String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1262910 Composed by Nan-Pa Hong. Arranged by Han-Ki Kim. Chamber,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 33 pages. Han-Ki Kim #855907. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.1262910). For Solo Violin and String Orchestra. Spring of Home Country Op.159 Violin Concerto “Spring in Home Country†can be said to be a variational concerto in a word. It is a concerto composed with the theme of the melody of Nan-pa Hong, who played an important role in spreading Western music in Korea. Children’s song “Spring in Hometown†was composed in 1929 and is a familiar melody to all Koreans, young and old. The content of the poem is about the beautiful and nostalgic nostalgia of the village where he lived as a child. Following the lively ensemble in 4/4 time, a solo violin that seems to read a poem plays the theme, followed by the first variation composed of a splendid broken chord. Variations 2 and 3 are played by soloists and ensembles, crossing the traditional Korean rhythms “Jajinmori†and “Kutkoriâ€. In Variation 4, the slowly expanded theme is played by the ensemble with a consoldino (played using a muted instrument), and the solo violin adorns the theme of the ensemble with up and down notes. Then, the solo violin’s cadenza, the final variation of a majestic personality, and a short coda decorate the end.

Harpsichord,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488837 Composed by Joseph Martin Kraus. Arranged by Bertil van Boer. Classical. 27 pages. Artaria Editions #1065691. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488837). Artaria Editions AE432Joseph Martin Kraus was one of the most gifted and unusual composers of the 18th century, whose talent for thematic development, colourful orchestration and theatrical flair caused Haydn to proclaim him one of only two 'geniuses' he knew (Mozart being the other one). Although Kraus's focus as a composer was mainly upon works written for the stage, he had occasion and opportunity to write a variety of works for chamber setting, including four sonatas for violin and fortepiano, and this work in D minor, was written in 1777 expressly for violin and clavicembalo, representing a different sort of piece than the more common duo sonata. It is not known for whom the work was written, but the extensive virtuosity makes it likely that it was intended either for Kraus himself or his brother Franz (1760-1790), an exceptional talent on the violin. The two-movement format is similar to Kraus's early string quartets (VB 178; Artaria Editions AE418), though in this case, the extensive sonata form first movement is followed by a through-composed one consisting of a slow pastorale (replete with bass drone in the violin) and an exotic faster section that includes material from the first movement. What makes this work interesting is the use of scordatura; the G string is to be tuned down to F, which makes it more useful from a harmonic standpoint in that the note can be used in the tonic, relative major, and all dominant-subdominant keys. The Basso part is completely figured—for this edition it has been realized by the editor - but given that Kraus specifically mentions only the keyboard instrument (clavicembalo), it is unlikely that it was performed as a continuo, i.e. with additional violoncello/contrabass, but rather was intended for harpsichord alone.Allan Badley.

Small Ensemble Cello Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596449 Composed by Daniel Hay. Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 1 pages. Daniel Hay Music #5809103. Published by Daniel Hay Music (A0.596449). Composer Daniel Hay wrote this piece in honor of the efforts of Oprah Winfrey in building schools for girls in Africa. Twice Mr. Hay sent notice to the staff of Oprah yet never received acknowledgment from them. The attached audio file is voiced by the computer as a cello. The attached YouTube link is a practice session by the composer outside his hand-built cabin in the mountains of Washington state where he lived for three years. It is played on a Ganassi style Alto-in-G recorder handcrafted by Bodil Diesen of Norway. Please note that due to brain damage the composer is no longer able to differentiate fingering and notes to play instruments in their correct pitch ranges, so this is played on a G-pitched instrument but music is read as C fingered (Soprano and Tenor). As solo music it makes no difference but an Alto player will probably notice the pitches don't match the fingerings they are seeing. The sound file is voiced in piano. Cello, Bassoon or other bass clef instruments are appropriate.

Cello Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596447 Composed by Daniel Hay. Celtic,Classical,Contemporary,Irish,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 1 pages. Daniel Hay Music #5808911. Published by Daniel Hay Music (A0.596447). This composition was named for a gamer friend of the composer, Daniel Hay, and for her name-sake, Sorcha Lawhir, who was probably fictional by author Traci Harding who's character Cadfer raped Sorcha Lawhir. Sorcha then killed herself rather than live with the consequences. The composer reports that the first time he heard of the story he was told it was historical and that Sorcha Lawhir was raped by the brother of her husband from which she leapt from the castle walls. Whether historcial or fictional the very concept of rape is abhorent and this piece is dedicated to the soul of Sorcha Lawhir. The sound file is voiced as Cello. This pieces is wonderful for Cello or Bassoon or other bass clef instruments.

