Small Ensemble Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Euphonium,Trombone,Tuba - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: A0.509989 By Bruno Mars. By Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, and Philip Lawrence. Arranged by Andrea La Rose. Pop,R & B. Score and parts. 17 pages. Published by Andrea La Rose (A0.509989). • Melody and four-part harmony parts for bassoon, trombone, baritone horn, euphonium, tuba, cello. • Chords included in every part, to encourage use of song as a vehicle for improvisation. • In original key, so you can play along with the recording. As a young musician, I often had a hard time finding music for me and my friends to play together. Small wonder, when I was a flutist and my closest friends in band played trumpet, baritone sax, and clarinet. Who writes for that combination? Later, as a music teacher, I would either be approached by students in the same kind of situation or I would have an after-school ensemble consisting of something like 3 flutes, 2 alto saxes, 4 pianists, 5 drummers, a guitar, a viola, and an accordion. Now, really. Who writes for THAT combination?!  Since I am also a composer (who often finds herself writing for similarly odd instrumentation), I would simply arrange music for that combination. But not every teacher or student is comfortable with doing that or has the time to. Finally, I am sharing with you all the fruits of my labor. Let friends play with friends! Let people pick parts that they are comfortable with! Let’s play some music we love!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534402 Composed by Jacques Leguerney. 20th Century,Standards. Score and parts. 125 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3457403. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534402). Jacques Leguerney (1906-1997) composed two string quartets. The Premier Quatuor à cordes was composed in 1925 during Leguerneyâ??s private piano and composition study with French pianist Thérèse Cahen. His second quartet, subject of this publication by Musik Fabrik, was written between November 1947 and September 1948.  The four movements are: I. Allegro moderato; II. Intermezzo; III. Scherzando; IV. Presto-Andantino. This work was, in part, Leguerneyâ??s response to the Premier Quatuor à cordes (inédit) by his colleague, Henri Sauguet. Leguerney stated in a personal interview with Patrick Choukroun (18 May 1989) that: â??I wrote it a bit in opposition to Sauguetâ??s Premier Quatuor. It seemed to me that his quartet was without interest: just scratchings! I wanted to express my way of looking at it from the classical viewpoint of the past: it is almost in the spirit of Mozart, except for the harmonic language, of course. In fact, I wanted to fight against everything that has been done to a quartet since Beethovenâ??s last ones.â? The premiere of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur was by the Quatuor Pro Arte at the Abbaye de Royaumont. Before this performance, Poulenc sent Leguerney the following note: â??Fortunate man for whom twelve strings are enough to charm people, I wish you good luck and respectfully embrace you.â? (Handwritten letter, Reims, 4 September 1959). Leguerney was appointed artistic director of the Lumen recording company in 1951, and remained in this position until 1959. He produced four recordings of his music, including the Quatuor Pro Arteâ??s recording of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur (1947-1948) (Lumen, LD 2.440, 1958). This disc won the Grand Prix du Disque de lâ??Académie Charles Cros on 13 March 1959. The Pro Arteâ??s members were Suzanne Plazonich, Violin I; Chantal Beylier, Violin II; Nicole Gendreau, Viola; and Micheline Burtin, Cello. Francis Poulenc wrote to Leguerney concerning this recording: â??It is very good Leguerney. Of course, frivolous as I am and shall always remain, it is the 2nd movement that I prefer. Between us, I am like you: I prefer the scherzos after the andantes; that way one is not forced to write a Finale allegro. Yours pleases me very much, in fact, so to my ears it is III-IV-I-II, in the order of pleasure.â? (Manuscript letter, Bagnols, 14 October 1959) The radio station France I broadcast the Quatuor with on 11 July 1959 on the program Schola of the series Concert de musique contemporaine, again with the Quatuor Pro Arte. An archive recording of this broadcast exists on magnetic tape. Critic Claude Rostand wrote: â??Jacques Leguerney does not seem to have looked for special innovations either in form or language. His basic thought seems especially to have written a quartet, that is to say on one hand to have used the four voices with elegance and originality, clarity and homogeneity (four-part writing seems to always have come naturally to him, even at the piano), and on the other hand to exploit all of the supple cushioning that can result from the caress of a bow on a string.â? Critic Emile Vuillermoz wrote: â??His only ambition is to expresses clear and affectionate melodic ideas, in a highly distinguished, elegant and refined language, meaning an homage, in the beginning of our century, to the trios of the greatest stylists of our time. In fact, it is from the vocabulary of Fauré, Debussy and Ravel that he takes his grammar and syntax and that with which he carries out with his this harmonic writing that is both supple and sparse, that is so congenial to the association of four string instruments. This quartet, whose first movement is of a rare perfection, is a delicate enchantment.â? The Musik Fabrik edition of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur is taken from a photocopy of the composerâ??s manuscript of the full score. We also had access to the quartet parts found in Leg.

