Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1285700 By Stevie Wonder. By Henry Cosby, Stevie Wonder, and Sylvia Moy. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Latin,Pop,Singer/Songwriter,Soul. Score and Parts. 48 pages. John Ivor Holland #876795. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1285700). My Cherie Amour is a 1969 song by singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard pop chart in August to become Wonder's third Top Ten hit. Motown songwriters Henry Cosby and Sylvia Moy collaborated on the song with Wonder; Moy came up with the intriguing title, a combination of English and French in a manner reminiscent of the Beatles' Michelle which was a massive hit in 1966. The song entered British pop charts in late July 1970, and five weeks later it had again hit number 4. Portions of the song were sampled by British DJ Philip George for his single Wish You Were Mine which topped the UK Dance Chart in 2014, proving the enduring quality of this lovely song, arranged for concert band in a gentle cha-cha style with short solos for trumpet and flute.

The hurricane, however, did form near Africa which makes me consider it to be a cyclone. On August 27, 1900, Galveston, Texas would feel a punch that would knock down every single building. This piece represents that with swirling woodwinds, tornadic brass, and frightening percussion. In the center of the piece, there is a calm chorale to represent the eye of the storm. After that, it goes back to the evil cyclone themes.

This band transcription of Celebration Overture was composed for orchestra during August and September of 1995 in honor of WITF-FM’s 25th Anniversary. It was selected as the winning composition in WITF-FM’s Composition Competition from a field of over forty international entries and received its premiere by the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Richard Westerfield conducting on April 23, 1996. Subsequent performances have been given by the York Symphony Orchestra, the Reading Symphony Orchestra, and several university orchestras. During March 1997, the overture was recorded by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Paul Freeman for release as part of CD series entitled Paul Freeman Introduces on the Albany Label in 1998. This six minute overture alternates sections of fanfare-like figures with sections of playful rhythms and counterpoint. The overall form consists of two main sections that contrast each other and a middle section that serves as a development of previously stated material. The composition is an economical one as its material is derived primarily from the opening brass fanfare and the woodwind counter melody. The modal melodic and harmonic material is interwoven with polyrhythm, imitation, counterpoint, and timbral changes to create a composition reflective of the excitement of this celebration. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

As you can see, I started the melody from the first beat of the bar instead of the third. In this way all the phrases became thetic instead of anacrusic, gaining a greater simplification of reading. The melody of the Deutschlandlied (German national anthem) was originally composed by Joseph Haydn as the Austrian imperial anthem Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser and was first performed in 1797. (The lyrics of the Deutschlandlied were written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1841 on Heligoland.) In 1922 it became the national anthem of Germany. In March 1952, President Theodor Heuss declared the third stanza of the Deutschlandlied the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany.Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to stay updated on new releases.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414026 By Amy Winehouse. By Amy Winehouse, Nickolas Ashford, and Valerie Simpson. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,21st Century,Film/TV,Pop,Soul. 54 pages. John Ivor Holland #995789. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1414026). Tears Dry on Their Own is a song by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) from her second and final studio album, 'Back to Black' (2006). It was released on 13 August 2007 as the album's fourth single. While the melody and lyrics are composed by Winehouse, the music behind her voice is an interpolation of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's 1967 song Ain't No Mountain High Enough, penned by husband-and-wife song-writing team Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson. With a soul-Motown feel, this song became one of Winehouse's most popular and distinctive tracks and is featured in the documentary about her life 'Back to Black' and also in the 2024 motion picture, which shares the same title, starring Marisa Abela as Amy. Opening with a majestic flourish, this arrangement soon settles into the familiar sound of the recording, with added alto saxophone solo section at the end and a reflective close, featuring horn duet. A must for any summery-feel good concert and a great way to remember this fabulous performer, gone too soon.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Bassoon,Clarinet,Oboe - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1146901 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 11 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #747100. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1146901). This arrangement adapted for wind trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.
