Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931264 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Alessandro Macrì. Baroque,Christmas,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 43 pages. Music Macri Editions #5805697. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931264). The Christmas Oratorio (German: Weihnachts-Oratorium), BWV 248, is an oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach intended for performance in church during the Christmas season. It was written for the Christmas season of 1734 and incorporates music from earlier compositions, including three secular cantatas written during 1733 and 1734 and a largely lost church cantata, BWV 248a. The date is confirmed in Bach's autograph manuscript. The next performance was not until 17 December 1857 by the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin under Eduard Grell. The Christmas Oratorio is a particularly sophisticated example of parody music. The author of the text is unknown, although a likely collaborator was Christian Friedrich Henrici (Picander). The work belongs to a group of three oratorios written in 1734 and 1735 for major feasts, the other two works being the Ascension Oratorio (BWV 11) and the Easter Oratorio (BWV 249). All three of these oratorios to some degree parody earlier compositions. The Christmas Oratorio is by far the longest and most complex work of the three. The Christmas Oratorio is in six parts, each part being intended for performance on one of the major feast days of the Christmas period. The piece is often presented as a whole or split into two equal parts. The total running time for the entire work is nearly three hours. The first part (for Christmas Day) describes the Birth of Jesus, the second (for December 26) the annunciation to the shepherds, the third (for December 27) the adoration of the shepherds, the fourth (for New Year's Day) the circumcision and naming of Jesus, the fifth (for the first Sunday after New Year) the journey of the Magi, and the sixth (for Epiphany) the adoration of the Magi.

Piacere Music Sheets #704865. Published by Piacere Music Sheets (A0.1101489). Opus/Catalog Number: BWV Anhang 131, CW A22Key/Tone: F MajorYear/Date of Composition: 1725Difficulty: Grade 1/12 (Easy)Obs.: This piece is the 32nd in Notenbüchlein für Anna Magdalena Bach [Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach].This aria has a simple A-A-B-B musical form. Although this aria was traditionally attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, recent research has shown that is was rather composer by his youngest son Johann Christian Bach. Moreover, the title Aria does not appear in the source (there is no title for this work in Anna Magdalena's Notebook). This score contains suggestions for the ornaments in accordance with the performance practice of the early Classical period.

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1177767 Composed by Jan Antonin (comte de) Logy. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Baroque. Individual part. 11 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #777729. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1177767). Jan Antonin de Logy, count of Rosinthal (1650-1721) was an aristocrat of Bohemia and official ofthe Austrian empire. As a musician he was a lute player of professional level and seems to havebeen a refined and prolific composer of single pieces and suites in the French style for hisinstrument. His compositions are becoming known to us today through important academicresearch but a lot more work has to be made in this field. The present partita, (transcribed in A minor for guitar), was discovered early in this research and it is well known and loved amongstguitarist and lute players of today because of its ease in performance, but at the same timemaintaining a high compositional standard in terms of well-constructed movements incontrapuntal two-part writing. In these editions I prefer not to add any fingerings because I consider that they obscure the opticalresult rather than clarifying any particular way of playing the music. Instrumentalists have tomake their own fingering and choice of position decisions and in most cases they prefer it. My general suggestion for this partita is that open strings should be preferred whenever it is possible, as for example in the second half of the last movement where notes B and E are always sustainedas open strings in the upper part (indicated by the ties) and the required technique and sound result is that of an arpeggio rather than a scalic passage.Although here we have only a five movement partita and it is very easy to navigate from page to page, my usual procedure, followed for larger collections, is to give a thematic index in the beginning of the volume, with the first few bars of every piece given as photographs. If an electronic pad rather than printed music is used to play the music from these PDF archives, these photographs are clickable active links leading strait to the piece concerned, and the header of the page of any piece is another active link leading back to the index. External links to internet sources for further information on the pieces, live performances, etc may be added if considered of particular interest.

Electric guitar - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: M0.97068MEB Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by John Kiefer. World. Baroque. E-book and online audio. Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music #97068MEB. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music (M0.97068MEB). ISBN 9781619115675. 8.75x11.75 inches.Unlike many Bach editions for guitar, these transcriptions are meant to be performed using a pick. Although a few of the pieces may be played on a standard acoustic guitar, most require an electric guitar or a guitar with a cutaway. All pieces are in the original keys and their ranges may require notes as high as the twenty-second fret. Written in notation and tablature, these six pieces make great sight reading exercises. The included online audio will prove an asset in learning these often challenging pieces. Includes access to online audio.
