Instrumental Duet,Piano C Trumpet,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1206435 Composed by Elizabeth Raum. Chamber,Contemporary. 36 pages. Gordon Cherry #804638. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1206435). Below are the program notes for Illusion for Trumpet, Bass Trombone & Piano by Elizabeth Raum.Illusion, is a general commentary to the fact that life is mysterious and generally, uncertain, constantly shifting. We try to influence what happens but usually, outside forces determine the direction of our lives. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between illusion and reality, and, in fact, often people much prefer illusion to reality. Mv. 1 - Illusion starts out with an obscure time signature and is constantly shifting tonalities so for a while, you aren’t quite sure where you are. Life is full of such deceptions.Mv. 2 - Fill the Wine Cup is a series of drinking songs with a lot of gayety and rollocking humour as the party gets more raucous, but eventually things get a little blurry and bombastic and the party winds down. The trombone, due to its ability to imitate drunken reeling with glissandos, is often cast in this role. M. 3 - Destiny seems to march on and on, with mankind hoping to control their future, but the implication is that fate is more powerful than one can control.M. 4 - The ultimate illusion: a Political Debate. The trombone starts out as the first candidate, and the saxophone is the other. The music is circus-like as befits many heated debates.Illusion was commissioned by Lucas Kaspar and JD Little. The original version was written for Alto Sax and Bass TromboneThe work of about 10 minutes in length is appropriate for advanced performers and may also be performed on a Trombone with an f-attachment.This work can be performed on a Trombone with an f-attachment and is appropriate for advanced performers.

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942953 Composed by Geoffrey Peterson. Contemporary. Score and parts. 43 pages. Geoffrey Peterson #4267231. Published by Geoffrey Peterson (A0.942953). Link to complete recording: https://soundcloud.com/geoffrey-peterson/sets/the-edmund-fitzgerald-concerto On November 9th, 1975, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald left port in Superior, Wisconsin. The 729-foot-long iron ore carrier, loaded with 26 thousand tons of taconite pellets for the auto industry, was bound for Detroit. Earlier that day, the weather service had issued a gale warning. This was not unusual, considering that gale storms are typical during November on Lake Superior. The Fitzgerald’s Captain, Ernest McSorley, and her 29-member crew headed northeast unaware of the maelstrom they would soon encounter. At around 2 a.m., Bernie Cooper, captain of the Arthur M. Andersen, another freighter which was following a few miles behind the Fitzgerald, radioed Captain McSorley to consult with him about the worsening storm. They had both decided to take a more northerly route along the Canadian shore, which they hoped would provide some shelter from the violent gale winds and waves. The Fitzgerald’s long-range radar stopped working the following day and was needed in order to avoid Six-Fathom Shoal, a shallow area of Lake Superior that could rupture the ship’s hull. McSorley soon radioed the Anderson to report that the Fitzgerald had sustained some topside damage...a fence rail down, two vents lost or damaged, and a starboard list. A list meant that the Fitzgerald was taking on too much water and was causing it to lean to one side. The short-range radar also stopped working, and the radio direction beacon from nearby Whitefish Point vanished. This would make it impossible for the Fitzgerald to reach the lee waters of Whitefish Bay and escape the 80 mph winds churning 20 to 30-foot waves. At 7:10 p.m. that night, First Mate Morgan Clark of the Andersen radioed the Fitzgerald to see how they were doing. Captain McSorley replied, We’re holding our own. This was the last contact anyone would have with the Fitzgerald. Shortly thereafter, the Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared from the Anderson’s radar screen. All 29 of her crew were lost on November 10th, 1975. The Edmund Fitzgerald chronicles the tragic final voyage of the well-known shipwreck in 4 movements; Embarkment, The Gales, Six-Fathom Shoal (We’re holding our own.) and Entombment-Dirge. The concerto makes use of several musical quotes. The first is Spanish Ladies, an English sea chantey, which appears in both the 1st and 3rd movements. The second is the funeral march theme from the 2nd movement of Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony which is heard in the 4th movement of the concerto. In addition, a chime is rung 29 times during the final bars of the concerto to memorialize the men who lost their lives. The Crew of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald: Michael E. Armagost, Frederick J. Beetcher, Thomas D. Bentsen, Edward F. Bindon, Thomas D. Borgeson, Oliver J. Champeau, Nolan S. Church, Ransom E. Cundy, Thomas E. Edwards, Russell G. Haskell, George J. Holl, Bruce L. Small Ensemble Cello,Clarinet,Flute,Piano Accompaniment,Vibraphone,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533618 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 36 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3031747. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533618). Dark December: Ignis Dei (2002) was commissioned by Maurice and Amy Katz and was written forand is dedicated to Non Sequitur. It is scored for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, vibraphone, and piano, andis subtitled “processional doubles for mixed sextet.†(The word “doubles†is used in the old sense of“variations.â€)The source material for the composition is the composer's original hymn tune DOLMEN CREEK(2002), whose text by Margaret Clarkson (Burn in Me, Fire of God) provides the Ignis Dei of thetitle and poetic conception. The poetic conception is one of an emergence of a single inner flame, amida dark landscape. The tune is never heard in its full or straightforward form – instead it is always heard in fragment ortransformation. Its formal structure also provides the dimensions and structures of the four sections.Formally, the work is cast in a single movement as a series of three processionals plus a finalglorification-postlude. The conception of the work is ritualistic in tone, and pushes forward towardsthe end.The opening processional (for the entire sextet) is very slow and distant and sets out transformations ofthe hymn tune in its most abstruse form. The second processional (for violin, cello, and vibraphone) isslightly faster and features an active and independent vibraphone part over a cortege in the two strings. The third processional (for flute, clarinet, and piano) is quick and nimble as gestures and material arepassed between the two winds, and the piano provides commentary and allusions. In this processional, afragment of the hymn is heard in its most clear form. The final glorification-postlude brings the entireensemble together again in a vibrant coda of busy activity.Carson

Piano Accompaniment,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1323447 Composed by John Henry Hopkins Jr./English Ballad. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas,Folk,Holiday. 10 pages. Connie Boss #911667. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1323447). I have always loved Scarborough Fair. I needed to do something a little different than the Simon and Garfunkel version which is very iconic. I also wanted to use the melody for a Christmas song. I thought about how close We Three Kings was in places and decided it was a great song to do a combo with. This version is for violin duet and piano. I have this in all kind of version including a men's version and SATB as well. I have version of just duet and piano and then with choir or with strings as well. Parts are included with this purchase. I hope you enjoy the mysterious sounding music. I just felt it was needed on this arrangement. For any questions or requests, email cdboss@cvalley.net.
