Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012003 Composed by Haydon Harvey. Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Haydon Harvey #3530437. Published by Haydon Harvey (A0.1012003). The Horse Head Nebula is part of a series of piano pieces called the Nebula Preludes and is the 2nd piece in the series. The actual horse head nebula is rather interesting as the formation that resembles a horses head makes up a very small part of the nebula. The nebula as a whole is rather globular with no apparent pattern as one can often see in a nebula. Like the first piece in the series, the Horse Head Nebula is also a piece rather heavy with octave playing but there is a nice mix of chordal and finger work in it. It is a short piece of music just under 2 min.Care must be taken not to bash out the notes especially during the more energetic sections. You can follow me on YouTube to stay up-to-date with my latest compositions and/or you can find me on Facebook.https://youtube.com/channel/UCDH5k8WC2fjcY_5i6fmyHfghttps://www.facebook.com/Haydon-Harvey-1530590653733377/

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.925020 Composed by Jen Wagner. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Jen Wagner #4623157. Published by Jen Wagner (A0.925020). Octavo Available www.jenwagnermusic.com  p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Baskerville; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} The text Lacrimósa is taken from the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass.  The piece is composed in three sections, representative of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The close harmonies create the mournful emotional tension.  Word painting and story telling is apparent throughout, especially in passages such as resúrget, in which a solo soprano soars above the choir representing the ascension to heaven, and the repeated Lacrimósa, paints an image of tears falling down ones face.  A sense of urgency begins to build in the  Judicándus section, and the melodic and harmonic structure changes.  As the harmonies build and tempo increases you can feel the fear of the unknown future which lies ahead.  Begging and pleading for forgiveness ensues as the voices call out, párce Déus, to be seated at the Father’s side. As the tension builds and harmonies become more complex the piece escalates to its climax and comes to an abrupt end. After a slight pause, the calm settles in.  Judgement has been passed and the tenors transition us to the Píe Jésu section with Dóna éis réquiem, surrounded by the return of the melodic motif meant to appear as the angels delivering the assurances of God’s mercifulness.  The final phrase dóna éis réquiem, is sung with cross voicing found in the tenor and bass section representing the ascension to heaven as the harmonies settle into their final resting place.

Organ - Digital Download SKU: A0.828694 Composed by Johann Speth. Arranged by Guido Menestrina. Baroque. Score. 6 pages. Guido Menestrina #115545. Published by Guido Menestrina (A0.828694). Johann Speth (1664-1719) - Toccata Prima oder erstes musikalishes Blumen-Feld Transcribed by Guido Menestrina - youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8huOtZ9bQak From Wikipedia: Johann (Johannes) Speth (9 November 1664 – after 1719) was a German organist and composer. He was born in Speinshart, some 150 km from Nuremberg, but spent most of his life in Augsburg, where he worked as cathedral organist for two years. His only surviving music is a 1693 collection, Ars Magna Consoni et Dissoni, which includes toccatas, Magnificat versets and variations in south German style. Speth was born in Speinshart, Bavaria, to teacher Heinrich Speth and his wife Margareta (née Vichtl). Past scholars established that Speth must have received music lessons from the abbot of the Premonstratensian monastery at Speinshart, one Dominikus Lieblein, however, this has recently been disproven. Nothing is known about his life before 1692, when he applied for the position of organist of Augsburg Cathedral. The application, which contained Speth's compositions, was accepted, and he was appointed organist on 4 November 1692. The music he supplied with the application was published the next year in Augsburg as Ars magna Consoni et Dissoni. In the files of the cathedral administration there is a note from 1705 showing that Speth had also to work in the office of the cathedral chapter. The exact date of Speth's death is unknown, but there is a document that shows that in 1719, he still lived with his wife and a maidservant in Augsburg. The composer's only surviving work is the collection published in 1693 in Augsburg, Ars magna Consoni et Dissoni. The title may be a reference to Athanasius Kircher's famous book, Musurgia universalis, sive ars magna consoni et dissoni (1650). An early description of the work was included by Johann Gottfried Walther in his Musikalisches Lexicon; Walther claimed Speth only compiled the pieces but did not compose. This hypothesis is now generally considered false. Ars Magna contains music intended for organ or clavichord: 10 toccatas (subtitled Musicalische Blumen-Felder), 8 Magnificat settings, and three variation sets. The music has clearly traceable Italian influences, with direct borrowings: one of the variation sets is built on a theme by Bernardo Pasquini, there is also a passage from Bernardo Storace in the Spangioletta variation set, and a verset by Alessandro Poglietti (quinti toni no. 3). The influence of contemporary southern organists is also apparent, particularly that of Georg Muffat and Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer. The toccatas are unusually short for the genre; most consist of three (toccata-fugue-toccata) sections. There are some interesting features such as dynamic indications in Toccata quarta. The Magnificat settings are, like similar pieces by Johann Kaspar Kerll and others, short versets for alternatim practice.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1111962 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Christian,Classical,Religious,Sacred. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #714140. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1111962). Arranged standard brass quintet Mozart's textual inspiration is apparent in the Tuba mirum (Hark, the trumpet) movement, which is introduced with a sequence of three notes in arpeggio, played in B♭ major by a solo tenor trombone, unaccompanied, in accordance with the usual German translation of the Latin tuba, Posaune (trombone). Two measures later, the bass soloist enters, imitating the same theme. At m. 7, there is a fermata, the only point in all the work at which a solo cadence occurs. The final quarter notes of the bass soloist herald the arrival of the tenor, followed by the alto and soprano in dramatic fashion. On the text Cum vix justus sit securus (When only barely may the just one be secure), there is a switch to a homophonic segment sung by the quartet at the same time, articulating, without accompaniment, the cum and vix on the strong (1st and 3rd), then on the weak (2nd and 4th) beats, with the violins and continuo responding each time; this interruption (which one may interpret as the interruption preceding the Last Judgment) is heard sotto voce, forte and then piano to bring the movement finally into a crescendo into a perfect cadence. My arrangement gives the trombone part to the horn, and the vocal entries are given to the trombone, horn and two trumpets. . Section III of the requiem is titled “Sequenz†(sequentia or sequence). It is made up of the following pieces I have arrangements of all of them, for varying types of ensemble * Dies irae * Tuba mirum * Rex tremendae * Recordare * Confutatis * Lacrymosa. I have also arranged Mozarts Motet “Ave Verum Corpus†K618.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.914978 Composed by ROBERT VAN HORNE. Children,Christmas,Holiday,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 8 pages. White Piano International Publishing #6612583. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.914978). SILENT GIFTS Advanced Intermediate Piano Soloby ROBERT VAN HORNE8 PagesOn the evening of November 9, 2009, while rehearsing some Christmas music at the piano, inspiration for composing a holiday piano solo came to me after playing the beautiful Christmas classic Silent Night. After a few minutes of creating a melody, I quickly wrote down some of the ideas for this song while imagining the anticipation of Christmas with family and friends and the traditional custom of giving gifts. What would be the most natural gift to give anyone, I thought. After finishing the song, the answer became apparent - the silent gift of a smile and thus the title Silent Gifts. This Advanced Intermediate Christmas piano solo is clearly and carefully notated with dynamic marks, phrasing, suggested fingerings, pedal indications, chord identifications and appropriate musical terms for playing. Some of the chords are challenging especially when some notes are held while others are played with the same hand. Many of these chords include jazz ninths. The 6/8 time signature gives the piece a lilting quality. The bridge section builds to a climatic dominate seventh chord followed by an arpeggiated run in both hands. This original piano piece sounds artistic and impressive, a wonderful Holiday selection, ideal for teaching, recitals, and enjoyment. Both Piano/Vocal and Chorus arrangements of Silent Gifts are available, as well as an Easy Piano arrangement.A 2009 original YouTube video of Robert's premier performance is available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nQWbgBNbwURobert Van Horne is a long standing member of ASCAP.Official Website: www.robertvanhorne.comEmail: rvh@robertvanhorne.com.

