Violin and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q20935 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Martín Melitón Pablo de Sarasate y Navascuez. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Op. 9/2 - op. 27/2. Schott Music - Digital #Q20935. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20935). Pablo de Sarasate (1844-1908), undoubtedly, is one of the most important and most successful violin virtuosos of the second half of the 19th century and has become immortal through his virtuoso and highly expressive bravura pieces in the world of violin playing. His concert programme mostly consisted of his own compositions, even if quite a few works had been dedicated to him by fellow composers and tailor-made for him: for example, 'Symphonie espagnole' by Lalo, 'Scottish Fantasia' by Bruch and violin works by Saint-Saëns and Wieniawski. Apart from works of his own, Sarasate also arranged other works for his own use, such as the two 'Nocturnes' by Frédéric Chopin. To pianists, it may seem like sacrilege to arrange such masterpieces but Sarasate wanted to subscribe some of the most beautiful and most tender melodies to the violin which he saw primarily as a vocal instrument. Or he might have regretted that Chopin had not written any original work for violin and piano – but here's Sarasate's arrangement to make up for this lack.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.730488 Composed by James Nathaniel Holland. Contemporary,Folk,World. Score and parts. 315 pages. James Nathaniel Holland #4359113. Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730488). INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENT PARTS only, Full score sold separately. Haitian voodoo rhythms, and gods Damballa Wedo, Papa Legba, Ezulie, Baron Zamdi the Gede are brought to the orchestral concert stage in this second symphony of American composer James Nathaniel Holland, who served for a while in Haiti in the US Peace Corps in the 1990s. The symphony for large orchestra is divided into three movements. It begins with a rousing invocation which melts into a sensitive section, sympathetic of the human condition and of the Republic of the Caribbean island of Haiti. The second movement, actually three sections, is very a very African sounding fugue that changes into a contraposition of the quiet, mysterious Minwet and the European French Minuet, and ends with an almost church joyous, dance of complex percussion, call and response. The last movement incorporates multimedia of the beauty of spoken Kreyol language: stating that we, ourselves, are the gods expressed in the Haitian folk dances. And ends with an energetic Haitian carnival section.   Great, varied and different, showpiece for any symphony orchestral concert with overtones of jazz and Afro Carib music. Instrumentation: picc/fl 1.2., fl/altofl. 3.4., ob 1.2., pic cl./clBb 1, clBb 2.3.4., bcl., ssax, asax, tsax, bsax, bsn 1.2., cbsn, hrns 1.2.3.4., tpt 1.2.3., trom. 1.2., btrm, tba, timp, perc (bdrm, slapstick (or whip) maracas, metal guiro, agogo bells, calabasa, crash cyms, tri., bongos, congos, celeste., marimba) harp, strings.YouTube Presentation:  https://youtu.be/ON24g0ZJFQwComposer website: https://www.facebook.com/jamesnathanielholland/

Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.805624 Composed by Pablo de Sarasate. Arranged by Marcus Martin. Concert,Romantic Period. 19 pages. Cornelius Edition (uk) #6478357. Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.805624). Zigeunerweisen or Gypsy Airs,  Op. 20, was written in 1878 by the Spanish composer Pablo de Sarasate. In 4 distinct sections, the themes in the piece are not of Romani origin, but were all actually adapted from Hungarian music pieces: e.g. the last section uses a theme from Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 13, in the rhythm of the csárdás. As one of Sarasate's most popular compositions and a favourite among violin virtuosos, the work has remained a staple concert item and on recordings  since Sarasate himself recorded it in 1904, The Piano part is adapted from the orchestral score.

Violin and piano - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q20941 Composed by Martin Meliton Pablo de Sarasate y Navascuez. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Op. 43. Schott Music - Digital #Q20941. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20941). Pablo de Sarasate (1844-1908), undoubtedly, is one of the most important and most successful violin virtuosos of the second half of the 19th century and has become immortal through his virtuoso and highly expressive bravura pieces in the world of violin playing. In 1899 Sarasate composed one of his most popular, non-Spanish pieces, 'Introduction & Tarantella' Op. 43, which was published in the following year, even in a version with orchestra accompaniment. The tarantella, a folk dance in 6/8 metre, comes from southern Italy and has developed from dance tunes played in Apulia for people suffering from tarantism. According to popular belief, the bite of a tarantula caused tarantism which was supposed to be cured by wild dancing. Go and try if Sarasate's salon piece really has medicinal properties!
