Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205281 By Keith Terrett. By Various. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Historic,March,Multicultural,Patriotic,Traditional,World. 109 pages. Keith Terrett #803468. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1205281). A new arrangement of music  especially for ’’National Day’’ in Norway, which falls on the 17th of May each year.Bands all over the land march around their towns and villages, in celebration of Norway’s independence from Sweden. The little set consists of ’’Ja vi elsker’’, ’’Fagert er landet’’, ’’Gud signe vårt dyre fedreland’,’’Smaa barnas nasjonalsang’’, ’’Kongsesangen’’, an original march entitled ’’17 mai (Constitution marsj)’’, and a small compilation of three marches which include,’'Alle fugler'', ’’Gammel Jegermarsj’’ and ’’Mellom bakkar og berg’’ by Lindeman; and finally Norge i rødt, hvitt og blått   (Norway in red, white and blue). These arrangements will work very well with just four players.  As long as you cover all four parts, you are guaranteed a very rich and full-sounding arrangement. If you have some percussion players to augment your group, it will sound even better. This arrangement comes with parts for flexible band.If you are interested in other music for brass, have a look at my Norwegian publisher’s web site, for my set of ’’7 Julesangs’’, for Brass Quartet, Flexible Band and Piano:www.musikk-huset.noThe Norwegian Constitution Day is the National Day of Norway and is an official national holiday each year. Among Norwegians, the day is referred to simply as syttende mai (meaning May Seventeenth), Nasjonaldagen (The National Day) or Grunnlovsdagen (The Constitution Day), although the latter is less frequent. If you require other parts, e-mail me your requirements, and I will up-load parts to my Sibelius store within 24hrs: keithterrett@gmail,com.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1276549 By Erik Nielsen. By Erik Nielsen. Arranged by Erik Nielsen. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 20 pages. Middle Branch Music #868278. Published by Middle Branch Music (A0.1276549). Several years ago I heard some of the piano Etudes of Gyorgy Ligeti. I was very impressed with how Ligeti constructed such rich music on such a small scale and thought it would be a fun challenge for me to attempt something similar. Writing for piano has always been a challenge for me, both because of the instrument itself and because of the previous literature, which has seemed rather daunting. However, by trying to concentrate solely on the character and needs of each movement I had an easier time than I had feared and really enjoyed the process. The results bear no outward resemblance to the Ligeti works, at least not to me, but the work has its own integrity and character. By providing as “bookends†a Prologue and Epilogue that used the same material I tried to give some structure to the work as a whole. That and the way I linked the tonal centers of the successive movements provide what unity there is. For me, however, the title is accurate and I view these little pieces as miniatures, ones that gave me a lot of pleasure to write and will I hope give listeners pleasure as well.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1241720 Composed by Sarah Baker. 21st Century,Children,Classical,Comedy. Score. 24 pages. Forsyth Brothers Ltd #837056. Published by Forsyth Brothers Ltd (A0.1241720). Suitable for players of around grade 4-5 standard, these evocative sound pieces describe a crash-landing hot air balloon, garden invading cows and a even a snake in a pond!Sarah Baker is Vocal Composer in Residence for Services at Education Music Services, an ABRSM examiner and a well known composer of songs and musicals for primary schools and massed-choral events. All this experience has come together in the creation of this album of piano pieces, inspired by growing up in the Chiltern Hills.Contents:Air Balloon!Buzzards CirclingThere’s a Cow in the Garden Eating the FlowersWatching the World Go ByAutumn SkiesFriendsSnake in the PondMorning CommuteThe Witch's CottageComposer’s NotesAir Balloon! One vivid memory I have as a child is of the day that a hot air balloon passed over our house and made an emergency landing on the road in front!  