String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1436597 Composed by Fidelis Zitterbart. Arranged by Marc Linwood. 19th Century,20th Century,Classical,Halloween,Thriller. 25 pages. R?sFacta Editions #1016711. Published by R?sFacta Editions (A0.1436597). American composer, Fidelis Zitterbart’s Suite Fantastique in E Minor: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, inspired by Washington Irving's short story, was originally composed for a chamber ensemble of two violins, viola, flute, and piano.  The final movement of the work, The Headless Rider, depicts the spectral figure who roams the night on horseback, searching for something lost and seeking revenge.  The music conveys a sense of urgency and intensity, as if the Headless Rider is on a relentless quest through the darkness.  This arrangement for string orchestra features a driving ostinato figure by the violas, making it an ideal selection for an orchestra with a strong viola section for a Halloween-themed concert.  Score and Parts.  Duration: Approx. 4 minutes.

Fiona Alice Hickie #3468608. Published by Fiona Alice Hickie (A0.737931). This piece is a tribute to the many naval explorers and their crews that sailed in the stormy, 'Storm Bay ' seas.History and Inspiration: Storm Bay Shanty Storm Bay is the opening of the river leading to Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city. It was named by Abel Tasman on the  30th November 1642, when a storm forced his ship out to sea before he could anchor there. He did return there  in later days. Throughout its history it has seen indigenous people in their canoes and famous explorers such as  Abel Tasman, Marc-Joseph Marion du Fresne  , Bruni d'Entrecasteaux, William Bligh, Matthew Flinders, James Kelly  and James Cook sail its waves. In colonial times whalers could also be seen trying to make their fortune. In more  recent times local sailors, including those in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race try and win over one of nature’s  more challenging waterways. This piece is a tribute to them, and the songs that would have been sung by sailors in the bygone era.
