Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1373611 Composed by Adoniram J. Gordon, Frederick H. Lehman, Traditional, and William B. Bradbury. Arranged by Amanda Tero. Christian,Holiday,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 29 pages. Amanda Tero #957915. Published by Amanda Tero (A0.1373611). Do you need Valentine's Hymns for church services in February? These 5 hymns cover God's love to us, Jesus's love to us, and our love to Him.Written in the key of C, these 5 early intermediate piano solos have simple patterns that are easy for the intermediate pianist to sightread. These early intermediate hymn solos are equivalent to most Level 2 and 3 curricula.Ideal for church services (especially in February), Valentine’s banquets, conferences, recitals, and more!Arranged to be simple yet tasteful in style. Here is all the information you’ll need to decide if this collection of early intermediate sheet music is the level you’re looking for:·         All in the Key of C (What Wondrous Love is This? is in A Dorian—no accidentals in key signature)·         No key changes·         Basic format: intro, verse/chorus, interlude, verse/chorus, ending·         2 verses each·         Single-note melody in the right hand (brief LH melody in The Love of God)·         Mostly broken 5ths and triads in the left hand·         Repetitive patterns for easy learning·         Similar chords between verses·         Note reading up to 2 ledger lines·         Rhythm not faster than eighth notes·         Just 1 page turn each (exception: Oh, How I Love Jesus has 2) Jesus Loves Me is an old favorite, often seen as a “children’s song.†However, the words to this hymn of love are just as important for adults as for children. While a simple arrangement, this is not a childish sounding arrangement.·         Features an “echo†melody written 8va·         Left hand in treble clef for portions·         Ends with hand crossing My Jesus, I Love Thee begins unexpectedly with colorful chords that finally release tension into a calm first verse. There are slight jazz textures in this arrangement but also classical elements with scales and Alberti bass.·         Rich chord textures (just a hint of jazz/dissonance)·         Accidentals·         Right hand scales (ascending & descending) Oh, How I Love Jesus is a cheerful arrangement with just a hint of cinematic-style melodies. The chords are very similar between verse 1 and 2 in this arrangement, making it especially easy for the pianist to learn.·         6/8 meter·         Cinematic elements·         Chords repeat: open 5ths and 6ths or filled in triads/chords The Love of God starts with left hand melody, making this different from all the other arrangements. The goal is for this to be a seamless melody transition between the hands while the non-melody hand supports at a slightly lower volume.·         Left hand melody for part·         Right hand chords for part·         Left hand repeats in different octaves for broader sound What Wondrous Love is This? is a haunting conclusion to the collection. It is predominantly arranged with open 5ths in the left hand and repeating patterns in the right hand. It ends with slow, four-note chords that are very hymn-like.·         A Dorian mode·         Very easy left hand (repeating open 5ths)·         Sounds harder than it really is.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976710 Composed by Robert Myers. Christian,Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 10 pages. WheatMyer Music #4767525. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976710). It Is Not Death to Die is a new setting of French poet Henri Abraham César Malan's Non, ce n'est pas mourir as translated by George Washington Bethune and adapted for this work. Why this text? It first came to my notice shortly after the passing of Billy Graham, who was known to paraphrase D. L. Moody,   Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I   am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God.Graham's bold proclamation and Malan's poetry motivated me to focus anew on the resurrection, re-remembering it as the pivotal element of the Christian faith. For if there is no resurrection, Paul says in 1 Cor 15, our faith is useless. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead! Unfortunately, singing about heaven has, perhaps, been neglected of recent decades. We seem to have focused more on the already to the detriment of the not yet. But it is important to remember that this life is not all there is! Quoting Paul again, the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us (Rom 8:18). Yet, if Christ delays, the grim inevitability of our transition into eternity is a certain experience we all face. Malan's poetry so poignantly and eloquently captures this tension that it compelled me to compose a fresh musical setting that attempts to captures the mixture of dread and hope borne out in the acclamation that death is swallowed up in victory! I pray that this setting aids the Church to remember the great hope and promise Christ has granted us:   O Death, where is your victory?    O Death, where is your sting?_______________________________________________________________________________________________The music opens with a C# diminished chord in a very still and somber texture reflective of grief. The text is introduced with the first of two main motives, a rising 4-note outline of B minor in a triple repetition of It Is Not Death. As each stanza proceeds the music concludes on the second motive, a 5-note descending span of a minor 7th in Bb Lydian. The energy and mood of the music gradually shift over the five stanzas, as the focus moves from this life to the next; the texture thickens, the harmony expands, and the dynamic grows into the music’s pinnacle on reign with You on high! The music closes on a reprise of the opening section, simultaneously mindful of our mortality and our eternity.

