. After finishing the piece I was asked to add in more percussion, a task which I was very excited to do! The benefit of this is that this piece can be played by as few as 5 percussionists, or as many as 10 (or more)!Ā InstrumentationFlute, Oboe, Bassoon, 2 Clarinet, Bass Clarinet,Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone,Ā 2 Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Treble Clef Euphonium, Tuba5-10 Percussionists - Timpani, Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Concert Toms (2), Opt. Flute Solo,Soprano Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1289764 Composed by Adrian Dee. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. Individual part. 10 pages. Adrian Dee #880461. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.1289764). I was thinking about all the ways in which we could not breathe in 2020 - George Floyd's last words, the COVID-19 pandemic putting us all on masks and respirators, the wildfires filling our homes with smoke, the racism that has silenced so many for so long. I thought it would be interesting to write a piece with all that in mind for flute, an instrument which is, of course, all about breathing. Ā The piece is one movement with four sections: George Floyd, Protests, Respirators, and Wildfires. It runs approximately 9 to 10 minutes, at the performer’s discretion. It requires some improvisation, a few special effects (multiphonics, use of voice, jet whistle), some serious breath control, and a lot of energy. The performer is asked to breathe in specific ways, to make the audience aware of the breathing, and to become uncomfortably short of breath. Ā There is also optional use of electronic Loop for layering voices in the final section. This piece was premiered by Anthony Trionfo at the National Flute Association convention, Aug. 4, 2023.Ā  Check out the Youtube link for an exciting performance. This is an intensely emotional piece and unlike my other compositions. I'd love to hear your feedback: adriandeeflute@gmail.com.

Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.854332 Composed by Melanie B. Guerin. Broadway,Contemporary,Musical/Show. 7 pages. Melanie B Guerin #6110663. Published by Melanie B Guerin (A0.854332). Comedic song for a soprano who has decided this is no time to be nice! This is an uptempo song with some challenging modulations and a wide range (G3-B5), but a catchy tune and lyrics that poke fun of the belligerence of modern society. The world today’s gone mad, they say,And I feel it’s a fitting rebuke,No sooner you’re meeting a stranger,Than he’s telling you Put up your dukes, There’s no longer a role for a peaceful soul,When you’re caught between muscle and might,If you’re gonna get through,There’s just one thing to do,So you take a deep breath,And you join in the fight! Hit ā€˜em again,If it’s rough, make it rougher,Someone’s gotta suffer,But you’ll be the one who survives,When they’re aiming to give you the worst,You can beat ā€˜em by hitting ā€˜em first! Then hit ā€˜em again,Hit ā€˜em again,Hit ā€˜em again. Hit ā€˜em again,Make it long, make it lasting,They’re practically askingFor a pummeling right in the puss,They’ll remember how right you areWhen you leave ā€˜em a permanent scar,Hit ā€˜em again,Hit ā€˜em again,Hit ā€˜em again. A swine who would sooner cut you than concede,But he won’t look half as tough when his nose is bleeding,You can spout your facts and figures but eventually you findIt’s better to make him have to change his pants than change his mind. Hit him again,Make him dance, make him dizzy,Sure it’s brutal, but is heNot a villain deserving of grief? He’s a louse and unless I’m mistook,All his geese should be thoroughly cooked! So hit him again,And then… Hit him again,Make him shake, make him shudder,When he’s starting to sputter,It’s then you go in for the kill,Leave him all in a heap on the pitch,ā€˜Til he’s crying like some little bitch!Hit him again,Hit him again,Hit him again, and then again!