String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1200264 By Han-Ki Kim. By Traditional. Arranged by Han-Ki Kim. Chamber,Classical,Instructional,Standards,Traditional. 26 pages. Han-Ki Kim #799067. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.1200264). Arirang for Violin, Cello and String Orchestra “Arirang†is a representative folk song of Korea and a famous song widely known around the world. This concerto was composed to give value as an artistic literature to such a familiar theme. In this concerto “Arirangâ€, I want both the performers and the audience to feel “musical sympathyâ€.Following the short and fast introduction in 3/4 time, it is connected in the form of 5 variations in 6/8 time. Each variation expresses a different musical atmosphere, performance speed, or change in composition. In general, the main melody is mainly played by the first violin, but as far as the main melody is concerned, in this music, high-pitched instruments and low-pitched instruments intersect and cycle in equal positions, not in a melodicline relationship. After the fourth variation, a virtuosic solo of the movement alone is connected, and after the finale with a broad and majestic atmosphere, it ends with a short and lively coda with the same character as the beginning. Attached file is played by S.Orchestra just for a reference.

Cello,Double Bass,Keyboard Accompaniment,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1291493 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,Wedding. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #882131. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1291493). Canon (Bb) - Johann Pachelbel - String Trio (1 Violin, 1 Violoncello, 1 Double Bass), Keyboard - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon is perhaps the most famous canon ever written. A canon is a polyphonic device is which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon was originally scored for three Violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo playing an ostinato, repeating the same harmonic progression throughout the entire composition.Regis Bookshar has now arranged this composition for a String Trio, consisting of 1 Violin, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass which play the melody in canon and a Keyboard instrument, either a Piano or Organ, which plays the ostinato pattern. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, especially for weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages).Pachelbel's Canon was originally written in the key of D major but this version has been transposed to the key of Bb Major, making it a little easier for some younger performers, especially brass and woodwind players. Another version, in the original key of D Major, is also available, if you would prefer. String players may prefer to play that version. Also available are other versions of this well-known Canon for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to compare the different versions to find the version (or versions) which best suit your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's delightful Canon will continue to entertain both perofrmers and audiences alike for years to come.

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.861931 Composed by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 46 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #6208107. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861931). The American Seasons (violas part – violin and string orchestra) MO148FViolas Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor42 pages - 38:00 minutes in length The American Seasons(Seasons Of An American Life)The American Seasons (Seasons Of An American Life) is a concerto for Violin And Chamber Orchestra. Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1999 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCommissioned by the Troy Savings Bank Concert Hall for their 2000 Celebration Can be heard on American Seasons Sony Classical and The Essential Mark O’Connor Sony ClassicalMark O’Connor - violin, Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, Scott Yoo Catalogue Number MO148FCopyright © 1999 by Mark O’Connor Music International For more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:

Piano,Viola - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.511793 Composed by Korean Traditional. Arranged by Han-Ki Kim. Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and part. 12 pages. Han-Ki Kim #6245735. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.511793). Folk songs can be said to be music that contains the life and soul of our ancestors, and these days, when the desire to find our own is strong, the folk song “Blue Bird†has a very important meaning in that it is unique to Korea. Along with Arirang, the representative folk song of Korea, “Bird, Bird, Blue Bird†is also unique to us, and it is music that contains the life and soul of our ancestors, and it is a precious legacy that should be passed down to future generations. The vague themes are gradually heightened and repeated. Then, the theme is played alternately with the compositional change of the descending perfect 5th sphere for each part. Then, a short connector appears following the harmonics, which gives off an oriental taste. The bass and treble sections play the theme and melody alternately, and in the finale, a majestic harmony and tense notes show a musical uplift, ending with a witty and decisive note processing.1. It’s very suitable for Concert and for Educational material.2. Shown Bowing sign and Fingering will be very helpful to player.3. Attached Music file is recorded with Violin and Piano, just for a reference.