Concert Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1428591 Composed by J. Pierpoint. Arranged by Callie Mae / Brian Harris. Christmas,Holiday,Instructional. 33 pages. HMS Music #1009365. Published by HMS Music (A0.1428591). _____________________________________________________________________________As a middle school band director, I was always happy when all my beginners were able to play Jingle Bells in unison and with a decent sound.. But I also had a number of players who could move faster and play more challenging rhythms and notes than others. What to do? How about a simple arrangement with flexible part assignments?JINGLE THOSE BELLS! is a super-easy setting of Jingle Bells. The work opens with the traditional unison rendition of the melody, as found in almost every beginner band method book ever written. But then, after a brief pause, the melody is repeated, but now faster and with the addition of a bass line and rhythmic accompaniment. The rhythmic accompaniment is provided by several of your best clarinet, sax, and trumpet players who play the Advanced Part. And if you are short on bass voice instruments, you can utilize the optional bass parts for Alto Sax. Super flexible and a bit humorous, it takes a little score study to realize how adaptable this piece is. Guaranteed to work with your beginners! (PS: the printed music shows Callie May, our cat, as arranger. I gave her credit so my wife could play more than one piece by me at her holiday concerts without looking too biased! Consider pairing this work with another one of my super-easy beginner band works - JOY TO THE KING  – also available online here).NOTE: this Digital Download is assembled with the Advanced Clarinet parts appearing as page 1 so you may view it on the web site as you listen to the sound file. When you download/print the full document (33 pages, total), the first page to print will be the Clarinet part, followed by the FULL SCORE, then the remaining PARTS. Also included is permission for a band director to make as many copies as needed for their school. This permission is not extended to individuals . . . only to schools.  Now you can let the kids keep their music - and just print (legally!) new parts each year!  (BcP-YB) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -COMPOSER: Now retired, Brian Harris holds the Ph.D. in Music Education from the Florida State University and was a band director for over 30 years at both the public school and college level. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Click here to view other Winter / Christmas Concert works from Bandroom.com Publications:Joy to the King (for beginners)Jingle Those Bells! Percussion Ensemble Marimba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1123395 Composed by Martin J Van Klompenberg. Classical,Contest,Festival. Score and parts. 51 pages. Martin J. Van Klompenberg #724203. Published by Martin J. Van Klompenberg (A0.1123395). …You watch as a man walks alone, along a deserted rural highway. He is aware that danger is out there, but for this moment, the peril is far enough away to let his guard down….maybe…. The pages of the comic book super “hero,†The Incredible Hulk, have always been among my favorites. I am personally one of the great defenders of the character’s films. And, as a child, I loved re-runs of the The Incredible Hulk television show. Bixby Walks Alone is the musical intersection of this love. Inspired by the tragic, lonely ending of each episode of the television series, as well as the intense, expositive opening credits sequence of the 2008 film, I sat down and created the minimalist engine that drives this piece. Originally conceived for bassoon quartet, the opportunity to write a work for the Heartland Marimba Quartet allowed me to flesh out this feeling of tension even further.

Choral Choir (SA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.873032 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary,Standards. Octavo. 6 pages. Sally Whitwell #3869015. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873032). Composer’s Note - DaybreakDuring the Winter of 2016, I journeyed to my hometown Canberra for a job interview and audition. It was for the head of the new Music Academy at Canberra Girls Grammar School, my old school. Which was kind of weird. As part of my specifically designed interview/audition experience, I was required to run a composition workshop, and this song Daybreak is the result of that.It was an odd experience to return to the scenes of my youth, to see how much everything had changed. So many new buildings, so many of the old buildings repurposed, so many more opportunities afforded to the girls at the school now than we could ever have dreamed in the late 80s and early 90s. It was pretty early in the morning when I arrived, the winter mist just beginning to clear to one of those perfect sunny cold Canberra days. The school is directly down the road from Parliament House, and as the mist cleared to reveal that magnificent flagpole above the treetops surrounding the school, I decided that the joy and optimism of a new day would be the perfect subject for our composing collaboration. The girls were very generous with their ideas. The song was finished within a few days and I sent it back to the school. I think they liked it? It was hard to tell from their response. I didn’t get the job. (No surprise to me, as I have almost never been successful at auditions and job interviews. Fortunately people just know my work, ask me to do stuff, and I just say yes. Haha.) But I’m a big believer in creativity as a way of healing. I still really like our song we wrote, those lovely girls and I, so I am releasing it into the wild.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1104138 Composed by H.W. Petrie. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 19th Century,Children,Comedy,Pop,Wedding. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #707372. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1104138).       Howard W. Petrie was a composer of popular music active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of his most popular songs was “I Don’t Want to Play in Your Yard,†published early in his career, 1894. The song underwent a revival in the mid-1950s when Peggy Lee recorded it. It also figured prominently in the popular 1981 film Reds. Lyrics are credited to Philip Wingate, and his first verse sets up the story. Two little girls were next-door neighbors and best of friends. One day, however, a quarrel arose and “hot tears were shared.†One announced, “You can’t play in our yard.†The reply of the other forms the familiar chorus: I don't want to play in your yard, I don't like you any more, You'll be sorry when you see me sliding down our cellar door, You can't holler down our rain-barrel, you can't climb our apple tree, I don't want to play in your yard, if you won't be good to me.       The second verse tells of the reconciliation. The two girls miss each other. They kiss and make up and remain friends “all thro’ life.†But “in sweet dreams of childhood†we still remember the controversy of the yard.       This version features the group's Trumpets somewhat taking the roles of the two little girls. It retains the F major key in which it was written, changes tempo four times (in addition to a few rallentando/a tempo instructions) and includes two short, rather simple cadenzas, one for each Trumpet. It starts (rather incongruously!) with the eight 4/4 measures of “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary†then transitions to ¾ for the remainder of the piece.       Trumpets predominate with melody and lead. However Horn and Trombone do occasionally come to the fore to provide introductions, call-and-response figures and recapitulations. Both Trumpets play a few notes above their staff—G# and A—but for the most part, all instruments perform within their normal playing range. Performance time is about three and a half minutes to perform.       Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 34 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.).
