Piano Quintet,String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Piano,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.945582 Composed by L. v. Beethoven. Arranged by Tony Matthews. Classical. Score and parts. 62 pages. Archway Publications #6331857. Published by Archway Publications (A0.945582). This Fantasia (or Fantasy) for piano, vocal soloists, chorus, and orchestra, Op. 80, was composed in 1808 by a 38 year old Beethoven. The Fantasia was hastily written to serve as the grand finale for a (personal) benefit concert on the 22nd December 1808 which included premiers of his 5th and 6th symphonies, the 4th Piano concerto and the Mass in C. Beethoven took the opportunity to use the forces available to make this comparatively short piece for piano, orchestra, and a choral finale where he, the soloist, could showoff just how good he was.Sadly, this work is seldom performed because who wants to hire a choir for just 2 minutes of music and an orchestra for not that much longer. This quintet version addresses this by allowing a much smaller ensemble to enjoy performing this utterly delightful work. The piano part is basically what Beethoven wrote, however it has been suitably modified in places to allow the piano to fit into the overall ensemble.

String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1279289 Composed by Thomas Tallis and Alan Edgar. Classical. 16 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #870783. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.1279289). String quartet or String Orchestra.  In this humble tribute to Ralph Vaughan Williams, I offer this Fantasia on another theme from Thomas Tallis's contribution in 1567 to Archbishop Parker's Psalter: his Seventh Tune for Psalm 52. My Fantasia tries to reflect David's feelings of disgust, anger and sadness, but also his calm confidence in God.Why do you boast of your evil deeds, you champion of malice? All day long you plot harm; your tongue is like a sharpened razor, you master of deceit. etc.Any similarities to RVW's piece are entirely deliberate. DURATION: 5-6 minutes.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912503 Composed by Thomas R. Schadl. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 49 pages. Thomas R. Schadl #5206103. Published by Thomas R. Schadl (A0.912503). Fantasia On TRSCH For String Orchestra is based on the composer’s initials (B flat, D, E flat, C B -but composed using E, G# A F# F), and explores various contrapuntal techniques that involve rhythmic diminution and augmentation, and inversion and retrograde motions. Further, the work shows how a thematic material varies in regard to articulation and phrasing; in other words, the main theme does not always use the same articulation throughout the piece. The tempo indications are suggestions and gives the performers and listeners an impression of energy building up at the beginning and slowing toward the end of the work. Fantasia On TRSCH For String Orchestra is suitable for both recital and educational purposes.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.742469 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Classical,Concert,Standards,World. Score. 6 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #4412113. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742469). The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the Moonlight Sonata, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi. The piece is one of Beethoven's most popular compositions for the piano, and it was a popular favorite even in his own day. Beethoven wrote the Moonlight Sonata in his early thirties, after he had finished with some commissioned work; there is no evidence that he was commissioned to write this sonata. The first edition of the score is headed Sonata quasi una fantasia, a title this work shares with its companion piece,Op. 27, No. 1. Grove Music Online translates the Italian title as sonata in the manner of a fantasy. The title could also be interpreted to imply ...as though improvised. The name Moonlight Sonata comes from remarks made by the German music critic and poet Ludwig Rellstab. In 1832, five years after Beethoven's death, Rellstab likened the effect of the first movement to that of moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne. Within ten years, the name Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was being used in German and English publications. Later in the nineteenth century, the sonata was universally known by that name. Many critics have objected to the subjective, romantic nature of the title Moonlight, which has at times been called a misleading approach to a movement with almost the character of a funeral march and absurd. Other critics have approved of the sobriquet, finding it evocative or in line with their own interpretation of the work. Gramophone founder Compton Mackenzie found the title harmless, remarking that it is silly for austere critics to work themselves up into a state of almost hysterical rage with poor Rellstab, and adding, what these austere critics fail to grasp is that unless the general public had responded to the suggestion of moonlight in this music Rellstab's remark would long ago have been forgotten. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796886 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Classical,Concert. 33 pages. Stephanie Daige #3514337. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796886). This Fantasia in D Minor, K. 397, really shows off Mozart's dramatic side.  My arrangement of this Fantasy, one of Mozart's most popular piano pieces, gives each instrument the opportunity to play a different character.  Fantasia in D Minor opens with somber arpeggios in the bassoon, and then goes to a pleading melody that goes back and forth between the flute and the oboe.  The tension builds up until the clarinet breaks out into a wild cadenza.  The pleading melodies and wild cadenzas go back and forth a few more times building tension until the final segment, which resolves with a bright, cheerful song-like melody in the horn.  Duration is approximately 6 minutes.I had a great time arranging this piece, and I hope you will enjoy playing it.  It presents some unique challenges and expressive opportunities, and it is a real crowd-pleaser.