Octavo. 39 pages. As do Ray meflute studio production #4360225. Published by as do Ray meflute studio production (A0.874254). Https://youtu.be/guvb5Jb31rU  Written by Lester Lee  & Zeke Manners  in 1942, and made popular  by the Andrew sisters, The Pennsylvania over years has been celebrated as one of the most popular polkas of all times and obviously the most famous State titled polka. A polka is  a vivacious couple dance of Bohemian origin in duple time; was a basic pattern of hop-step-close-step; a lively Bohemian dance tune in 2/4 time. The polka was originally a Czech peasant dance, developed in Eastern Bohemia (now part of Czechoslovakia).Growing up in Pennsylvania, nd playing for various local community bands, VFW bands ,Lion's Band ,  etc  we played the Pa Polka for many functions, churches, Seniors, Cake Walks, 4th of July programs, summer and spring concerts, marching bands, parades, and many more events. The Pennsylvania Polka is such a fun, happy song, in a march tempo beat. However, I am so proud of this arrangement as I am of the state I live in. ,  Another interesting fact is that people not familiar with the song informed me this sounds like a carousel  music at an amusement park This arrangement would be great for holidays, church functions, Seniors, July 4th concerts, kid's programs, parades, community concerts, or just any other fun concert. It's a great song for playing and breaking up the typical monotonous flute choir music.  A sure flute players favorite as well as your audiences for years to come.Smartly scored for 2 piccolos, 4 c flutes , 2 altos in G , bass flute , and contra bass flute .** however, a 5th c flute made be played for alto flute 1 .  Arranged in an intermediate to advanced intermediate style ( considering the top / high instrumentation)Also,  please visit my website  @   www.doRaymeflute.com

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1132080 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Philip Le Bas #732317. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1132080). An original setting, for SSABar choir and piano by Philip Le Bas, of Quiet Peace by Amy Carmichael (1867-1951), who worked as a Christian missionary among the poorest of the poor in India in the first half of the twentieth century. The poem is in the form of a prayer, and the music here has been been kept deliberately simple to perform, so that it canbe sung by a typical church choir. The piano here provides a constantly flowing ritornello throughout the verses, while the voices weave around it in a gentle wave of prayerful reflection. The poet feels an interior quiet peace while all around her there are storms and disquiet, because she knows that her Lord hears her voice. The setting is deliberately simple and undemanding, and it should be sung quietly, meditatively and without rushing. O Lord my heart is all a prayer, But it is silent unto thee; I am too tired to look for words, I rest upon thy sympathy To understand when I am dumb; And well I know thou hearest me. I know thou hearest me because A quiet peace comes down to me, And fills the places where before Weak thoughts were wandering wearily; And deep within me it is calm, Though waves are tossing outwardly. Amy Carmichael (1867-1951).

Piano Trio,String Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004148 Composed by Matthew Scott Phillips. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 16 pages. Matthew Scott Phillips #3510879. Published by Matthew Scott Phillips (A0.1004148). Throughout the centuries, sundials (a flat plate that marks the time of the day by the shadow of a gnomon which is cast onto it) have been used by civilizations to tell time. Unlike modern clocks and digital watches, in which every single second has its own momentary significance, telling time by sundial is more evolutionary. The seconds, and hours, melt into one another. It is perhaps for this reason that sundials have often been conceived not only as practical time pieces, but as works of art, metaphors, and creations that are inherent expressions of the personality of their creators. Etched in many sundials across the world, in Latin, English, German, and other languages are often found mottoes that reflect the thoughts of the sundial's creator. These mottoes can be fatalistic, humorous, transient, morbid, or serene, and almost always involve the subjects of time, the passing of the hours, life and its brevity, or metaphors involving shadows. Many times these mottoes feature some witticism, such as I only count the sunny hours (since a shadow must be present for a sundial to function). Other times, they can be revealingly existential (We are but shadow), and other times offer advice (Use the hours, don't count them). It is these statements of philosophy, etched in sundials throughout the centuries, that most interests me. I am currently composing a set of movements for piano trio (Piano, Violin, Cello) dedicated to the mottoes found on sundials, and their significance to me. The first movement, subtitled Tempus Edax Rerum (Time devours things) is expansive and attempts a feeling of eternity, into which all seemingly fast moving workings of human beings are inevitably subsumed. For the second movement I am considering the phrase Pereunt et Imputantur (They pass and are counted referring to the hours of the day), and its implication of the way in which time can slip away, whether we observe it or not.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032980 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Alan Jermiason. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Score and parts. 12 pages. Alan Jermiason #5954713. Published by Alan Jermiason (A0.1032980). I got the inspiration to write this arrangement from my father. He commissioned me to write a medley of traditional hymns in which he and his wife (my mom) could play together for church services. I was sort of taken aback by this request since I am mostly known as a freelance trumpet player around the Minneapolis area and not necessarily an arranger. Nevertheless, I thought I would give it a go. I am happy to say that this project was extremely fun and satisfying to work on. Not only did it give me a chance to stretch muscles I haven't used for a couple of years, but it has given me the opportunity to praise and worship God in a new way. I hope that through this arrangement, others may also be able to worship God through the gift of music. This arrangement is a medley between three different traditional hymns: What a Friend We Have In Jesus, Jesus Loves Me, and I Know That My Redeemer Lives. These were chosen by my dad since these are some of his favorite hymns. This piece works great for any two treble instruments Alan Jermiason July 2020

