Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.573391 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by edition by James Michael Stevens. Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Wedding,World. Score. 3 pages. James M Stevens Music ASCAP #5376947. Published by James M Stevens Music ASCAP (A0.573391). This is a new edition of Chopin's Prelude in E Minor, Opus 28, No. 4 that is not based on Chopin's original autograph copy, but based on certain performance practices of this great masterpiece. While maintaining the exact notes, there are differences in slurring, dynamics, and articulations. The lyrical melody is notated to represent the natural nuances of the singing voice. The recording was recorded by Stevens in April, 2020. James Michael Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN and serves as the Music Department Chairman of Welch College.

Cello,Double Bass,Flute,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1487805 Composed by Leopold Hofmann. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. 36 pages. Artaria Editions #1064743. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1487805). In the absence of both the autograph score and an authentic set of parts, this edition presents as faithfully as possible the intentions of the composer as transmitted in the source. As is often the case in Hofmann's chamber music there are very few dynamic markings; these are left to the discretion and good taste of the performer. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout, and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the present manuscript is inconsistent at times in its notation of appoggiature ; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Allan Badley.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972655 Composed by James Siddons. Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #4966309. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972655). This work for organ is based on the melody of the hymn What Can Wash Away My Sin?, known as Plainfield tune. It is suitable as a prelude or postlude for a worship service, and has directions for extended repeats during Communion services. It has been performed in dozens of services since 1991. The score for sale here is a facsimile of the composer's autograph manuscript. This work was included in the composer's piano solo album Reflections on Favorite Hymns (MGR-1578; 2001) in a performance combining an 1899 Steinway piano and a 1983 Kurzweil K250 synthesizer; that recording is heard in the audio track with this SMP score.

Speakers and piano or orchestra - difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q22787 12 Pieces from the Poem of Rainer Maria Rilke. Composed by Viktor Ullmann. This edition: vocal/piano score. Downloadable, Piano reduction. Duration 25 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q22787. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q22787). German.Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke obviously is the last work outlined by Viktor Ullmann in the concentration camp ofTheresienstadt. Other than with the two symphonies developing from the piano sonatas Nos. 5 and 7, Ullmann apparently thought of an orchestral melodrama first, it was only later that the note for recitant and orchestra or piano was added. This version of the work is known to be performed several times in Theresienstadt. Only the first piece had been orchestrated by Ullmann himself, but he had written down the essentials of the orchestration in the hardly decipherable manuscript in great detail. Ullmann chose 12 sections from the prose work by Rainer Maria Rilke, shortening the plot sensibly. Except for the elimination of some sentences which refer to the rose-petal episode and which are incomprehensible without the framework plot, the borrowed texts are unabridged. According to an instruction by Ullmann in the autograph, the text indicated above the staves is only roughly coincident with the music.3 (3. auch Picc.) · 2 · Engl. Clarinet (in A) and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6646 Composed by Johanna Senfter. This edition: Sheet music. Clarinet Library. Downloadable. Op. 57. Duration 18 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6646. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6646). Key: A major. The biography of the reserved and withdrawn composer Johanna Senfter is not characterized by any outstanding events or incidents. Born in Oppenheim on the Rhine on 27 November 1879, the composer chose to live on the Sparrhof, her family's estate, all her life until her death on 11 August 1961. Her amazing musicality already showed at an early age and was early recognized and actively encouraged by her parents. Max Reger repeatedly testified to his pupil's 'extraordinary compositional talent'. The works by Johanna Senfter are mainly influenced by Brahms and Reger, but she knew pretty soon how to further develop Reger's personal style individually in her own works without ever crossing the - widely drawn - boundaries of a harmony based on the functional theory. The time of creation of the Sonata for A clarinet (or viola) and piano Op. 57 can only be estimated: probably around 1925. There is only solid evidence of the place and date of the world premiere: Karlsruhe, 8 December 1932. This edition of the previously unprinted sonata is based on the composer's autograph kept at the library of the Cologne Academy of Music.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1473062 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Halloween,Historic. 36 pages. Jmsgu3 #1050683. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1473062). The Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565, is one of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous organ compositions. It follows a typical North German structure with three main sections - a free opening (Toccata), a fugal section (fugue), and a short free closing section. The exact date of composition is uncertain, but it's believed to have been written before 1708. There is no surviving autograph manuscript. The oldest known source is an undated copy by Johannes Ringk, a student of one of Bach's pupils. It was first published in 1833 through the efforts of composer Felix Mendelssohn during the early Bach Revival period. It gained widespread recognition after being featured in Disney's 1940 film Fantasia, where it was adapted for orchestra by Leopold Stokowski. The piece has become strongly associated with horror films and Gothic imagery in Western culture. The Toccata begins with dramatic flourishes and arpeggios, showcasing the organist's virtuosity. The fugue is characterized by overlapping repetitions of the central theme in different melodic lines. It employs simple triadic harmony but includes some unexpected elements, such as a C minor subject entry and a solo pedal statement.

Violin II - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6103 Weihnachtsmesse (liturgisch). Composed by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. This edition: separate part. Eulenburg Orchestral Series. Downloadable, Individual part. Duration 20 minutes. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q6103. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q6103). Latin.Of the 11 surviving settings of the Mass by Charpentier, the present work, the Messe de minuit, is without doubt one of the most popular. Although Charpentier's Parisian career is quite well documented, little is known about the genesis and first performance of the Messe de minuit. It is likely, however, that it was commissioned by the Jesuits of the church of Saint-Louis (today, Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis) for whom Charpentier had been working as maître de musique since 1687. The Messe de minuit belongs to the tradition of the parody-mass for which Charpentier adapted 10 noëls - whose titles are given in the autograph MS - to the text of the ordinary and the resulting music is fresh, charming and jubilant.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0015835_TB1 Tuba. Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Douglas E. Wagner. Classical. Part. 1 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0015835_TB1. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0015835_TB1). UPC: 038081452777.Based on the original opening of the original introduction for Second Suite in F for Military Band, Holst replaced this section with the now-familiar morris dance tune, Glory Shears. The 38-measure passage (crossed out in the autograph score) draws upon the English folk song, Young Reilly, and presents an alluring work in itself for younger players.
