Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808676 Composed by Scott Joplin (1868–1917). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 20th Century,Film/TV,Folk,Holiday,Love,Ragtime. Score and parts. 20 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #3213035. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808676).     Marvin Hamlisch’s score for the 1973 movie The Sting revived interest in ragtime music. Ragtime, of course, is music, often in march-time, that features syncopation, a ragged beat. It originated in African-American districts of large cities and first flourished during the period, 1895-1918. One of the most successful ragtime composers was Scott Joplin, known as the King of Ragtime. Hamlisch used several Joplin compositions as background music for the George Roy Hill-directed film, and one of those was this beautiful and contemplative 1909 composition, Solace: A Mexican Serenade.     In All Music Guide to Classical Music: The Definitive Guide to Classical Music (Woodstra et al., ed., CMP Books: 2005), Blair Johnston called Solace a musical hybrid neither authentically Mexican nor authentic ragtime. It is, instead, a habanera, but also a very lovely piece of Americana.    This brass quintet arrangement of Solace was adapted from the Joplin piano score. Like the score, this arrangement is in 2/4 time and contains a lot of 16th notes. Joplin’s tempo instruction, however, is Very slow march time, and the metronome marking suggests 96 eighth notes a minute, so in reality the actual tempo is an andante 4/8. Trumpet 1 has some B-above-the-staff notes in the last section, Trumpet 2 has a few interesting rhythmic figures in section B; Trombone has 3 or 4 F-above-the-staff notes, and Tuba plays a couple of top-of-the-staff A’s in section D and at the very end. Plus, of course, the piece is syncopated.    Completed in 2017, this arrangement runs about 6 minutes, 10 seconds. Contact the arranger, Les Smith, at lessmith@ufl.edu; he would be delighted to hear from you. Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1458319 By Bobby McFerrin. By Bobby McFerrin. Arranged by Homco/Crinion. Contemporary,Pop,Reggae. 7 pages. Homco/Crinion #1037301. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1458319). At the 1989 Grammy Awards, this song won Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The expression don't worry, be happy is a formula for facing life's trials. Bobby McFerrin was inspired by the charm and simplicity of this motto and turned it into a toe-tapping smash hit. The original is actually an a cappella song - as the instruments in the recording are just overdubbed voice parts and sounds made by McFerrin! This String Duo Arrangement sets the whistling melody in the violin part, while the cello carries the snappy rhythms and the punctuated bass beat. It's a crowd-pleaser for sure!

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465668 Composed by John Winston Lennon and Paul James Mccartney. Arranged by Will Corbin. Pop. 12 pages. Will Corbin #1044281. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1465668). This 1967 Beatles hit carries the familiar Lennon/McCartney credit line, but it was Paul all the way. He wrote it years before there were Beatles; it may have been his first composition, from around 1956. It was on the Beatles' early set lists for emergency use (like if the power went out) but became at serious hit after it appeared on the Sgt. Pepper album. If you need other instrumentatipn (the recording used clarinets), I'm happy to help. Contact me at wilcor@aol.com.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1273254 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Pop. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #865399. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1273254). Arranged wind quintet: fl, ob, clt, hn and bsnIn My Life is a song by the English rock band the Beatles. It appeared on their 1965 album Rubber Soul. Its lyrics were written primarily by John Lennon, credited to Lennon–McCartney. George Martin contributed the  solo bridge passage. The song was recorded on 18 October 1965, and was complete except for the instrumental bridge. At that time, Lennon had not decided what instrument to use, but he subsequently asked George Martin to play a piano solo, suggesting something Baroque-sounding. Martin wrote a Bach-influenced piece that he found he could not play at the song's tempo. On 22 October, the solo was recorded with the tape running at half speed, so when played back at normal pace the piano was twice as fast and an octave higher, solving the performance challenge and also giving the solo a unique timbre, reminiscent of a harpsichord.According to Lennon, In My Life was his first real major piece of work because it was the first time he wrote about his own life.In 2000, Mojo named In My Life the best song of all time. Rolling Stone ranked it number 23 on its 2004 list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and number 98 on the 2021 revised list, as well as fifth on its list of the Beatles' 100 Greatest Songs.i have given 1st verse to oboe, and the 2nd verse to the clarinet. The mp3 excerpt is the end of the clarinet verse going into the bridge.

Published by from68 (A0.1300492). This song is from the Beatles' 12th album, Abbey Road, released in 1969! Although it is credited to Lennon-McCartney, John Lennon practically wrote this song. It is a funky and groovy song that does not sound like the Beatles. It was one of John's favorites and was always played live even after he went solo. Perfect for the band's repertoire and for session material!PDF 10P  840 KBVOCAL, GUITAR(TAB), BASS(TAB), KEYBOARD, DRUMS Guitar notation legend Download