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548434 By Beyonce. By Beyonce Knowles, Evan Bogart, and Ryan Tedder. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Hip-Hop,Pop,R & B. 22 pages. Jmsgu3 #3369895. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548434). Duration: 4:15. Suitable for recital, reception, or nightclub. A song recorded by American singer Beyoncé for her third studio album, I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008). Included on the I Am... disc, it was intended to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Beyoncé's life, stripped of her make-up and celebrity trappings. Columbia Records released the song, the album's fourth single, to mainstream radio in the United States on January 20, 2009, and to international markets on February 20. Inspired by Ray LaMontagne's 2004 song Shelter, Halo was composed by Ryan Tedder, Evan Bogart, and Beyoncé. It was conceived by Tedder and Nealante specifically for Beyoncé, although there was media speculation that it had been intended for Leona Lewis.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.575853 Composed by David Warin Solomons. Arranged by Daniela Mastrandrea. 20th Century. Score and parts. 14 pages. David Warin Solomons #2028821. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.575853). Arrangement by concert pianist and composer Daniela Mastrandrea of my Sweet Suite - a four movement sequence originally written for string quintet. This 2-hands piano version is fairly difficult and requires large stretches at times, but for those who like a challenge it is well worth it. However, we decided it would be good to provide 4-hands versions as well, which are easier to perform and also available on this site. The original stories behind the movements are: 1. Marie for shame - based on a setting of the poem Marie, vous estes paresseuse - Marie for shame you keep a-bed too long, you must get up and enjoy life. 2. Nocturne is basically a segue to the first movement, in which Marie yawns and goes back to sleep! The harmonies are rich and yet somnolent. 3. Camp David is a sprightly number based on the Yiddish folksong Ikh bin a meidel in de joren - I am a maiden come of age and I am looking for a husband. 4. Blue Boar Blue is based on a poem by a friend stuck studying in his college room (Blue Boar Quad at Christ Church Oxford) but dreaming of sunny outings to the river and punting. The sound samples are electronic previews. In the case of the 4-hands versions, the pdf files include the score and also separate piano parts. The original string quintets are also available on this site.

Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1493847). Full scoreProgram note:In the late spring of 2024 I read a review in BBC Music Magazine of an ECM recording from 1994 of Keith Jarrett playing the CPE Bach Württemberg Sonatas. I am a long time fan of CPE Bach's music. But I have confess that the Württemberg Sonatas never did much for me. Maybe it's because all the previous albums of the work were recorded on the harpsichord, which I hate. But, when I heard Keith Jarrett do these sonatas on a Steinway grand, I was blown away!!! So blown away was I that I immediately wanted to do my own version of these great works by CPE. I am calling my work, after John Cage, Sonatas and Interludes. There will be altogether eleven movements. I. Sonata No. 1 - Moderato, Andante II. Sonata No. 1 - Adagio III. Sonata No. 1 - Presto TRIO iV. Interlude 1 - Andante moderato V. Sonata No. 2 - Adagio, più tranquillo TRIO VI. Sonata No. 2 - Molto allegro VII. Sonata No. 2 - Largo VIII. Interlude 2 - Allegro IX. Sonata No. 3 - Moderato X. Sonata No. 3 - Presto TRIO XI.
