Roses of the South (Rosë auf dem Süden) Op. 388 is a waltz medley composed by Johann Strauss Junior in 1880, made up of themes from his operetta, Das Spitzentuch der Königin. It was first performed at the regular Sunday concerts of the Strauss Orchestra in 1880 and is regularly performed at the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Concert. This arrangement for wind ensemble (2 flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns and optional harp and double bass) is ideal for the intermediate ensemble who want to add some Strauss into their repertoire. This download includes a score and a complete set of parts.
