String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1132711 Composed by Charles Gounod, Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.). Baroque,Chamber,Religious,Sacred,Wedding. 9 pages. Joel Jacklich #732909. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.1132711). Charles Gounod composed his Ave Maria adding his new vocal line over Johann Sebastian Bach's Prelude No. 1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier. This version (in G major) is for string quartet alone. A vocalist can be added, as the first violin part doubles Gounod's original vocal line. This divides Bach's original arpeggios between the viola and second violin. These two parts are modestly difficult. Fingerings have been provided for the more awkward arpeggios. Perfect for weddings, and funerals.
