Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589088 Composed by David McKeown. Concert,Latin,Standards,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. David McKeown #5744005. Published by David McKeown (A0.589088). Merengue de Merlín is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Trombone. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Merengue that emerged in the Dominican Republic during the Nineteenth Century. Merengue Tipico bands maintain the traditional instrumentation of the double-headed tambora drum, güira, accordion and vocal, while urban bands in the North American diaspora often add saxophone, bass and other percussion. The Merengue dance became hugely popular in the 1950s and new forms continue to draw audiences around the world. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The steady quintilla tambora rhythm is present throughout, and following the precise articulation in the score will help convey the style. The main challenge is the fast tempo and melodies should be clearly articulated. Merengue de Merlín has a performance time of around two and a half minutes at full tempo. You can listen to a full performance the Alto Saxophone version of this duet by following the YouTube link above. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792690 Composed by Armand Russell. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and part. 12 pages. Gordon Cherry #5760077. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792690). Armand Russell's Perplexing and Perilous Pieces for Trombone and Piano is in two contrasting movements. The first movement Perplexing Prelude is slow, sad, gloomy, worried and moody. The second movement Perilous Pursuit is fast with many different 4-note Bartokian modal-like scales and quite playful in mood. It gets going faster and faster, finally slowing right down and becoming quiet at the end like an exhausted child, but giving one surprise last gasp of a Hoorah to conclude. This work of a bit over 5 minutes in length is appropriate for intermediate performers and is all in bass clef.

B-Flat Trumpet,Instrumental Duet,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125403 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 6 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #726187. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1125403). This easy arrangement for trumpet and trombone duet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.726102 Composed by Plainchant melody. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Advent,Christian,Sacred. Score and part. 10 pages. Con Spirito Music #6092177. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.726102). “O Come, O Come Emmanuel†are the opening words of John Mason Neale’s (1818-1866) translation of the Medieval text, “Veni, Emmanuel,†with music arranged by Thomas Helmore (1811-1890), for The Hymnal Noted (London, 1856). The text of this most famous of Advent hymns is taken from various “‘O’ Antiphons,†verses sung or recited before and after the Magnificat during the evening Vespers service in the last week of Advent. Each antiphon is a name of Christ, and together they echo the foretelling of the long-expected Messiah by the prophet Isaiah. The origin of the music is uncertain. Some claim it to be from a 15th-century French processionale (hymnal, liturgical manual) for Franciscan nuns; others believe it to be of earlier, eighth-century Gregorian plainsong origins. This arrangement features both traditional and contemporary harmonies and a meditative original introduction prior to the opening presentation of the melody by trombone, which is echoed in countermelodies in later presentations.Includes both bass clef and Bb treble clef solo parts.©Copyright 2020 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP).
