String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1473627 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Halloween,Historic,Standards,Traditional. 48 pages. Jmsgu3 #1051343. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1473627). The Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565, is one of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous organ compositions. It follows a typical North German structure with three main sections - a free opening (toccata), a fugal section (fugue), and a short free closing section. The exact date of composition is uncertain, but it's believed to have been written before 1708. There is no surviving autograph manuscript. The oldest known source is an undated copy by Johannes Ringk, a student of one of Bach's pupils. It was first published in 1833 through the efforts of composer Felix Mendelssohn during the early Bach Revival period. It gained widespread recognition after being featured in Disney's 1940 film Fantasia, which Leopold Stokowski adapted for orchestra. The piece has become strongly associated with horror films and Gothic imagery in Western culture. The Toccata begins with dramatic flourishes and arpeggios, showcasing the organist's virtuosity. The fugue is characterized by overlapping repetitions of the central theme in different melodic lines. It employs simple triadic harmony but includes some unexpected elements, such as a C minor subject entry and a solo pedal statement.

This marvelous arrangement of the Russian Dance (Trepak), from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (15 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance, one of the character dances, based on the traditional Russian and Ukrainian folk dance, Trepak, for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance for a Saxophone Octet, consisting of 4 Alto Saxophones and 4 Tenor Saxophones, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the Russian Dance, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the March as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of the Russian Dance from Tchaikovsky's marvelous ho.

It was later set to music by George Coles, a New York City preacher, and adopted as a hymn by Christian congregations in the United States and the United Kingdom. John Taylor learned the hymn while serving a mission in England in 1840 and introduced it into the LDS church. Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565435 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Instructional,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 177 pages. Sharon Wilson #4357191. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565435). This sheet music collection of 20 folk songs is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord chart is also provided for most songs. The songs in this digital book are ordered by difficulty with the easiest songs presented first. The songs progressively incorporate more challenging rhythms, some requiring rapid chord changes. Each song in this collection is presented in one of three ways as detailed below:1. Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords for 1 verse and chorus. 2. Two verses are included: The first verse is easy with fewer notes. The second verse is intermediate and expands the melody by adding more notes. If you want to learn (practice) only the easy verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. 3. Both parts play the melody for one verse beginning with part one (handbells) on the melody and part two (Boomwhackers®) on harmony. After a short interlude, part two plays the melody for the second verse while part one plays harmony. If you want to play only the first verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of these songs. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song. Each of the 20 arrangements in this collection is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples. Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817949 Composed by Adrian Dee. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score and Parts. 97 pages. Adrian Dee #6682479. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.817949). I wrote Fantasy in the late spring of 2019. Before I could arrange a premier, the COVID-19 pandemic set in and everything stopped. I finally had the joy of premiering the piece on December 8, 2021, with my home team the Newport Symphony in Newport, Oregon, with Adam Flatt conducting. The audience was on their feet for both the matinee and the evening performances, so I guess they liked it! The piece is melodic, rhythmic, tonal, and just plain fun to play. It goes together easily. Each movement is about five and a half minutes, total play time about 17 minutes. It is appropriate for advanced student groups as well as professional groups. The first movement, Busy Day (Presto), makes repeated use of a four-note motif (G-F-A-D) and is a driving non-stop articulated melody.  The second movement, Lullabye (Andante), opens and closes with the flute playing a brief cadenza, floating above an ambiguous chord in the strings. The bulk of the movement is a dovetailed hypnotic ostinato in the strings with a gentle rocking motion, and the simple flute melody above. The third movement, Wild Dreams (Presto), should be exactly that, wild and raucous, with heavy aggressive accents as indicated. For additional notes, see p. 2 of the PDF.The Youtube link above (Watch) is a recording I made at home in 2020 with my computer playing the string parts. This is the first movement, the second and third follow. It is my sincere hope that this piece will bring joy and exuberance for both the performers and the audience. Let me know if you schedule a performance; I’d love to hear what someone else does with it.adriandeeflute@gmail.com adriandee.com

It has a half bar at the fifth but no bar chords or difficult right hand techniques. The melody was probably old with an unknown writer before Robert Robinson put words to it.
