Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033008 By Henry Mancini. By Henry Mancini. Arranged by Ralph Nance. Oldies. Octavo. 5 pages. Ralph Nance #6038115. Published by Ralph Nance (A0.1033008). Go where no Mancini has gone before!  In this SSA arrangement, Moon River, a song of longing, changes in style even as we grow through life's stages..  Beginning with a whimsical jazz styling, it moves into sweet traditional harmonies, only to break forth into an English modal lyricism.     Finally, a gentle solo yields to a triumphant expression of the longing for beauty at the heart of us all.Note to SMP:  During Covid, I at this time have to no choir, so am sending an mp3 in which instruments sub for voices.  I hope the score sings for itself.  The score excerpt features the modal variations on the theme.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1413684 By Taylor Swift. By Taylor Swift and William Bowery. Arranged by JJ Gaydon. Country,Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Individual part. 7 pages. JJ Gaydon #995000. Published by JJ Gaydon (A0.1413684). This is an arrangement of Taylor Swiftâ??s and William Boweryâ??s â??bettyâ?? from the album Folklore, for solo fingerstyle guitar. It is best suited to players of an advanced-intermediate level and higher, though lower-intermediate players could make progress on it at slower tempos. The arrangement features syncopated melodic rhythms on top of straight basslines, as well as Travis-picking passages, meaning some familiarity with contemporary fingerpicking styles is beneficial. Recommended for performance on a steel-string or nylon-string acoustic guitar. As far as I am aware this is the first comprehensive fingerstyle arrangement of â??bettyâ?? to be published, with a melodic line and structure authentic to the original song. Only the tempo has been slowed slightly, making some of the more challenging manoeuvres easier to perform and allowing for a more flowing sound on the guitar. Parts of the melody are adapted from subtle electric guitar phrases heard towards the ends of sections in the original recording. Rehearsal marks are used for song sections, while lyrics have been omitted for the sake of readability.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.843715 By Ed Sheeran. By Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, Kal Lavelle, and Steve Mac. Arranged by Bernardo Pereira. Hip-Hop,Multicultural,Pop,R & B,World. Score. 5 pages. Bernardo Pereira #450399. Published by Bernardo Pereira (A0.843715). This arrangement of Shivers is a transposed version in A minor. It presents the main intro in octaves on the right hand (bars 1-7). An offbeat pattern on the left hand accompanies the melody on the right hand. The main chord progression is present throughout the song (Am–F–C–G). On the chorus, the melody has notes that fill the harmony on the second layer and the accompaniment presents a subtle alteration (bars 33-48). The first verse returns on the first ending. The bridge (bars 50-65) follows the same idea from the chorus. The melody is alternately harmonized in thirds and fourths. In the final section, the chorus reappears with a repeat sign. At the end of the song, the tonic chord suddenly appears as seventh chord in arpeggio. It contrasts with the cheerful idea of the chorus. Fingering suggestions and chord symbols are available throughout the arrangement.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1435089 Composed by Stanley M Hoffman. 21st Century,Classical,Opera. Score. 48 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #1015189. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1435089). Opera Scenes 1. At the Clothing Department (3:00); 2. To Get a Ration (9:00) - vocal soloists & piano or chamber ensemble (cl, bn, tpt, tbn, perc, vln, vc) with live or prerecorded crowd noise - 2021, 2024. The libretto is comprised of the insightful observations of a young Jewish boy—Abraham “Abramek” Koplowicz—who was trapped by the Nazis in the Lodz ghetto and who later died in Auschwitz. The libretto appears before each scene in the scores. This may be a relatively brief piece, but it is a major one for me and posthumously for the author. I am fortunate to be the only person given blanket gratis permission to set the words of Abraham Koplowicz to music. He composed a book of poetry, plays, and artwork while imprisoned in the Lodz Ghetto before perishing later in Auschwitz before he could become a Bar Mitzvah. The contents of that book are quite good, sophisticated for his age. Abraham's late half-brother, Eliezer Grynfeld—who found the book in the 1990s—and I eventually became good friends. The Pope once kissed Eliezer's hand. That is how highly regarded this collection is and, by some stroke of luck or fate, I have got exclusive musical rights to the book until it enters the public domain. In my settings of AT THE CLOTHING DEPARTMENT and TO GET A RATION, I combine the musical language of Schoenberg's A SURVIVOR FROM WARSAW very nearly with the instrumentation of Stravinsky's A SOLDIER'S TALE - only the percussion instruments differ. The musical language of these brief opera scenes is appropriately terse, very much in keeping with the oppressiveness of imprisonment. Please have a look and a listen. Thank you for your consideration. ---Words originally in Polish by Abraham (“Abramek”) Koplowicz (b. 1930, Lodz, Poland, d. 