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891956 Composed by A.E.Williams. Arranged by Stephen Davies. 20th Century,Standards. Score and Parts. 74 pages. Stephen Davies #6094485. Published by Stephen Davies (A0.891956). Ā  Ā CLARINET CONCERT CONCERTINO FOR WIND BAND I don’t normally enter long descriptions of my arrangements, nothing worse than seeing that little sign on the bottom right saying ā€˜see more’, however this piece has a rather interesting story that I’d like to share with you! It was maybe 8 or 9 years ago that I helped in the library of the Band Of The Guards Association, a group of musicians who were all members of the Household Division Bandsin London, that is to say the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish, Welsh, Life Guards and Blues & Royals bands, chiefly known the world over for Changing The Guard at Buckingham Palace and many other ceremonial occasions. The Band Of The Guards Association were privileged to rehearse at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the famous Chelsea Pensioners, renowned for their Redcoats and medals as veterans of the British Army. Our library of music for the band at the time was held in an air raid shelter deep in the cellars underneath the labyrinthine corridors of the old building built by Sir Christopher Wren back in the 1680’s. When I say ā€˜air raid shelter’, that is exactly what it was like! Can’t go into too much detail, but suffice it to say that it was like being transported back in time! But this is where the library was kept, complete with dusty shelves, blackout warnings, obsolete bulb replacements and tunnels to the Thames! The man in charge of the library was Mr.Gordon ā€˜Joe’ Stafford, former Solo Clarinet with HM Band Of The Welsh Guards (ret’d), a fine player of that instrument in his day, and revered as such even now. About 8 years ago, our ā€˜underground ā€˜ library was deemed a fire hazard, and we were ā€˜invited’ to move it elsewhere. As we had our practice room nearby in the Chelsea Hospital, we decided to relocate the whole library there, shelving being built and constructed by enthusiastic band members. Joe Stafford and myself were not particularly enthusiastic about this, but it had to be done. Having looked at the enormous amount of music to be moved, we thought about ditching some of the scores which would never be played again, for instance selections of musicals long forgotten, scores with multiple missing parts etc. Lots of that music went to local music organisations simply for sight reading purposes, and the more complete versions went to bands and orchestras to bolster their stock of scores. After the laborious sorting out in the air raid shelter, Joe and I had the unenviable task of discarding the scores and parts that were incomplete, defaced, or just basically useless. It was an arbitrary case of ā€˜keep or throw’, and at the time we were doing this, Joe was desperate for a pint in the bar! I agreed, and was anyway on my last batch of throwaways when I found a piece titled ā€˜Clarinet Concerto’, by A.E.Williams. Written in pencil, with ancient sellotape, and signed by all the people who played it many years ago, including the Soloist and composer, I thought that that should not be binned, so I kept it! Joe Stafford suggested that I should ā€˜get it out there’ , so I have. Incidentally it has a cracking Cadenza towards the end, it was a bit smudged in the original score, but I’ve filled in the gaps!! This would be an ideal addition to the band repertoire for Clarinet!

Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533578 Composed by Carson Cooman. Christian,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score and parts. 189 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3025409. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533578). The Acts of the Apostles (2009), an oratorio for baritone, chorus, congregation/audience, and chamber orchestra (piano, organ, strings-suggested minimum of 3.3.3.2.1),was commissioned by The Memorial Church at Harvard University. It is dedicated to Edward Elwyn Jones and theHarvard University Choir. The biblical books of Luke and Acts form a pair of documents from a single author and with a single audience (thelikely-metaphorical ā€œTheophilusā€), yet they are unusual for being composed in such contrasting genres. Luke’sgospel, using Mark as a primary source throughout, features a comparable literary style to that of the otherevangelists. Acts, by contrast, is a historical monograph that charts the birth of the Church with dramatic storiesabout—and speeches from—the apostles, painting a vivid, if not necessarily chronological, picture of their victoriesand struggles. As such, it is a book that provides excellent source material for a dramatic choral libretto of this scale.Although much of Acts is focused on the ministry of Saul/Paul, this oratorio draws most of its material from thefirst third of the book, prior to and including the conversion of Saul. In the Prologue, Christ’s ascension is narratedand—following an orchestral Sinfonia—the chorus sings words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Plain in Luke’sgospel that foreshadow many of the trials the apostles go on to face. The astounding account of Pentecost follows:here, words from the book of Ruth, customarily read on the feast of Shavuot (Pentecost), are included, telling thestory of a Moabite woman who converted to the Israelite faith—a parallel to the expansion of the Christian messageto all nations by the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Prayer for Boldness, quoting Psalm 2, asks God for protection fromthe threats of persecution that the apostles will now face.Stephen, regarded as the proto-martyr of the Christian Church, offers one of the most developed speeches in Acts, only a small portion of which is presented here. Full of scriptural references, including the quotation from Isaiahā€œHeaven is my throneā€¦ā€, the end of the narrative is remarkable for two reasons: firstly, Stephen’s final wordsmirror those of Christ on the cross in Luke’s gospel—where Jesus forgives his executioners and prays ā€œFather, intoyour hands I commend my spiritā€ (Luke 23:46); secondly, Saul is specifically mentioned as one who approved ofStephen’s stoning, indicative of the redemptive possibilities of the Christian message. The account of the baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch here in the oratorio ends with the First Song of Isaiah—whilenot quoted in Acts, it seems a fitting conclusion to the scene as Philip and the eunuch were reading Isaiah together, and the canticle has often been associated by Christians with the rite of baptism. Similarly, the story of Saul’sConversion is followed here by a Christological poem found in Paul’s letter to the Philippians, though it is likely aquotation from an earlier source. It is often regarded as the earliest extant Christian hymn. The Acts of the Apostles concludes with Luke’s realistic assessment that in spite of Paul’s energetic evangelism manyremained unconvinced by the Christian message. At the heart of both Luke’s gospel and Acts is the tension betweenthe uniquely important role of the Jewish traditions that Jesus himself practiced and the expansion of the gospel togentiles, of whom Luke himself is one. It is appropriate, therefore, to follow Paul’s message of salvation to thegentiles with the Magnificat: a canticle that emphasizes the promises of God to the people of Israel throughouthistory.Three traditional hymn texts are found in the oratorio, each set congregationally to a pre-existing tune. The first,ā€œSpirit of mercy, truth, and loveā€ is an eighteenth century poem that e.
