Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533495 Composed by Ali Ben Sou Alle. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 18 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3000191. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533495). “Loc-tee-kun-tzin: air chinoise et Rondo. Souvenirs de la Chine starts with a setting of the Chinese folksong « Loc-tee-kun-tzin », one of eight used by Pucinni in his opera Turandot but set in a completely different harmonic context here. The Rondo which follows is in the form of a valse with several scherzando passages and an brillant code. The folksong is briefly reprised before the concise endingOne of the most enigmatic figures in the history of Wind Music, Ali Ben Sou Alle (Charles-Valentin Soualle) s born in 1820 in Arras, France. After receiving his first prize in Clarinet at the Paris Conservatory in 1844. he served as the director of music of The French Marine Band in Senegal, and then was named first clarinet solo at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. However, after the Revolution of 1848, Soualle was forced to flee France to England where he settled in London, playing in the Orchestra of the Queen's Theatre. His songs and piano pieces were published in London. While in London, Soualle met another exiled French musician, Louis Antoine Jullien, who conducted a light music series in London. Jullien encouraged Soualle to take up the saxophone, and after modifying the instrument by adding a single octave mechanism (the modern system used today) and keys for the lower register, Soualle became known as a virtuoso and began touring performing solo recitals (or mono-concerts, as they were called at the time) calling his modified saxophone the «turcophone ». He performed in all the European capitals and then traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Manilla, Java, through China and then to India where he finally settled in Mysore, becoming the director of the Royal Music for the Maharadjah. It was during this period that he converted to Islam and changed his nmae to Ali ben Sou Alle (or Ali, son of Soualle). He subsequently travaled to Ile Maurice, to French Polynesia, the Cap of Natal and the Cap of Good Hope. All of these voyages were subjects of musical works which Soualle entitled Souvenirs de... and may perhaps have been part of a collectionknown as The Royal Album which was presented to the Prince of Wales after a royal concert. Soualle returned to Mysore in 1858 and was almost killed in the Indian Revolution.Around 1860, Soualle returned to France for health reasons and began publishing his own music. On March 27 1865, he performed a command performance for the Emperor Napoleon III at the Tuileries Palace in the presence of the entire Imperial Family. After 1865, nothing more is known about him.

Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGB487). UPC: 749193012079.A vision quest is a period of spiritual seeking among certain Native American peoples. It is a religious custom in which people climb to remote sites to fast, pray and commune with nature. Individuals may pray to each of the four directions, seeking certain benefits from each. This four-movement original work illustrates a prayer by David Dillon, which he used on his own vision quest. The movements use recurring but evolving themes, reflecting each petition of the prayer. A myriad of percussion instruments enhance the mystical quality of the music. The movements are entitled: I. I pray to the West which gives us rest and reflection; II. I pray to the North which gives us patience and purity; III. I pray to the East which gives us energy and emotions; IV. I pray to the South which gives us discipline and direction. Percussion parts include: Shaker (Maraca or Rattle), 2 Small Stones, Ankle Bells, Chime Tree/Mark Tree, Finger Cymbals, Whip Crack (without spring mechanism).

Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019376). I'm Looking For SomeoneInspiration In 2012 my work load had increased to the point where I had no time for myself. My wife with MS was doing the best she could with the illness; her coping mechanism was to ignore reality. In addition my mother in-law's health had gotten worse which required more of my time, including the maintenance of her home. Add a full time job, a new dog the wife rescued and 2 cats and there was in essence negative time for me. This piece explores those feelings. The Music Rock music with a nice harmonized chorus. The piece speaks for itself.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270957 Composed by Edward Miller, Isaac Watts, William Penfro Rowlands and Charles Wesley. Arranged by Michael Thomas Andrews. Christian,Classical,Easter,Religious,Sacred. Score and Parts. 112 pages. Michael Thomas Andrews #863342. Published by Michael Thomas Andrews (A0.1270957). This new work was premiered at the Royal Albert Hall at The Coronation Prom on the date of His Majesty The King's Coronation by soprano Joanne Lunn and the All Souls Orchestra.  This imaginative arrangement of 'When I Survey the Wondrous Cross' with the final verse of 'Love Divine, All Loves Excelling' for soprano solo and orchestra begins with a pianissimo muted string texture as we fix our eyes upon the cross of Christ before crescendoing to a glorious finale in which we lay our crowns before the King of all Creation.  This would be a perfect addition to a concert with full symphony orchestra and a soprano soloist with an extensive vocal range.  If desired, the top vocal C in the final verse in bar 123 may be replaced by holding the top A across the full beat.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.719655 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Curtis Hanson #506709. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719655). The awe and mystery of the night of all nights is never more exemplified than in this setting of Silent Night for women's chorus and organ (or piano) and optional handbells. Beginning at a hushed pianissimo, the dynamics grow to a glorious fortissimo at the close of the third verse. This setting features the sopranos in unison on the first verse. Three-part women sing the second and third with minimal divisi into four-part harmony. After the climax, the work diminishes to the quiet solemnity heard at the beginning. This piece is sure to be the highlight of any holiday program or worship service. An SATB version of the piece is available from Beautiful Star Publishing.
