This arrangement of Cocktails For Two is written as performed by the famous cocktail pianist, Bill Snyder. 

William P. Snyder (November 7, 1916 – Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, May 11, 2011) was an American pianist, bandleader and songwriter of the 1950s.

Snyder studied under Moriz Rosenthal in Paris and served in the Air Force during the Second World War. Snyder first had a massive hit with Lorenz Hart's Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered in 1950. The song reached the top position on the Cash Box list of The Nation's Top Ten Juke Box Tunes. Through the 1950s, Snyder was America's most recorded light music pianist with nine gold and one platinum awards for his singles and albums.

Cocktails for Two is a song from the Big Band era, written by Arthur Johnston and Sam Coslow. The song debuted in the movie Murder at the Vanities (1934), where it was introduced by the Danish singer and actor Carl Brisson. Duke Ellington's version of the song was recorded in 1934 and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2007.

The song alludes to Repeal, the ending of Prohibition in the United States. The introduction begins with:

Oh what delight to
Be given the right to
Be carefree and gay once again.
No longer slinking,
Respectably drinking
Like civilized ladies and men.

The Lost Chord is a song composed by Arthur Sullivan in 1877
at the bedside of his brother Fred during Fred's last illness.
The manuscript is dated 13 January 1877; Fred Sullivan died five days later. The lyric was written as a poem by Adelaide Anne Procter called A Lost Chord,

published in 1858 in The English Woman's Journal.

The song was immediately successful and became particularly associated with American contralto Antoinette Sterling, with Sullivan's close friend and mistress, Fanny Ronalds,
and with British contralto Clara Butt.

Sullivan was proud of the song and later noted:
I have composed much music since then,
but have never written a second Lost Chord.
Many singers have recorded the song, including Enrico Caruso, who sang it at the Metropolitan Opera House on 29 April 1912 at a benefit concert for families of victims

of the Titanic disaster.

The piece has endured as one of Sullivan's best-known songs, and the setting is still performed today.

On April 4,1951, Tony Bennett recorded this beautiful and memorable song BECAUSE OF YOU with Percy Faith conducting. It reached number one on the Billboard charts remaining there for 10 weeks. He continued performing the song during his career, even singing it at his final concert. He died July 21, 2023 at the age of 96 in New York City.

This Intermediate Piano Solo Arrangement is written in the key of E flat. It is clearly and carefully notated with dynamic marks, phrasing, suggested fingerings, pedal indications, chord identifications and appropriate musical terms for playing.
