The ancient farmstead of Hougoumont just south of Brussels was a pivotal site during the Battle of Waterloo, and has been restored to its pre-battle condition to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the conflict. It was the haunting atmosphere of the old, crumbling farm, however, and the tragic events that occurred there, that inspired this music...and the book. Waterloo Meditation was teamed with photographs of Hougoumont taken by digital artist Nicholas Maxson to create a music video by the same name. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra.  Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.
