Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart,[2] was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era.

Born in Salzburg, Austria, he showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of 5 and performed before European royalty. At 17, Mozart was engaged as a musician at the Salzburg court, but grew restless and traveled in search of a better position. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his death.

The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He was survived by his wife Constanze and two sons.

He composed more than 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classicalcomposers, and his influence is profound on subsequent Western art music. Ludwig van Beethoven composed his own early works in the shadow of Mozart, and Joseph Haydn wrote: posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years. This arrangement of Haydn's masterpiece from his Missa in Angustiis features the principal players of each section as it alternates between string quartet phrases and the sound of the full string orchestra. It is somewhat reminiscent of a concerto grosso in style, but stays true to the original in key and overall form and is suitable for concert or contest performance.

Written for the arranger’s Middle School string orchestra, the arrangement provides an opportunity to feature your more advanced players in a relatively safe way with short group solos while the rest of the orchestra also stays engaged. All of the upper string parts can all be played in first position, with some shifting required of the cellos and basses.

Acompañado por la orquesta del maestro peruano Jorge Huirse Reyes, nacido en Puno, el 30 de agosto de 1920 y fallecido en Lima, el 11 de diciembre de 1992.

Felipe Pinglo Alva es conocido como el Maestro de los Autores y Compositores del Perú. Nació en 1899 y fallece en 1936 a los 35 años. A él le pertenecen la letra y música de los valses peruanos El Plebeyo y El espejo de mi Vida de gran difusión en la Argentina, él no llego a conocer en vida la trascendencia de sus temas.

Five short pieces for strings
inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

At age 8 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart toured Europe with his father Leopold. He performed in many cities and presented as a wonder child. While travelling he composed, as always under the stern supervision of his father. During his stay in London (1764) he composed 33 short pieces, some of which he did not finish. The London Sketchbook (KV 151- 15ss) has been retained until today and is a brilliant display of Mozart’s talent as a young boy.

How would Mozart have composed, if he lived today? Or if he was not committed to the ridged rules of composition dictated by his father? What if he had more harmonic or rhythmic freedom? These adaptions may reflect how such pieces could have sounded.

Mozart was named at birth Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. The name Amadeus was used later in his life.

There are 12 riddles in this piece, what I am trying to do is that I hope everyone (who is interested in it) can try to figure them out: I-IV. The chords are not accompanying the melody, there is a meaning behind those chords Va. Find which one is the ‘real melody’ and there is a hidden code behind it. Vb. hint: dance style VI. Hint: another dance style VII. This chord sounds in a place where it is not real VIII. Minor form of I-IV, but what does it mean? IX. (In the piano part) Again, chords are not accompanying the melody, there is a code behind it (you may try the chord progression) X. Basically same with IX, but more agitated XI. Please do not associate these riddles to my other compositions XII. The riddle (bracketed in red) is only useful in the 1st movement. The purpose of writing this piece is actually quite similar to op.3 (concerto for cello and sinfonietta), but this piece is dedicated to one of my most respected musician, Mstislav Rostropovich. I am sure that he was the greatest cellist, what I appreciated most is his interpretation about all the pieces (especially Haydn). This piece was written when I was just graduated to secondary school, I was so nervous because of the brand new environment but also curious about everything, I joined the school orchestra and there was a concert for 170th school anniversary, I would never forget that concert in my life, it was the most extensive concert that I have attended (people were buying tickets to watch our performance) I was extremely nervous, but I was very happy in the percussion section. During rehearsal, I heard the amazing cello sound, that is a sound that I adored, it was the most amazing sound that I have ever heard, I was totally obsessed with the instrument, and I listen to cello concerto every day. Haydn, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Schumann. I was totally obsessed with the instrument! Then I thought, why don’t I write a cello concerto by myself? That’s why I composed this piece. A Northern Ballad was completed on March 11, 1899. The world premiere was on April 7, 1899, performed by the New Haven Symphony, with the composer also as conductor. Within a year, the piece had been performed by the symphonies of Boston, Chicago, New York, and Cincinnati. For a work that was initially so popular, the score has never been published, until now.