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau) Translation by Sarah Lawson and Ma?gorzata Koraszewska Adapted by Stanley M. Trombone Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1076363 Composed by Ben van Dijk. Instructional. Individual part. 108 pages. Gordon Cherry #680517. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1076363). This new 4th edition of Ben van Dijk's book Ben's Basics - Method for Bass Trombone / Tenor Trombone with F attachment is now available from Cherry Classics Music. Below are Ben's thoughts about the book, which is a culmination of ideas from his years as one of the great pedagogs of the Trombone. In this book, I’d like to give you some guidance in various areas of trombone playing. Of course, there are many more topics one could address, but I have focused on three areas in this book. 1. Breathing 2. Daily Routines 3. Warm-up It is my hope to give you some perspective and direction, but it is definitely not my idea to make you dependent on this book. On the contrary, I hope to encourage you to look for ideas yourself and be as inventive as possible. Most of my ideas come from many years of playing and teaching combined with all the wonderful contacts I have had with different experts on these matters during my career. It’s a combination of the ideas which have helped me to come to where I am right now. They also have proven to be of value to many of my students. During many of the master classes I have given in the past years, students and colleagues have asked me to write down my ideas and bundle them into a book.

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813844 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Concert,Contemporary,Folk,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 31 pages. Regis Bookshar #6537751. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813844). Largo (from Symphony No. 9 in E minor) (From the New World) (Db) (String Orchestra) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Largo, based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services, especially Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (23 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 (subtitled From the New World and popularly know as the New World Symphony), was composed by Antonin Dvorak in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 16, 1893 and has been described as one of the most popular of all symphonies. The second movement of the symphony, upon which this arrangement is based, is marked Largo, and begins with a harmonic progression of chords which is then followed by a solo instrument playing the famous main theme.Dvorak was interested in Native American music and the African-American spirituals he heard in North America. While director of the National Conservatory he encountered an African-American student, Harry T. Burleigh, who sang traditional spirituals to him. Burleigh, later a composer himself, said that Dvorak had absorbed their spirit before writing his own melodies. Dvorak stated:    I am convinced that the future music of this country must be founded on what are called Negro melodies. These can be the foundation of a serious and original school of composition to be developed in the United States. These beautiful and varied themes are the product of the soil. They are folk songs of America and your composers must turn to them.He further explained how Native American music influenced his symphony:  I have not actually used any of these (Native American) melodies. I have simply written original themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes as subjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour. In 1893, a newspaper interview quoted Dvorak as saying, I found that the music of the negroes and of the Indians was practically identical, and that the music of the two races bore a remarkable similarity to the music of Scotland. Most historians agree that Dvorak is referring to the pentatonic scale, which is typical of each of these musical traditions.Dvorak was influenced not only by music he heard, but also by what he had seen, in America. He wrote that he would not have composed his American pieces as he had if he had not seen America. It has been said that Dvorak was inspired by the wide open spaces of America, such as the prairies he may have seen on his trip to Iowa in the summer of 1893. Notices about several performances of the symphony include the phrase wide open spaces about what inspired the symphony and/or about the feelings it conveys to listeners. The theme from the Largo was adapted into the spiritual Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvorak's pupil, William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, he has created this version for a String Orchestra. Parts included with the purchase are a 1st Violin, a 2nd Violin, a 3rd Violin, a 1st Viola, a 2nd Viola, a 1st Violon.