It was both terrifying and exhilarating to watch the balloon float past and then land so near by.Buzzards Circling There is something so calming and restful about watching birds of prey circling in the thermal currents of a summer sky. This piano solo captures the beauty of their flight as they glide so effortlessly through the air. There’s A Cow In The Garden Eating The Flowers Inspired by the memory of seeing an unexpected cow in the garden! This surreal image is captured in a quirky waltz, as I portray both the absurdity of the moment and the sense of wonder I felt as a child. The final phrase articulates my longing: ‘I wish it would come again’.Watching The World Go By A short, reflective piece, remembering what it was like to have time to just sit and watch the world go by from my bedroom window.Autumn Skies A miniature about the beauty of Autumn skies and the poignant sense of loss for a summer gone.Friends I was fortunate to have several children of my own age living close by. We seemed to be forever making dens, playing out in the street and generally enjoying each other’s company. This piece reflects that sense of well-being.Snake In The Pond One hot summer I was astonished and scared to see a grass snake cooling off in our garden pond! I watched, both horrified and fascinated, as it rose up from the depths and then disappeared again.Morning Commute I recollect many mornings stuck in traffic as my Dad took me to school on his way to work. We may not have chatted a lot, but it was always good to be together with my Dad, lost in our own thoughts. The Witch’s Cottage My siblings and I had a fascination with a small cottage nearby. It was set back from the road in a dark part of the woods and we called it 'the witch's cottage’. Every time we passed, I imagined I heard the distant cackle of the witch and wished I could catch a glimpse of her. These pieces are written to complement my other collection, Night Time Impressions, which also draw on childhood recollections, particularly of the woods behind the house where I grew up.Sarah Baker2023.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1324800 By David Tsvariani. By David Tsvariani. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. David Tsvariani #913009. Published by David Tsvariani (A0.1324800). Fugues Op. 17 for Piano by David TsvarianiIntroduction:Allow me to share a few thoughts about my recent composition, Fugues Op. 17, for piano. Comprising four individual fugues that can be performed separately or as a complete suite, this work explores a range of tempos, keys, and thematic nuances. I've endeavored to create a modest collection that, when performed together, offers a glimpse into various emotional landscapes.Fugue No. 1 in C Major (Allegro vivace):The journey begins with the lively Allegro vivace in C major, a modest 01:44 celebration of joy and energy. It is my hope that this piece, with its brisk tempo, serves as a lively opening to the collection, showcasing the pianist's skill and the intricate counterpoint I aimed to achieve.Fugue No. 2 in B-flat Major (Andante):The second fugue, marked Andante with a duration of 02:25, introduces a contemplative mood in the key of B-flat major. In my modest attempt, this piece invites the listener to reflect and explore a more introspective side, providing a gentle contrast to the preceding fugue.Fugue No. 3 in A Major (Adagio):With a deliberate pace of 02:57 and an Adagio tempo, the third fugue in A major emphasizes melody and expression. My humble intention was to create a serene and emotional landscape, allowing the listener to experience a deeper connection with the music.Fugue No. 4 in D Major (Allegretto):The final fugue, an Allegretto in D major, lasts a mere 01:40. In a departure from convention, I introduced an Eastern or oriental scale, aiming to infuse the composition with a unique character. It is my modest hope that this unexpected touch adds a distinctive flavor to the overall work.Program Notes:As I share Fugues Op. 17, I am mindful of the privilege of having my compositions interpreted by talented performers. My sincere aspiration was to create a humble collection that weaves together varied emotions and styles. The inclusion of a melodic third fugue and the exoticism of the fourth fugue seeks to expand the tonal palette modestly. I hope that, as a whole, this collection speaks with a quiet resonance, leaving room for interpretation and connection between the music, the performer, and the listener. With gratitude, David Tsvariani.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1425121 Composed by Otto Kelland. Arranged by Marc Donatelle. 20th Century,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 26 pages. Marc Donatelle #1005939. Published by Marc Donatelle (A0.1425121). This well known folk song from Newfoundland has been arranged to feature the brass quintet with a Bohdran or Drum.I tried to capture the feeling of Newfoundland after visiting several times, and having family there. It features all of the instruments, beginning with a mysterious, somber tuba solo accompanied by fog horn sounds played by horn and trombone along with muted trumpets imitating a calm sea. This builds to rhapsodic climax, ending mysteriosly with the tuba. The Bohdran/Drum part is a nice addition, but there are options if one is not available. Please see notes at the end of the score. The sound example is the transition from the Celtic part with Bohdran into the climax. (Measures 62-73).
