Welcome, My Angels is a slow, lush piece for treble voices incorporating modal harmonies and an increasingly growing ethereal piano part.The text, also written by Asia Meirovich is a personal interpretation of the Jewish Sabbath song, Shalom Aleichem. In the traditional song angels are welcomed into one’s home at the eve of the Sabbath, are asked for peace and a blessing and are blessed at their departure. There are four verses, each repeating twice.The English text keeps the form of the eight verses, each two coincide closely with the original Hebrew text. In this interpretation phrases come back in a different order, creating a new context and shedding a new light as the piece goes on.

The poet, Isiah Shipgl, wrote the haunting and dark text for his perished one year old daughter. The text describes leaving their burning home with baggage in hand in search for better luck, later feeling abandoned and hopeless in the abyss of the elements. The text has a strong correlation to today's families, also leaving their burning homes in search of better luck. Shpigl survived, but the composer, David Beyglman perished in 1944.