Large Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569831 Composed by Austin Ralphson. Instructional. Score and parts. 57 pages. Austin Ralphson #4626517. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.569831). Melody: Passing Notes - Perform, Compose, Understand Series. This pack comprises a piece called Missing Links, worksheets and questions which relate to the piece. It is all about understanding melodic movement and direction.Welcome to the PCU Series for classroom-based groups. This series focuses on learning by doing; there are many accomplished performers within our school classrooms throughout the world, but my years of experience has taught me that many of these students learn to play by rote – literally be learning one note followed by another – without gaining full understanding of how the pieces work musically and theoretically. Indeed, some of them can perform to a high standard using this method, but then really struggle with composition and general musical understanding later in their educational careers.I equate this to learning to speak sentences in a foreign language without fully understanding what those sentences actually mean.So who is this book for?It is for music teachers to use with their students who are learning to create exam-level compositions within a school environment. It is ideal for courses such as the American High School Diploma, GCSE, IGCSE, SCS, HKCEE, IB(MYP), SPM, GCEO, CCEF, HKCEE, VSSD, GES or ICSE.It is designed to cater for almost any instrument due to the parts being provided in many different keys and clefs (including tab and bass tab). Drum parts are intentionally not provided as drummers still need to have a good understanding of non-percussive elements such as melody and harmony; I would suggest that they play a keyboard part for the purposes of learning about composition. You can also download backing tracks of all pieces in this series by searching:Classroom Performance educational pack: MELODY backing tracksThese contain parts 2-5, allowing part 1 to be played live over the top.  How to use this resourceThis pack comprises three stages, the third of which should be gained from success with the first two:1. PerformingAn original performance piece is provided for mixed classroom ensemble. This piece features a musical device of some kind as its focus. There will obviously be other musical components included within the piece as well, but the main element will be very apparent.2. ComposingWorksheets are provided to enable students to develop their own compositions based on the same focus as the performance piece. Elements of the performance piece are highlighted and short, developmental activities will lead to the students developing their own musical ideas.3. Understanding          Summary worksheets are provided to enable students to demonstrate their understanding of the topic. There are two musical elements which appear in all pieces within this PCU series. They are dynamics and articulation. All performance pieces contain them and opportunity is provided to include them within the composing exercises as well.Printing and CopyingThe purchaser may print or copy all pages of this resource as required, but must not distribute to others. It is advised to produce resources for students as follows:* Print which ever parts are needed to facilitate a performance* Produce a booklet containing the title page, score and worksheets. The performance piece could also be used for the performing component of your examined course as well if appropriate.** Also look out for the other packs in the PCU Series which cover melody, rhythm, structure, texture and harmony. Multi-pack deals are also available. **
