David McKeown #6080555. Published by David McKeown (A0.589582). Bublitschki is a Ukrainian/Jewish Folk song, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Oboe and one Cor Anglais (or English Horn).Bublitschki was written in 1922 by Yakov Jadow. The title means pretzels in Russian and was inspired by the pretzel sellers by the railway station in Odessa. Jadow observed that the street-vendors were poverty-stricken and wrote the song as a lament. Initially popular in the Soviet Union, a recording by the Barry Sisters in 1939 brought this song to an international audience.Bublitschki is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in two sections and is played twice with a short coda and constant variations in the accompaniment. Bublitschki is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of just over three minutes, this version of Bublitschki is perfect for concert performances, both formal and informal. Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553780 Composed by George Butterworth. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Concert,Folk,Graduation. Score and parts. 35 pages. RayThompsonMusic #4346703. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553780). Originally written for a small orchestra it Is arranged here for double wind quintet and bass.George Butterworth (1885-1916) was perhaps the most gifted of the British composers who were killed in the First World War. The Two English Idylls of 1910-1911 is his first surviving orchestral work and was first performed in Oxford in 1912. The delicacy and skill of his orchestration distinguish these folk song-based rhapsodies. In the first, three tunes are used, Dabbling in the dew, Just as the tide was flowing and the lively Henry Martin. All were collected by Butterworth in Sussex. His 2 English Idylls are the prequel to his Third Idyll - The Banks of Green Willow, which is perhaps his best known piece.I have an arrangement of that piece for wind quintet.

Published by Marilena Zlatanou (A0.887055). GREEK FOLK SONG: THALASAKI MOU (Sea, my dearest) Traditional song from the Aegean Islands arranged for SATB choirIn a country surrounded by an often very stormy sea, and including hundreds of islands, this song is a prayer addressed to it, to spare the lives of loved ones. duration: just under 3' Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius file. For more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.net The arrangement attempts to adher to the genuine Greek folk music style as well as allowing some sea waves through it.A piano part is not included but a piano may accompany the choir, dubling the parts, if this is desirable by the conductor. As a Greek living in Norway for most of my adult life, and in my many years’ work as a conductor of a Norwegian choir specializing in Greek music (!), I have experienced the need to enrich the choir’s repertoire with both folk song- as well as other -arrangements of Greek music: This gave me the opportunity to share with our audiences some of the centuries-long musical heritage, as well as helping me make known to them some of the History behind the music of a country of such international historical influence in the past, and such a tourist magnet in our times.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928962 Composed by American Traditional Lullaby. Arranged by Donald A. Mills. A Cappella,Children,Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 2 pages. Donald A Mills #3372897. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928962). This song is a lullaby, a traditional American folk song. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: All the Pretty Little Horses (also known as Hush-a-bye) is a traditional lullaby from the Early United States. The origin of this song is not fully known, but the song is commonly thought to be of African American origin, yet the tune is more easily identified as English or Scottish in origin. This SATB a cappella arrangement by Donald A. Mills ranges in the middle-to-upper levels of expertise. The singers must have a command of breath control, of keeping the tonal center under control, and in an ability to sing in a dissonant chord. The song's duration is comfortable for concert or competition. This beautiful tune is not commonly recognized but is a long-standing lullaby in the American tradition of music. Also available here as a ttbb arrangement.Your chorus and your audiences will love the sweet words, harmonies and melody. Such a rich American tradition. Sing the song as a soft lullaby, in a dream-state. Softly...softly...gently. See and hear more arrangements and compositions by Donald A.
