However, it's very much a joyful romp through a range of styles.The main theme is in 5/4 and it moves through a range of - mostly - irregular time-signatures, but uses a harmonic and melodic vocabluary strongly influenced by Bach, with lashings of some more jazzy language. There is a brief (two beat long) quote of Paul McCartney's song Blackbird used as thematic material in the second episode, the guitar part of which was also based on a piece by Bach.
