This book is for two bass trombones, tubas, euphoniums, cellos, bassoons, or any mix of these as range would allow.  The titles in this publication are arranged in order of difficulty, so that the musician or teacher may begin with the less difficult titles in the front and work through the book. This publication was compiled with sight-reading and stylistic study in mind, yet many of these works are worthy of performance. The level of difficulty ranges from Grade .5 - 3.5.  These duets are published in three different editions: for two tenor trombones; one tenor and one bass trombone; and two bass trombones. It may also be successfully used with any combinations of trombone, euphonium, bassoon, cello, or tubas as range allows. Work in one edition may not be compatible with works in the others, due to range considerations.  This quality work is published by Eric Burger Music. It is in A-B-A format with the B section being a bit more relaxed. The work has lots of rhythmic and tonal contrasts and gives a very good work out for the performers' slides as well, as per the title. The music is about 6 minutes in length, all in bass clef and is appropriate for advanced performers. SlideShow was written for Jon Bohls and the SlideShow Trombone Choir of Dallas, Texas.

Va, pensiero, also known as the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves is from the opera Nabucco written in 1842 and has one of the mostly recognizable melodies in the Classical repertoire. It recollects the period of Babylonian captivity after the loss of the First Temple in Jerusalem and was inspired by Psalm 137. Some scholars have thought that the chorus was intended to be an anthem for Italian patriots trying to unify their country. (Wikipedia) David Fetter has beautifully arranged this powerful work for 6-part Trombone Ensemble and Organ (the organ adds immense depth to the sound) for intermediate performers (all in bass clef, very moderate range).

It was written for a local German fireman's choir by one of his parish's singers who's profession was as a firefighter. The work languished for years but was discovered by a touring American choir who brought it back to the USA and recorded it. It became an instant hit. The music has a heavenly feel to it and one is uplifted by its sheer beauty. This 7-minute arrangement by Robert Kalwas is for 8-part Trombone ensemble and of moderate difficulty. All parts are in bass clef and the ranges are not extreme at all. Ave Maria is featured on YouTube® as a Virtual Choir International Multitrack for a Children's Charity in South Africa. Cherry Classics is pleased to have approval for this arrangement from the estate of Franz Biebl.

In the style of Gabrieli, this work uses the Renaissance style in a contemporary setting to great effect. The music is perfect for intermediate to advanced intermediate performers and is all in bass clef.

It is about 6 minutes in length and probably used as music for the theatre. The Chancony or Chaconne has been arranged for 8-part Trombone Ensemble in two choirs by Ralph Sauer for moderately advanced performers. The work uses a repeated ground bass line in 3/4 meter and could have easily been called a Passacaglia by the composer.

Jim Hopson's Futility in Seven Positions for Trombone Ensemble and Narrator is a pithy work of about 4 minutes for advanced performers. It is comprised of four movements: 1. Way of the Blade, a Presto movement with lots of glisses that runs headlong into a quote from the Tommy Dorsey signature melody. 2. Book Learnin' a sarcastic rant on the rigidity of school homework. 3. Courting Disaster a great joke told by the narrator over a rhythmic bass line. 4. Disco featuring the Tuba Mirum solo over a groovin' Disco line. All the above is just fun and games tongue firmly planted in cheek including a final gasp quoting Ravel's Bolero.
