Reet Petite (The Sweetest Girl in Town) (originally subtitled The Finest Girl You Ever Want to Meet) is a song made popular by Jackie Wilson. It was his first solo hit after leaving the Dominoes and, over the years, has become one of his biggest international chart successes.

The song was written by Berry Gordy, Gwen Gordy Fuqua, and Wilson's cousin Roquel Billy Davis (though credited under his pseudonym Tyran Carlo on the record) and produced by Dick Jacobs, and its title was taken from the Louis Jordan song Reet, Petite and Gone. It was Jackie Wilson's first recording as a solo artist. The song peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1957 and reached #6 on the UK Singles Chart. With the success of the song, Gordy was able to fund the launch of Motown Records.

The song was reissued in 1986 following the showing of a clay animation video on the BBC Two documentary series Arena. The video was directed by Giblets, a London-based animation studio. The reissued version proved so popular that in December 1986, almost three years after Wilson's death, the song became a No. 1 in the UK for four weeks (selling over 700,000 copies), some 29 years after its chart debut. -- Wikipedia

Bleus - yes, I meant to spell it way.  Well, I didn't when it started out as a homework assignment for a Berklee class, but the silly misspelling ended up being the title.

This is an original composition of mine, arranged for String Orchestra/String Quintet.  It starts out kind of sparse and creepy, and boils over into an all-out blues brawl for strings!

Dreaming of Home and Mother is an 1868 song by American doctor and composer John Pond Ordway. It is most popular in Japan and China. The Chinese version is called ?? (Songbie, Farewell), and the Japanese version is called ??(Ryosh?, Yearning (for home) in traveling)

The lyrics of Songbie were written by Chinese artist, musician, and Buddhist monk Hong Yi (Li Shutong)
The lyrics of Ryosh? were written by school music teacher and lyricist Ky?kei Ind? (????)

It was selected as one of the 100 Best Known Japanese Songs in 2007.
It was also played in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics' closing ceremony as a farewell song.

Various articles in specialized journals and sites have cited the composer, such as the Flutist Quarterly (Circus Brasilis - The flute music of Sergio Roberto de Oliveira), Early Music America (Something New for Early Music), Andante.com (The heirs of Villa-Lobos), 21st Century Music, Musicabrasileira.org, etc. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira has frequently been invited to lecture at American universities, and has spoken at more than a dozen institutions including Princeton and Duke. In 2009 he was Artist-in-Residence at Duke University. In addition the USA and the UK, Oliveira's music has also been played in many countries, with invitations for concerts exclusively with his music in México, Italy and Holland (Amsterdam).  The Spanish Magazine Sonograma has published 2 interviews with Sergio.

Sergio is the founder and a member of the group of composers Prelúdio 21. The group is one of the most active worldwide. It holds a distinguished place in Brazilian contemporary music, having been active for 15 consecutive seasons, with a permanent series of monthly concerts since 2008. In 2011 the group released the CD String Quartets, with performances by the Quarteto Radamés Gnattali. Oliveira is also a member of the group of composers Vox Novus, based in New York.

To commemorate 15 years of activity as a composer, Oliveira released a box set with 4 CDs, as well as a CD with composer Mark Hagerty, and produced the series QUINZE, with 13 concerts including his works, between July and October of 2012.  More than 130 musicians, including 28 composers, participated of QUINZE (CDs and series).

His discography includes 14 CDs as producer, 14 as composer, 22 as general producer, 2 as arranger and 2 as pianist. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra.  

Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.

He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.

This is a simple arrangement of a very popular song released in the summer of 2019.

The solo is approximately Grade 2/3 ABRSM/Trinity and is a great diversion away from the syllabus.
George Ezra is an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. After releasing two EPs, Did You Hear the Rain? in November 2013 and Cassy O' in March 2014, Ezra rose to prominence with the release of his hit single, Budapest, which reached number one in several countries. His debut studio album, Wanted on Voyage, was released in June 2014, reaching number one in the UK and the top ten in seven other countries. It was also the third best-selling album of 2014 in the UK.
