Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755037 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. Sy Brandon #3244325. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755037). The Zortziko is a fast dance with five beats per measure with frequent dotted rhythms. The Flamenco is a dance in minor that disguises its modality by vacillating between the normal and lowered second degree of the scale and the normal and raised third degree of the scale. It has a narrow range, absence of strict meter, expressive ornamentation, short phrases, melancholy mood, and often begins with ay. The Malaguena is an emotional song using an ostinato of VIII, VII, VI, V in minor with an improvised melody. The Polo is moderate dance with three beats per measure with hemiola rhythms. It also contains rapid colorations and uses the words ay and ole. Both players play from the score.

Full Orchestra - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1365197 By Alicia Domínguez Arcos Sonay. By Alicia Domínguez Arcos. Arranged by Alicia Domínguez Arcos. Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Multicultural,Traditional,World. 82 pages. Alicia Dominguez #949514. Published by Alicia Dominguez (A0.1365197). The charm lies in the fact that complete silence does not occur, where there is an audience you can hear the ambient sound: The sum of the breaths, the small movements, coughs... The sound qualities of the air itself and the reverberation of the room. The spectator suddenly discovers that the piece of music is composed of the sounds that surround him and of which he is not usually aware, including his own breathing, the beating of his heart or even the plaintive sound of his own shoes. In society, noise, as in this case, sound in music is present in our daily lives, forgetting to appreciate and the importance of silence. Silence does not have to give a feeling of fear. Appreciate silence, giving it that perception of inner peace and balance, equally linked to perseverance, that perseverance that occurs with music, with its constancy and persistence making it flow. Thus, just as each musical figure has its corresponding silence representing its same value and duration. Although the painter Pablo Picasso said that you have to learn the rules like a professional to be able to break them like an artist, reaffirming what Don Blas Infante, father of the Andalusian homeland (Spain), said: any paper on the ground must always be read , since any role can be important. Music scores and the time spent making them do not take the degree of value in human beings of this century. When they own it for themselves.https://youtu.be/GvEx1Bn2HS8?si=IW1ZUw1yFcJzz0uf

Oboe, basson, violin, viola, double bass - Digital Download SKU: IZ.BCMW164 Composed by Chun-Wai Wong. BCMCC (Bassoon Chamber Music Composition Competition). Score and Parts. 77 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #BCMW164. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.BCMW164). 9 x 12 in inches. What is life for? Wealth? Power? Happiness? Are you really feeling happy with your pursuits? Or would you just go ontirelessly? Do you really feel happy when chasing after those things? And what will you get by the end of your life?I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. (Ecclesiastes 1:14)The piece is inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes from the Bible. Musically, it is inspired by a traditional Japanese theatricalperformance Kabuki. It is purely musical theatre: the piece unfolds with the wheezing of hollowness of work and life, andit is followed by a wild dance of chase -- a chase after fame and fortune in hopes of getting rid of the depression. Yet, thestruggle only brings fleeting pleasure and pressing anxiety to chase after another goal. Feeling exhausted, one realizes thatwhat one has done are all meaningless: the hollowness never goes away. Only after a hoarse cry does one start to realize themeaning of life, a meaning that transcends all materialistic goals; and only after understanding the reason to live can one take abreath of life. There are references to traditional Japanese instrumental writings, including the sound of Shamisen imitated by pizzicato instrings, drum imitated by pizzicato chords and beating of strings on fingerboard, Japanese flute imitated by the high oboe. Theshifting focus between different musical layers represents the movement of the imaginary dancer who moves forward andbackward on the stage unceasingly.ABreath of Life was commissioned by the Hong Kong Composers' Guild.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.846529 Composed by Maria Thompson Corley. Concert,Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #5803441. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.846529). The title alludes to the classic Joni Mitchell song, however, this is a piece of classical music. The poem refers to the burning of Notre Dame, then the inevitable physical decline inherent in aging, then the unexpected crumbling of our democratic institutions. The original melodic material echoes the fragments taken from the two masters of the Notre Dame school of organum, however, the dissonant, challenging piano accompaniment deconstructs them. The middle section is wistful and less dissonant, followed by a return to the earlier musical material. The piece ends with the quote from Perotin with which it begins, the vowel O, however, at the end it is a moan of regret. Words and music by Maria Thompson Corley, incorporating Leonin's Haec Dies and Perotin's Beata Viscera.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999166 Composed by C. G. Davin Leonardo. A Cappella,Baroque,Christmas,Contemporary,Renaissance,Sacred. Octavo. 16 pages. C. G. Davin Leonardo #5991577. Published by C. G. Davin Leonardo (A0.999166). Runner-up of SMP Press Composition Competition 2020 - Contemporary Choral Music CategoryThis entry is my choral composition on Latin Text O magnum mysterium. It contains three movements:1. O magnum - consists of the first stanza of the text, with Renaissance-like hymn style (SSATBB) (00:00).2. Beata Virgo - consists of the second stanza of the text, sung by the soloist (SATB Solo) (02:12).3. Fuga - Alleluia - consists of the final 'Alleluia' exclamation of the text. This part is a fugal composition with a Baroque-like style (SATB) (04:06).This composition reflects the mystery of the Incarnation of the Lord (first movement), the joy of Mother Mary after giving birth to the Lord while remembering the words of St. Elizabeth (second movement), and the exclamation of the faithful singing Alleluia continuously (third movement). This composition is accessible and suitable for student, school, or university choir, especially for Christmas Concert or Christmas Recital. But this composition is not ideal to be used in Mass since it has not received Nihil Obstat from any diocese.Audiomack: https://audiomack.com/cgdlEmail: https://davinleonardo.me/contact.htmlInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/cg_davin/Website: https://davinleonardo.me/

