Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.991994 Composed by Barry Michael Wehrli. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Wehrli Publications #3384807. Published by Wehrli Publications (A0.991994). Recording duration: 2:18. Recording excerpt begins at measure 10. Prelude 8, the meditative prelude, is the eighth of 15 works available in the Book of Preludes: 1-15 for Piano, a collection of character pieces by keyboardist, author, educator, and Wehrli Publications founder, Barry Michael Wehrli. These evocative preludes resemble the short, expressive pieces of Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy, but possess elements of later styles such as 20th century, new-age, jazz and more. Aside from their value as outstanding new performance repertoire, advanced students and professionals are discovering the pedagogical value of the Preludes as they make their way into state teaching organizations across the country such as CAPMT (California) and UMTA (Utah). Teachers often search for new and appealing serious music for their piano students. Yet such music is hard to find. The complete Book of Preludes offers nearly an hour of diverse music, each prelude creating its own unique sense of musical journey. All preludes contain damper and sostenuto pedal indications, bar numbers, suggested fingering, and tempo and dynamic marks reflecting the composer’s recorded performance. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.748652 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Mark Reeves. 20th Century,Film/TV,Wedding. Score. 2 pages. Mark Reeves #35043. Published by Mark Reeves (A0.748652). Erik Satie's Trois Gymnopedies sound so modern that it is hard to believe that they were written way back in 1888. Over the years many editions of these timeless piano gems have been published, yet very few are without inaccuracies and editorial/printing errors. For this new edition, however, the composer's original autographed manuscripts have been used as the initial source material, along with the very first printed editions published in 1888 and 1895. Errors in these first editions have been corrected and Satie's unconventional preference for distributing the notes of chords across both staves has been ignored in favour of grouping the notes together to facilitate chord recognition and performance.

Arranged by Arkady Leytush. Romantic Period, Impressionistic, Repertoire, European. 96 pages. Published by Arkady Leytush (S0.616185). Item Number: S0.616185 The composition of La Vega completed in 1897. It is interesting to note that Albeniz almost completely abandoned the composition of piano works after La Vega, although his fame was mainly focused on the works for this instrument. Although La Vega was planned as part of a cycle of melodies written on poems by his patron Money-Coutts and was therefore used as an independent piece of an orchestra suite, this work was originally composed for piano. According to the autographed dating found on the last page of the manuscript, Albeniz finished La Vega at first on January 26, 1897 in Auteuil, in a Paris neighborhood. In the course of the following weeks, decided to make profound changes. He deleted the last five pages of the Vega, added six at the beginning and composed a different ending of seven more pages. This revision ended in Paris on February 14, 1897, and Albeniz wrote down on the last page: La Alhambra, symphonic suite on poems by F. B. Money-Coutts: nº 1: La Vega. La Vega is an evocation of the Granada plains on the edge of the city, a musical reflection, as the composer put it, contemplated from the Alhambra Palace. Claude Debussy, on hearing Albeniz play the piece, enthusiastically told him of his wish to immediately go and discover Granada.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488844 Composed by Ferdinand Ries. Arranged by Uwe Grodd. Classical. Score and part. 29 pages. Artaria Editions #1065698. String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890766 Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Sneakwood Editions. Baroque,Classical. Score and parts. 34 pages. Sneakwood Editions #4781033. Published by Sneakwood Editions (A0.890766). Vivaldi’s violin concerto in D major, RV 208, survives in three manuscripts:Vivaldi’s autograph score, conserved in Turin. [This edition is based on this source]A copy of the parts, conserved in the Landesbibliothek Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Günther Uecker [de] in Schwerin.Another copy of the parts conserved in Cividale del Friuli. The Grosso Mogul title appears on the Schwerin manuscript, which was written before 1717. According to Michael Talbot, the name of the concerto can possibly be linked to Domenico Lalli’s Il gran Mogol opera libretto, a setting of which had been presented in Naples in 1713. Later settings of this libretto include Giovanni Porta’s, staged in Venice in 1717, and Vivaldi’s RV 697 (1730).The Schwerin and Cividale del Friuli copies of the concerto contain two variants of extended cadenzas for unaccompanied violin, in the first and last movements of the concerto. The autograph version indicates where such cadenzas can be inserted in these movements, but does not contain the cadenzas. A manuscript with the written-out cadenzas must have been circulating before c. 1713–1714 when Bach transcribed such version for solo organ (BWV 594).An earlier version of the concerto, RV 208a, was probably composed by c. 1712–1713. This version has a different middle movement than the RV 208 version.Vivaldi seems to have had no supervision over the Op. 7 collection, published around 1720 in Amsterdam by the Roger firm, in which the older RV 208a version of the concerto was retained. This version of the concerto does not contain the extended cadenzas, nor an indication where such cadenzas could be inserted. String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488232 Composed by William Shield. Arranged by Robert Hoskins. Classical. 36 pages. Artaria Editions #1065119. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488232). Shield's Trios, written for a continental audience, are seminal works in the composer's output and mark a new level of compositional attainment in the English chamber music repertory. Technically, they contain a wide variety of ideas which are developed with great ingenuity through a wide range of keys, dynamic contrasts and timbral effects. Aesthetically, they blend 'popular' and 'learned' taste along with 'orchestral' splendour and 18th century notions of beauty. The Trios present a dazzling range of moods and style with each work demonstrating Shield's mastery of the idiom, both in his treatment of individual instruments and in the handling of textures. While there is no shortage of melody and accompaniment, in which the violin takes the lead, there are many memorable solos for the viola and the cello in its high register. The wide range of textures includes melodic decoration, dialogue, contrast of high and low register, legato and staccato, powerful unison and double octaves. Shield's ability to incorporate arioso-like melody, the prevailing 'symphonic' style and folk elements was largely achieved through the cross-generic requirements of English comic opera (a form to which Shield devoted himself during the whole of his creative career). In general, Shield's technique results in a firm control of the way music moves - with sometimes a surprising degree of stylistic restlessness and sometimes of unexpected plainness and simplicity. The trios Shield selected for publication were issued by Longman and Broderip, London, in January 1796 under the inspection of the composer. No autograph of these works survives and Longman and Broderip's printing, a copy of which is preserved in the Bodleian Library, Oxford, under the call number Mus.Instr.I 214(15), is the only source of this edition.
