This Bossa Nova for light orchestra is inspired by the jazz-Brazilian fusion music of the 1960s made popular by composers such as Edu Lobo and Sérgio Mendes. The piece has a lively character, and its many themes and rhythms which change throughout pay a colourful tribute to the Bossa Nova. The piece is a type of invocation to a Brazilian rain god hence the title Danca Da Chuva (Rain Dance), alluding to the current climate situation. It is scored for winds, saxophones, brass, strings, and a rhythm section with guitar, piano, drums, and doubles bass. It is intended for amatuer and semi-professional light orchestras with an intermediate playing ability.

A concert piece for piano that evokes the style and mood of John Ireland's much-loved piano pieces which were inspired by the Channel Islands and composed in the early 20th century. It was commissioned for an honours degree recital and as such is written for pianists at that level. It has some tricky cross-rhythms and crossing of hands in places, but has a pleasing and accessible style and has been well-liked by concert goers.

This part-song for unaccompanied mixed choir is a setting of W. B. Yeats poem - Never Give All The Heart - which cautions against romantic entanglements (!) The piece is light and non-serious and, with its full harmony and imitative part writing, is intended for concert performance or competition. It is written for amateur or professional choirs whose size can support double soprano parts and a fuller choral sound.

This is a setting of one of the earliest known Christmas Carol texts in the English language - I Syng of a Mayden - believed to be sung to music around the 15th century. It is scored for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass choir with church organ and is written for semi-professional choirs. The opening plainsong and modal harmony set a medieval and reverential tone for the piece. This develops into an outpouring a joy and praise for the Virgin Mary and her child represented by full choral harmony with organ pedals.

This is a setting of a hymn called Morning from the English Book of Common Prayer by W. Canton, which is giving thanks to our Lord for the beginning of a new day. I have scored this hymn to be sung by a primary school choir at the beginning of the school day with the music teacher playing piano and other children playing simple, supportive percussive rhythms.
The hymn combines a gentle habanera rythmn together with an English folk song called The Dark Eyed Sailor. The folk song was collected in the early 20th centuary by Ralph Vaughan Williams in the East Anglia region of England. I used this folk song as a tribute to the school for whom this hymn was originally composed.

This arrangement harks back to the orginal song by Caetano Veloso but is based on the Brazilian Choro music genre, which provides a more lively tempo. It is scored for flute, accordion, guitar, piano, drum kit, and double bass, and thus combines elements from both Choro groups and jazz sextets.
The music is light and rythmical with playful counterpoint between the parts, and contains written-out solos for the lead instruments. It is written for musicians with an intermediate to advanced playing ability and would suit more informal music venues.

This arrangement of “Song To The Siren� is based on Tim Buckley's original 1970 version of the song, and is scored for SATB choir with piano. The arrangement follows the verse and chorus structure of Larry Beckett's original text, but there is a countermelody which threads its way between the melody of the song. This is first stated by the piano accompaniment and then taken up by the choir throughout. This is the siren's song calling across the sea which is intended to be both beautiful and haunting at the same time. The piano accompaniment mimics the rolling movement of the sea which builds in intensity until the final closing bars.

The arrangement is intended for choirs of a medium to large size, as the soprano and bass parts occasionally split into two parts.