Program note: My love affair with the city of Rome dates back to the year 1986-87 when I spent just under eleven months at the American Academy in Rome on a Rome Prize Fellowship. During that Fellowship year I was very much inspired by the beauty and culture of the Eternal City, which resulted in a number of works that continue to resonate with me: Twenty-nine Fireflies Book II for solo piano; Concertino for trumpet, timpani and strings; Apples … six dreams by Richard Kenney; String Quartet No 5 … Four Birthdays; and Chôrinhos … opus 38. Since 1997 my wife, Kristin Beckwith, and I have returned to the American Academy in Rome almost every year. I would compose in the morning and then my wife and I would go to our usual haunt at Bar G. for cappuccini and cornetti. And then we’d go to the local bakery and street markets and buy stuff for lunch. In the afternoon we would wander into the city to go shopping and sight-seeing. In the evenings we would dine at one of our favorite local trattorias. Life could not be better in Rome. Musically speaking, several important works in my portfolio had their beginnings during these sojourns at the Academy , among them Yo Picasso, Flauta Carioca, Mass for the Holy Year 2000, Symphony No. 5 … Utopia Parkway, Twenty-nine Fireflies Books IV & V, and Piano Concerto … Mozartiana. Just before the 2008 recession, clarinetist extraordinaire Jonathan Cohler asked me to write a symphony for the inaugural concert of a new orchestra he was planning to create. I came up with Symphony No. 7 … Roman Holidays, my give back to the city of Rome – a compendium of favorite places that continue to live in my thoughts and musings. Although the work is heard in four movements, it is actually divided into seven sections, as in the seven hills of Rome. 1. Prelude: Fontana Paola and the panoramic view of the city of Rome from that vantage point. 2. First interlude: La Befana festivities at Piazza Navona. The Protestant Cemetery in Testaccio at night under a full moon. 3. Second interlude: Fontana delle Tartughe in the Jewish Ghetto. Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne at the Galleria Borghese. 4. Third interlude: Bernini’s Beata Ludovica Albertoni in Trastevere. The Spanish Steps and the view of Rome from the French Academy at Villa Medici. NB: Unfortunately, thanks to the recession, Roman Holidays never saw the light of day. This year (2013) I decided to revisit the work, which lay dormant for 5 five years, and saw that it could use a little tweaking. The new version is essentially the same, musically speaking. I reduced the orchestration a bit (two horns instead of four, and two trumpets instead of three) and added more heft to the lower brass. I completely rewrote the tune for the floating foreign ghosts at the Protestant Cemetery. I also shortened the work by about three minutes by cutting some repeats. Enjoy!!!Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/symphony-no-7-roman-holidays-2008-rev-2013Video link: https://youtu.be/1DlzEOUmH54

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869525 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 78 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #3112103. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869525). Instrumentation: 2222-2200-timp-stringsSteve Laven, cellist with the Boston Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, contacted me a month ago and asked if I would be interested in writing a work to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. I said, Sure!!! He said it would be nice if I would consider a concerto grosso in which the principal players of the orchestra would each get a feature. I agreed that that would be a fine idea. So, on June 18th, 2017, I started working on it. And since I am on summer vacation from teaching I was able to finished the 557-measure work on July 2nd, fifteen days after I started.  In 2018 just before I made plans to get the work recorded I made some revisions. One major change was that I cut the fourth movement out completely. It is now a mere 482 measures long. The work is now in three movements.  1. Introduction; Allegro 2. Presto 3. Largo Duration: ca. 17 minutes.YouTube link: https://youtu.be/xIMSFEd0p8oBandcamp link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/concerto-grosso-2017PS: This is the sixth work that the PACO has performed of my music.  1. Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158398 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Historic,Patriotic. 18 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758679. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158398). Composed to commemorate the 20th year of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. This somber, gorgeous piece of music draws tears when presented correctly, and is an extraordinarily important contribution to the brass quintet repertoire. The Jewish “feast†(or “appointed timeâ€) of trumpets, as outlined in Leviticus 23:24-25, prescribes the observance: “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.†According to the Jewish calendar, the feast of trumpets in 2001 coincided exactly with the 9-11 attacks, which could indeed be thought of as “an offering made by fire.†Effectively no servile work was done on that day throughout the attacked nation, and it has indeed become a somber type of “sabbath†to observe every year. It seemed extraordinarily appropriate—perhaps even requisite—that a somber composition with trumpets be composed for the 20th annual observance of the horrific attacks on American soil, as a “Memorial†to those lost that day, and those who since perished in the Global War on Terror. “Where were you when you first heard about the 9-11 attacks?†This common question is posed to those who were of age to comprehend what had happened in 2001. Personally, I had just listened to an emotional rendition of Maurice Ravel’s “Pavane to a Dead Princess.†Elements of that musical memory influenced this present work “Memorial.†Other sources of inspiration—whether intended or subconscious—include Samuel Barber’s heart-wrenching “Adagio for Strings,†Michael Kamen’s “Quintet†for brass, and John Williams’ “Hymn to the Fallen.†The harmonies are thick and often dissonant, including many suspensions. The players get little rest, symbolic of the constant state of alertness of a shocked nation after being so brutally attacked. Perhaps of greatest symbolic import is the fact that there are exactly 911 notes in this composition. Because of this, it is crucial that the percussion part be performed, and that great care be taken by all performers to refrain from altering the notes or rhythms in any way. A comment on the interpretation of notation: all long notes that are tied to a staccato note on the downbeat are to be held to the downbeat and gently released, not held over.
